Hey! There is Still a War in Ukraine

Hey! There is Still a War in Ukraine

If you are depending on the mainstream media, you may not be aware that there is still a war raging in Ukraine. The Iran conflict has seized the headlines, the airtime, and the attention span of the Western media. It is as if the world can only focus on one crisis at a time — so Ukraine has been pushed off the front page.

The reality on the ground has not changed. Ukraine is still fighting — and arguably still winning — still refusing to surrender an inch of its sovereignty or its national identity.

The immediate danger is not that Ukraine is losing, but that the West is not paying as much attention. There is also concern that the United States may be diverting military resources to the Iran conflict – shortchanging the much needed support for Ukraine.

This is the moment when leadership matters. This is the moment when nations that claim to stand for freedom must prove that those words are not hollow. The civilized world needs to prove that it can manage more than one challenge at a time.

Russia has not paused its aggression. Russia has not softened its ambitions. Russia has not abandoned its goal of subjugating all Ukraine. In fact, Russia is planning a new offensive. The West cannot afford to drift, to waver, or to become distracted by the latest geopolitical conflicts.

Ukraine is still winning because its people have not broken. But victory requires more than courage. It requires resources. It requires weapons and ammunition. It requires the sustained commitment of NATO nations that understand what is at stake. It requires maximum pressure and sanctions on the aggressor, Russia. If Putin is allowed to carve up Ukraine, then every security guarantee in Europe becomes a suggestion rather than a promise. Every treaty becomes a polite request. Every border becomes negotiable.

That is why the only justified end to the war in Ukraine is the complete expulsion of Russian forces from all Ukrainian territory. Anything less rewards aggression and invites future imperial invasions by the Madman of Moscow. Losing in Ukraine will reveal to every authoritarian regime on the planet that the West will no longer defend democracy or allies. The United States and its NATO partners must not allow that to happen.

To relieve the current oil situation, some sanctions on Russia are being eased. That is short‑sighted and strategically incoherent. It hands Moscow the very revenue stream that fuels its war machine. It is the equivalent of trying to put out a fire by pouring gasoline on it. The West has the capacity to stabilize global energy markets without rewarding Russian aggression.

The global economy does not need Russian crude in order to function. It needs stability, predictability, and a coalition of nations that refuse to be blackmailed by petro‑authoritarians.

This is also a moment for political leadership in the United States. The President has the power over American foreign policy. He has the ability to shape public opinion and to rally support for Ukraine’s cause. A more forceful, unequivocal, and sustained pro‑Ukraine posture would send a powerful signal to both allies and adversaries. It would demonstrate that the United States understands the stakes and intends to see the conflict through to a just conclusion.

The West must match Ukraine’s determination with its own. NATO must ensure that Ukraine has every military resource it needs to finish the job. The free world must not allow media distraction to become neglect and strategic failure.

The war in Ukraine is not a regional dispute. It is a defining struggle between the rule of law and the rule of force. Between democratic self‑determination and imperial domination. Between a future shaped by freedom and a future shaped by oppression.

Ukraine is still winning. The question is whether the West will stay focused and involved long enough to bring home victory.

So, there ‘tis.

You seem a bit out of touch and behind the times with current events in Ukraine. War, what war? It’s an excursion, heh, heh.

While there is no plan and our strategy is chaos; I actually have some hope that events have conspired to provide Trump with a set of potential actions there that win him a Nobel and get us out of Iran with some dignity maybe if only Trump can withstand whatever Putin holds over him which I think he can given current events that have never been more in Trump’s favor. I think the opportunity is there and the world is pointing Trump in the right direction. The road to leaving Iran with dignity starts in Ukraine. And only Trump can travel it. He is the only one that can end Ukraine for a well-deserved legacy of spreading democracy across the globe. Can’t get that in Iran alone.

You state: “There is also concern that the United States may be diverting military resources to the Iran conflict – shortchanging the much-needed support for Ukraine.” May be diverting? Trump has defunded Biden’s Ukraine War starting in 2025 and the only financial aid is what’s still left over from the Biden era that Trump cannot cancel and has not delivered yet resulting in the Council of Foreign Affairs (CFR) conclusion: “there has been no new U.S. aid legislation since 2024, and combined European aid tops U.S. contributions.” CFR is an unbiased non-partisan think tank. Basically, Trump has stopped funding but allows Europe to buy our weapons for Ukraine support. He may have given Ukraine a loan too. At least he did not proclaim for them to rise up and throw off their oppressors because he’s got their back like the Iranian protestors. Financially, Trump has done to Ukraine what he did to the Kurds — toss them under the bus. He still a big enough guy to profit off the war by selling arms to Europe for Ukraine, a big supporter of spreading Democracy across the globe that I think has a perfect opportunity to do more and take the Nobel for his efforts.

To give you an up to date summary, here’s CFR, actual smart people that Trump should leverage. *https://www.cfr.org/articles/how-much-us-aid-going-ukraine* It’s a very good read to bring you up to date.

I have been stating my little tin-foil hat excursion here as to what could happen, an opportunity that exists, if Trump really wants Democracy and a Nobel.

