HORIST: Stop misusing school kids as political props and puppets

There was a time in America when it was considered bad form to put kids into political movements.  Other than a candidate’s family photo or the iconic kissing of the baby, having anyone under college age out in front in partisan races or political movements was a cultural taboo.

In the progression into political activism, the youngest kids were taught a glorified civic history.  You know … George Washington chopping down the cherry tree, Benjamin Franklin flying his kite in a thunderstorm and Abraham Lincoln splitting rails and reading books beside the fireplace.

In high school, students were introduced to civics, where they learned about the ideals of the Founders, the structure of our federated government and how the system works – at least in theory.  In American history, they would learn of the key events shaping the nation of today.  It was a history that dwelt on the positives of American Exceptionalism.  It was a patriotic history, to be sure.

Within the high school community, students would participate in debates and mock conventions.  They would participate in learning activities, such as being the mayor or police chief for a day.
The strident edge of political debate would be avoided.  They would not be placed in the frontline of controversial movements.

There was good reason for that.  Young kids are impressionable.  They are not intellectually and experientially equipped to make judgments on their own.  They are easily propagandized.

In recent years, however, we have seen the left use younger kids to advance movements.  In those roles, they are not knowledgeable activists but maliciously scripted props or performers.

This was evident recently when kids across the nation skipped school to demonstrate for bolder climate change policies – mostly the policies of the left for reasons which are more fully explained below.

You may also recall how California Senator Diane Feinstein was confronted by a group of children who were supporting the radical left’s idiotic Green New Deal.  These were not kids there to learn from the senator, but to proffer for a left-wing issue – obviously trained and scripted by the adults in the background.

We have also seen the deployment of young children at pro-abortion rallies.  There is something ironic in bringing your kids to a movement in support of terminating the lives of future generations – but consistency is not one of the left’s stronger traits.  There is also something disturbing by seeing children marching alongside ladies of the left dressed as a human vagina or carrying placards of the most vulgar nature.

Following the tragic shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, the left took students on a well-financed anti-gun tour of America.  The liberal media provided the platform for the scripted production.  Left-wing benefactors poured millions of dollars in the national tour. Left-wing media made national heroes of students like David Hogg.  He was the left’s marionette on the national stage for a while – until he had expended his utility.

Interestingly, Andrew Pollack, the father of victim Meadow, and Patrick Petty, whose younger sister was murdered, and who did not believe that guns were the primary problem were largely ignored by the east coast media mavens.  Only kids propped up by the left deserve a voice.

What is scary is that the political indoctrination and mobilization of kids is happening in schools across America.  The politically liberal left no longer believes in a “liberal” education.  We have seen endless examples of teachers imposing left-wing views on vulnerable children.

As students progress from elementary school to middle school, to high school and to college, we see the indoctrination increasing to the exclusion of other viewpoints.  It is also the reason we now see left-wing proposals to lower the voting age to 16.  The left wants the impressionable young people to exert political influence because they are more susceptible to the left’s Utopian promises of everything for everybody.  It takes experience and reality to know that such rose-colored promises are fantasies.

Anecdotally, you will find youngsters at more conservative rallies, but not nearly as much – and rarely are they propped up as spokespersons.  The use of an indoctrinated youth corps is the manner of the big central government left.

Wherever you see politicized youth corps, you see the most authoritarian and brutal despots.  The Hitler young corps was iconic.  Mao Zedong deployed millions of indoctrinated young people in his murderous Cultural Revolution.

Why do depots and big government left-wing authoritarians focus on the indoctrination and deployment of the youth?  It is because they are the most vulnerable to propaganda.  They lack the critical intellectual skills to weigh values – especially when alternative opinion is abolished.

This is why the American left attempts to control the education of the next generation.  It is why they proffer only one view to the exclusion of free speech and civil debate.

The left is using the children of America to advance their narrow agenda.  To see hundreds of thousands of school children being organized to skip school, and to take up partisan issues, should shock and scare every freedom loving American.

So, there ‘tis.

I completely agree with you. If you look back in history during the 1930’s & 1940’s in Germany the Nazi party used three groups to spread their propaganda; media, entertainment, educators. In my opinion the extreme left today are using the same Nazi strategies.

This has been happening since the 60’s but progressively increasing through the years. Mostly Socialistic ideals which are votes for the left. The voting age should be increased not decreased because it takes time for graduates to learn how the real world works (it is not taught in schools). “They” said the States will be destroyed from within and teachers are assururing that will be the case.

When the government took the responsibility of raising our children by taking the power to discipline these out of control children we have today that is when these children began to see that there was only one side to any issue and they now see it as a power struggle between them and society, unfortunately we as parents are the ones who are being phased out Korn and Pink Floyd’s song THE WALL says it all and I quote
” Daddy’s flown across the ocean
    Leaving just a memory
A snapshot in the family album
Daddy, what else did ya leave for me?
Daddy, whatcha leave behind for me?
All in all it was just a brick in the wall
All in all it was all just bricks in the wall
    We don’t need no education
We don’t need no thought control
No dark sarcasm in the classroom
    Teachers, leave them kids alone
Hey, teachers, leave those kids alone
All in all its just another brick in the wall
All in all you’re just another brick in the wall
    We don’t need no education
We don’t need no thought control
No dark sarcasm in the classroom
    Teachers, leave them kids alone
Hey, teachers, leave those kids alone
All in all you’re just another brick in the wall “

It took me a long time (far too long!) to realize that the point of entry for socialism in schools is via the teachers’ unions, aka “Education Associations”. Those organizations – through their patronage of local unions, they are likely mentoring young teachers into becoming their trainees and inside salespeople. That’s why, I believe, we’re seeing the explosion of socialism in our nation. The fact that public school teachers raise every possible barrier to schools of choice confirms that my suspicions have merit.

Most of the people in the 18 to 35 age group didn’t study about history or civics in High School. At least not the way we did. That gap is getting wider each year. My guess is that most were taught by Socialist leaning teachers and professors. I believe that for many years they have not been teaching students how to think, but what to think.

I talked to some kids that are graduating from high school this spring. I was amazed at how many didn’t even know much about the atrocities caused by Hitler and Stalin against their own people. Even some Jewish kids didn’t know much about the Holocaust. As a result, they don’t recognize the path the liberals want this country to take. Many in this age group believe that socialism and government control of our lives is the only answer.

When asked about what is happening with Socialism in Venezuela, they blame it on a greedy dictator. They are all convinced that if someone like Obama or Sanders was in charge, Venezuela would be thriving. They have been well indoctrinated.

Many of us in the older generations are also to blame. We blindly trusted the public education system and didn’t bother to really look into what the kids were being taught. Many of us put our kids in front of that 19 inch baby sitter and didn’t pay attention to what they were watching. I wonder how many parents are paying attention to what their kids are doing on the computer.

We Americans have been too complacent for too long and did not notice all this gradually happening. Soros, Obama, the Clinton’s, Sanders and rest of their liberal colleagues are just a small part of it. This has been in the works long before any of them were even born. This is what Khrushchev was talking about when he said that we will be defeated from within. History is being forgotten and ignored and, unless we wake up this country will be condemned to repeat it. Joseph McCarthy may have been an SOB, but if he was still alive he would be saying “I TOLD YOU SO!” America needs to wake up.
