Homan Warns Minnesota Leaders to Tamp Down the Rhetoric

&NewLine;<p class&equals;"wp-block-paragraph">&OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;Border Czar” Tom Homan has warned Minnesota leaders to stop there hateful and divisive rhetoric or there will be &OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;more bloodshed” in their state&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p class&equals;"wp-block-paragraph">Homan has been making the rounds on news outlets where he has unabashedly blamed Democratic leaders in Minnesota for escalating &OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;hateful rhetoric” after an ICE officer fatally shot 37-year-old Renee Good in Minneapolis&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p class&equals;"wp-block-paragraph">The pleas from Homan and Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem to turn down the temperature come as Minnesota officials like Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey and Gov&period; Tim Walz have accused federal officials of escalating tensions by surging federal agents to the state and refusing to cooperate with state and local officials&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p class&equals;"wp-block-paragraph">&OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;The hateful rhetoric has caused a lot of this violence&comma;” Homan said in a Sunday interview on &OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;Fox News Sunday” with host Jacqui Heinrich&period; &OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;So I said way back in March if the hateful rhetoric doesn’t decrease&comma; there will be bloodshed&comma; and&comma; unfortunately&comma; I was right&comma; and it’s not over&period; There will be more bloodshed unless we decrease the hateful rhetoric&period;”<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p class&equals;"wp-block-paragraph">Homan added that &OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;I don’t want to see anybody die&comma;” asking Minnesota leaders to &OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;work with us” despite allegations from Frey and Walz that federal officials have not collaborated with them in investigating the incident&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p class&equals;"wp-block-paragraph">While he called the shooting &OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;tragic&comma;” he blamed negative criticism of ICE for the killing during the this and other recent interviews&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p class&equals;"wp-block-paragraph">&OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;It’s another example of tragedy that follows the hateful rhetoric against ICE&comma; calling them Nazis and racists and Gestapo&comma;” he said&period; &OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;It just empowers those crazy people on the left … It justifies actions they want to take against ICE&period;”<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p class&equals;"wp-block-paragraph">Homan also echoed the Department of Homeland Security’s &lpar;DHS&rpar; defense of the officer’s actions&comma; saying he acted in self defense&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p class&equals;"wp-block-paragraph">&OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;He felt his life was in danger&comma; life of the other officer was in danger&comma; and he used his authority to protect himself and others&comma;” Homan said&period; &OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;As sad and tragic as it is&comma; the officer made a split-second decision&comma; which I think he was justified in doing&period;”<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p class&equals;"wp-block-paragraph">Noem&comma; for her part&comma; told Frey and Walz to &OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;grow up” during a Sunday morning interview with CNN’s Jake Tapper on &OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;State of the Union&comma;” alleging the two Democrats have &OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;inflamed the public” and &OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;encouraged the kind of destruction and violence that we’ve seen in Minneapolis these last several days&period;”<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p class&equals;"wp-block-paragraph">She also accused Walz and Frey of &OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;using this as an opportunity to divide” during an interview with Fox’s Maria Bartiromo on her &OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;Sunday Morning Futures” program&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p class&equals;"wp-block-paragraph">During an appearance&comma; on The Dr&period; Phil Podcast&comma; Homan urged members of Congress to let the FBI investigate the incident before making accusations&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p class&equals;"wp-block-paragraph">&OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;Take a breath&comma;” he said&period; &OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;The FBI will be investigating&comma; local law enforcement will be investigating&period; There are a lot of videos&period; There’s a lot of witnesses&period; There’s probably body cam video&period;”<&sol;p>&NewLine;
