Home Depot Founder Says Woke Generation Will Make Lousy Business Leaders! 

&NewLine;<p>The outspoken 93-year-old retired co-founder of the Home Depot has said that he does not want to see the &OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;woke generation” as tomorrow’s business leaders because they would waste time and money on things like &OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;global warming” instead of focusing on a company’s bottom line&period;&nbsp&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p>Bernie Marcus — who retired in 2002 and no longer has any involvement in the day-to-operation of Home Depot &&num;8212&semi; said during a Fox News interview&comma; &&num;8220&semi;I certainly don&&num;8217&semi;t want to see the woke generation coming up&comma; especially the leaders&period;&&num;8221&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p>Not only does he believe that they would waste time and money on social justice projects&comma; but in the same interview&comma; Marcus called the woke generation &OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;lazy&comma;” adding that &&num;8220&semi;nobody wants to work anymore&&num;8221&semi; because of &&num;8220&semi;laziness&&num;8221&semi; and government benefits&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p>Marcus told the host of Fox’s &OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;Varney and Co&period;” that he had been following the World Economic Forum&&num;8217&semi;s annual meeting in Davos &&num;8220&semi;and they&&num;8217&semi;re recommending spending more money on climate control when we don&&num;8217&semi;t have it&period; We&&num;8217&semi;ve already overspent&period; And if anything&comma; climate control has caused most of the problems we have today&period;&&num;8221&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p>Marcus continued&comma; &&num;8220&semi;We need leaders who are basically thinking about the shareholders and their employees&period; And I think today it&&num;8217&semi;s all about woke diversity&comma; things that don&&num;8217&semi;t hit the bottom line&period;&&num;8221&semi;&nbsp&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p>Marcus&comma; who was a major donor to Donald Trump&&num;8217&semi;s 2016 and 2020 presidential campaigns&comma; also spoke about the labor market&comma; saying that people &&num;8220&semi;don&&num;8217&semi;t want to work&period;&&num;8221&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p>&&num;8220&semi;You can&&num;8217&semi;t hire people&comma;&&num;8221&semi; he said&period; &&num;8220&semi;Nobody wants to work anymore&comma; especially office people&period;&&num;8221&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p>Marcus said that the reason that people didn&&num;8217&semi;t want to work is that &&num;8220&semi;they&&num;8217&semi;re entitled&comma; they&&num;8217&semi;re given everything&comma;&&num;8221&semi; adding that government unemployment benefits were pushing people to stay at home&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p>&&num;8220&semi;So you get this laziness &&num;8230&semi; and it&&num;8217&semi;s basically a socialistic society&comma;&&num;8221&semi; he said&period; Marcus also said that people wanted to work &&num;8220&semi;three days a week&comma;&&num;8221&semi; further emphasizing his belief that the current generation in the workforce is soft and lazy&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p>Marcus made similar comments in an interview with the Financial Times in December&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p>&&num;8220&semi;How do you have a recession when you have people that don&&num;8217&semi;t want jobs&quest;&&num;8221&semi; Marcus said during that interview&period; &&num;8220&semi;There are plenty of jobs out there&period;&&num;8221&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p>The Home Depot has distanced itself from Marcus&&num;8217&semi; comments issuing this brief statement&comma; &&num;8220&semi;Bernie Marcus retired from The Home Depot more than 20 years ago and does not speak on behalf of the company&period;&&num;8221&semi;&nbsp&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;
