HORIST: Breaking News – Democrats culpable in gay murders?

After watching the news tie President Trump to the serious of bomb scares just because the guy was a registered Republican and supporter of the President, I realized that we were overlooking an equally important story.

Those folks on television – including those contributors from the New York Times and Washington Post – have been linking deranged whacko Cesar Sayoc to Trump. One panelist declared that the President was responsible for “radicalizing” Sayoc. You know … like ISIS radicalizes domestic terrorists. Another described Trump a “certainly culpable.” In other words, there is left-wing media unanimity that the President’s words are like a hypnotic suggestion that turns otherwise normal human beings into potential killers. We have seen this movie before – literally.

In view of this new standard of long-distance linkage, I was reminded of an applicable case that goes back to Chicago in the 1970s, when the Democratic political machine harbored extreme anti-gay policies – formal and informal.

Gays were not allowed to marry or form partnership unions in those days. Being openly gay blocked access to government jobs. Democrats refused to slate any gay person for public office. Police were frequently accused of harassing gays on the street. The homosexual community was culturally and socially shunned. Most of the homosexual community had to remain closeted or risk public harassment or worse.

This very anti-gay culture throughout the community was advanced and enforced by the Democrat politicians who had total control over the city for more than 50 years at that time. Gays were political pariahs.

From 1972 until his arrest in 1978, one of the Democrats’ own brutally murdered 33 boys and young men who were lured – many times by money — into fatal gay encounters. The perpetrator, John Gacy, disposed of 29 of the bodies in the crawl space of his home even as he resided above the makeshift graveyard with his wife.

What makes this story germane was Gacy’s ties to the Democratic Party. He was perfectly comfortable as a Party supporter and activist – at times, serving as a neighborhood precinct captain. He attended innumerable Democrat events and fundraisers. His car often bore bumper stickers promoting local Democrat candidates and he posted campaign yard signs on his front lawn – just a few feet away from the lime-covered bodies below his residence.

At the request of the local Democrat leadership, Gacy was even given Secret Service access to high-level events, including a fundraising reception with Rosalyn Carter, wife of President Carter, in which he was photographed with the First Lady (above). In Gacy’s possession when he was arrested was that photograph personally autographed by Mrs. Carter, saying “To John Gacy, Best wishes, Rosalyn Carter.” These are the type of political benefits that come with being an insider, as they say.

When Gacy murdered a bunch of young men, who were either gay or he believed were gay, was he responding to the anti-gay political environment of the Democrat-run city? Did he align to the Democratic Party because he felt a connection to their anti-gay culture? Was he influenced by the anti-gay chatter that was iconic at political gatherings in those days?

FROM THE AUTHOR: I know that there are many of you readers who will be revolted by my connecting serial killer John Gacy to the Democratic Party. You will say it is wrong, dishonest, sleazy — and that will only be the beginning of a long string of additional condemnatory descriptives. You may see this more of the product of a partisan propagandist than a political commentator. You may think it a bridge too far. AND … you will be 100 percent correct in every criticism. It IS a dishonest and disgusting linkage. No journalist with an ounce of credibility or ethics would write such trash. But, it does show what a biased journalist can do with twisted analysis. Get the point?

So, there ‘tis.
