House Republicans Take Aim at 47 Democrats

The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) and House Republicans are targeting 47 House Democrats as it looks forward to the 2022 midterm elections.

“We’ll follow through on a game plan,” vows NRCC Chairman Rep. Tom Emmer (R-MN). “Hopefully, people will allow us to operate under the radar again because they won’t believe us, and we can surprise all of you again two years from now.”

A major element of the plan is to “make sure that every voter is aware of their socialist agenda and how radical the policies are that they are advocating, and how those policies will negatively impact the lives of middle-class families,” says Emmer.

There will be two areas of focus, Emmer explained. “One is about having the right to self determine your economic freedom, your individual liberties. The other one is about big government. Big government is back again. It’s going to continue to get bigger under this current regime.”

Also, with help from Rep. Carol Miller (R-WV), Emmer hopes to recruit more Republican women to run for office.

Emmer also added that President Biden’s executive orders have made the effort to retake the House much easier. That includes the cancelation of the Keystone XL Pipeline extension which killed up to 11,000 American jobs. “The last cycle we ran and won in districts all over the country by highlighting exactly the policies that these guys, now with the stroke of a pen, have followed through on.”

The targeted seats include 29 districts that did not support Biden or supported their House representative by fewer than 6 points, 8 districts where representatives won by less than 10 points, and 10 districts that face redistricting. The NRCC will “win redistricting,” says Emmer. He also noted that Republican-led legislatures will determine most of the new boundaries.

Texas in particular could help Republicans take control of the House. The state is set to gain three seats through reapportionment.

History tells us that political parties not in control of the White House typically perform well in midterm elections. There are currently 222 Democrats and 213 Republicans in the house. Prior to the November 3rd election, there were 232 Democrats and 197 Republicans.

The 47 NRCC targets are as follows:
