According to the Freedom Project, California likes to claim that it is leading the way in teaching LGBT history to students, but it could be on its way to normalizing pedophilia.
Here’s what a top education official in the Brea Olinda School District said when a concerned parent asked why her 9th-grader was learning about pedophilia in school:
“This is being done because we are talking about historical perspectives of how gender relations and different types of sexual orientations have existed in history,” explained Kerrie Torres, Assistant Superintendent of Curricula.
When pressed as to whether the crime of pedophilia was being taught as a “sexual orientation,” Torres replied: “It’s something that occurred in history, and so this is really important for us to include.”
My immediate reaction to these statements: either Torres is trying way too hard to be PC with this issue or students in her district are actually learning about pedophilia as a form of “sexual orientation.”
The implications here are shocking.
Pedophilia is a crime in every state, but discrimination based on sexual orientation is illegal in many states – so does that mean we should not discriminate against pedophiles? Does that mean schools and churches will be forced to hire criminals to work with children?
Perhaps the most disgusting possibility here is that students learning about pedophilia as a “sexual orientation” might assume that opposing sexual advances from an adult just because that person is an adult is a form of bigotry.
No matter your sexual orientation, I think we can all agree that pedophiles do not belong to the LGBT community, or to any community other than that of the worst type of criminal.
Editor’s note: Is this what extreme, misguided political correctness brings us? The damage this could do is enough to bring tears of anger to your eyes.
