Illinois Governor stars in “Theater of the Absurd”
We have seen a lot of performance politics in recent years. Once the milieu of overzealous grassroots activists – then referred to as “street theater” – has now been appropriated by top leaders of the Democratic Party. We have seen the TikTok shadow boxing by Democrat members of Congress to show their toughness. What they showed was silliness. More recently, several members of Congress have called on foot soldiers to disobey Trump orders. That is just ridiculous. And then there are those sing-a-thons by officeholders who are literally tone deaf.
The latest example performance politics is Illinois’ billionaire Governor J.B. Pritzker. In an effort to mock claims that Chicago is a safe city—and not in need of federal assistance in rooting out criminals – Pritzker took to Instagram. Wearing an ill-fitting bullet proof flak vest (apparently, they do not come in XXXL sizes), Illinois’ chief executive stood downtown on the edge of the Chicago River – in one of the downtown’s least trafficked locations. He feigned that he was “reporting” from “war torn Chicago”
Talking into a microphone, Pritzker said. “As you can see, there’s utter mayhem and chaos on the ground. It is quite disturbing. It is a challenge to survive in the City of Chicago.” (That is true.) As you can see from the photo atop this commentary, even if there were mayhem and chaos, Pritzker’s girth would have prevented us from seeing it.
Pritzker concluded with, “… but there is no Hellscape that I’d rather live in.” Unfortunately, there are thousands of people who no longer live in Chicago’s Hellscape because they are dead – victims of the Windy City’s high crime rate.
Pritzker may have thought he was being cute and humorous, but he was trumped by reality. (No, not that one). Just a few blocks away – on State Street, “that great street” in broad daylight in front of the iconic Chicago Theater in the heart of the Loop — shots rang out, leaving two young people dead and others wounded. That brought the number of Chicago murder victims in 2025 to more than 350 (more than seven per week) – and counting.
Pritzker is not only on the wrong side of law and order, but he is also proving to be a political buffoon. He presides over a state that is going broke … has an unbearable tax load … from which folks and businesses are fleeing … and the crown jewel city is a failing metropolis. And he is considering a run for President? America can do better than that. Hell … even the Democratic Party can do better than that.
So, there ‘tis.
It is so nice in this holiday season to have Larry miss me so much that he cries out for more. What a guy!

I do like the Chicago Theater. I like Chicago, downtown. I hate the Chicago metro area. Too flat.

What Larry leaves out is…..the truth. The whole truth. Because it does not fit his narrative, Larry avoids the whole truth. In Chicago, in 2025, as of late November, there have been approximately 383 homicides. That’s Larry’s statement for fear and loathing. This statistic however is actually a statistically significant drop in Chicago murders as compared to previous years. It is public record and a matter of fact that homicides are down about 33% through the first six months of the year compared to 2024. Gee, Larry missed that for some God knows reason.

It’s a cool website that will allow Larry to be much more in tune, honest, and accurate, with what’s really happening in his ole home town so he can quit the spin.
And no, Illinois is not going broke. I would go through the numbers, but Larry does not do math well. Illinois also has no Constitutional amendment to force a balanced budget, but a tradition of doing so, kind of. That’s precarious in itself. Suffice it to say, Illinois has real financial issues, the word precarious is used a lot, and holds one of the highest tax burdens in the US, number 7 to be exact. People are leaving, they rank number three behind CA and NY for exporting people. Illinois’ total population peaked in 2010, wasn’t that when Larry left in humiliation after being pummeled by Spanky the Clown? (just kidding). The downturn continued until last year, 2024, under Pritzker, when the population began to grow. Illinois population is expected to grow a bit in 2025 as well. Guess what: a lot of immigrants.
NJ is in a similar position. Lots of people leaving, but more coming so we rank just in front of Illinois for people leaving, but overall, our population continues to grow, and yes, we have a lot of immigrants. We also have the second highest median income in the land explaining much — retirees leave, youngsters looking to gain wealth come. It is the economic circle of life. They also just cut retiree property taxes by 50%: changed my mind about leaving instantly, gave me pause to consider. Illinois is 18th in median income, so above average, but as I said, financially, economically, Illinois is OK, but still in a precarious position. But not the gloom and doom that Larry preaches in one looks at the numbers at least. And certainly, once again, we all share a part in making things better for all of us. Just claiming the other side sucks will not do it. Just screaming “law and order” does not do it. And most certainly taking out all the immigrants will not lead to success. You need policies and programs that work for the people, all the people, not just the rich as Larry’s party likes. Larry’s party shines no light on skills for managing budgets, debts, or the economy. They own running the highest deficit in our history and I fear, he’s doing it again. Today they waste a fuck of a lot of money chasing down dishwashers, lawn keepers, and hair dressers, to deport for the misdemeanor of jumping the border. Billions wasted. Could have ended it without fanfare with E-Verify, but that does not make for great TV… Missiles cost money and blowing boats out of the water, murdering scores of people without evidence, without a warrant, is expensive. DOGE was expensive and saved us little. And the hundreds of millions spent in court because of bad policies adds up. Larry’s party is current running a deficit that will exceed Biden’s past TWO years, COMBINDED. Team Larry is putting us in the shitter. Again. While telling us it smells like daisies.

Where did I say the murder of 380 people is a nothing burger? What an ass to make that up. Why?

Chicago murders have been dropping all through 2025. Horist may be right that the Trump invasion has lowered murder, maybe even lowered crime, but after less than two months, statistically, he cannot prove it. Only a complete idiot would make that claim especially given the dropping rates well before the Trump war was called. He just parrots Trump and company and does not need facts to spew what they do. He is a puppet that does not need proof, could care less about facts, just lives for Don’s truth.

Don’t know the timing of activation nor the court cases to overturn that element of the BBB. But Larry, an undocumented guy here for a decade, good worker and taxpayer, no crimes, and you want to spend over $40K to get rid of that asset? Seems cruel and economically stupid to waste our money to get rid of a good worker. Are you really that economically dense? Isn’t that your degree? Nonetheless, when I said let some undocumented stay, the fine was $250. And I never said let criminals stay. YOU LIED and you know it, that’s deplorable.

Larry it’s clear that the left cares nothing about human life. Unless it’s someone being executed for horrible crimes. Many of them would prefer to have the people who are trying to enforce the laws killed and the killers released on a bail that’s nothing or very low. 380 people is a disgrace. Again, any loss of life is a shame. All I did was print the real number to show how Larry lies about Chicago’s murder rate is coming down in 2025 and Larry lied.