Number one, he’s got to know there is no Nobel for him in Iran. If he takes over, no Nobel. If Iran rises up, tosses off the regime, puts in Democracy, American style; the Iranian patriots get the Nobel, not Trump. But he can get the Nobel for Ukraine, no problem, it’s just sitting there waiting for him.

NATO thinks he sucks because he disses them, wants to steal Greenland, maybe Canada, and I doubt they love our colonial actions in VZ or Cuba, thus far. I have been saying Trump can rekindle NATO, send Rubio in as he is a world-class groveler and suck-up, and at least get NATO support for air space and to use their bases to pummel Iran from above. Low n behold, it’s starting as a Larry-named-Joe indicated NATO’s Rutte recently gushed over Trump, really stroked the guy and then said he’s got NATO to help with the Strait of Hormuz. But if your read the entire Rutte transcript, there’s a catch —- Ukraine needs to be over. Rutte is a genius That’s perfect. To gain NATO support to end the excursion into Iran, just end the war in Ukraine and the Nobel is yours as peacemaker to the globe and the greatest addition to democracy in 50 years.

The wrinkle: Putin might have dirt on Trump and lets it fly. Again, perfect timing since Trump can claim AI hoax, fake news, and I might be so overjoyed at supporting Ukraine that even I will believe Trump on this one. I would rally round the flag as raised by that President. The timing has never been better. Putin’s got some oil cash now, might really love to see all that cash from all those sanctions being gone forever, and perhaps Trump can toss in a little bit of Ukraine so Putin can save some face. You know, the part Ukraine does not want. Putin may even hold the Trump dirt, if he even has any. Putin has got to be having issues getting Iranian drones, Ukraine can teach us to defend against Iranian drones and supply us with $50K drones in place of our $1M missiles to pummel Iran for less, drone pummel them forever if we choose. The timing has never been better to seize the opportunity to end Ukraine and Iran close together. And the other NATO nations, even the ones Trump dissed, may even tip the hat.

We get Ukraine’s drone defense intelligence and can use their drones to pummel Iran forever, on the cheap, until we decide we have 1) destroyed their uranium and missile production capabilities (probably done), 2) wiped out navy, air force, air defense, radar, etc. (done), and 3) handed up enough punishment to claim justice for our fallen Americans while telling them we will do even more if they continue. (we have 1,500 already). They can keep their regime, but best not step outside the box because we can always do what we did before in the future, this time with cheap drones after we take out their air defense. Hard to stop us, we own the skies and massive overwhelming death from above; they have tiny terrorists and an ineffective military.

End result is that if Ukraine is done, NATO is on board for Iran and the Strait, we extract our pound of Iranian flesh and pound Iran back to the dark ages with enough cheap drones that we can continue forever if they remain recalcitrant. We don’t get is regime change, not sure we can find the Uranium, if it is even above ground and not under a mountain of rubble, but we get justice for the fallen, can leave with dignity and heads held high, re-establish NATO as supported by us, again, and just say NO to Putin. And Trump gets his Nobel, well deserved.

I had noted the impossibility of this at the war’s beginning and now Rutte has stepped up to offer NATO support for Iran. Hey, if that can happen, you never know. Trump should jump on this as many NATO country’s are a bit miffed at Rutte glowing over Trump, but I hope that serves to get Trump’s attention and have him look at this BBD —- bigger, better, deal.

Sadly way to many people, like Frank, think Trump is omnipotent and can with a wave of his had solve all of the worlds problems. It doesnt work that way. And undoing previous presidents problems they caused will take time and diligence.

I support Ukraine in this war with Russia but we also have responsibilities around the world that have to be managed and we have to husband our ammunition stores in case we need them. Ukraine is Europe’s war and they should step up and do their part. OOOOPPPPSSSII! I forgot they cant because the expected us to do all of the fighting for them during the Cold War and they sold off most of their military equipment and what little ammunition they had after the Cold War ended. The German AF about 10 years ago had so few functioning aircraft they were going to send pilots to the US to fly US planes to keep the flight certifications up to date. The had about 1-2 Submarine and about the same number of major surface ships seaworthy. We were providing security so why should they spend money protecting themselves.

It has been estimated that up to half of all of the financial aid and equipment we sent Ukraine has been stolen so why send more when the people in charge in Ukraine dont seem to care about anything but enriching themselves. However Ukraine did do us a favor by using up all of our aging munitions that were coming close to their shelf life that we would have to pay to DeMil.

Once again Ukraine is Europes problem and they are the ones that should be footing the bill to defend it. We’ve paid for Europes Defense for about 76 years and its time they man’d up and protected themselves

Clearly you are a new reader Earl if you think I think Trump is potent, much less omni. Most of the conclusions about the war in Iran are his; don’t you know it’s over, we won, and we are negotiating now even though they are not. Not sure how you negotiate the unconditional surrender Trump demands.

Trump is the one who said he could end Ukraine before his inauguration. Over 50 times he said it. Trump is the one who said: “no new wars” hundreds of times in 2016 and 2024. Trump is the one who has said he has the end of the war in the bag in Iran, that he secured peace between Israel and Iran (how did that work out?), Pakistan and India where terrorist attacks still are happening at the boarder, and I can do more. He’s a marketing maven who can’t support his slogans. We have bombed over a half dozen countries since T 2.0, murdered unarmed drug runners without a warrant even, kidnapped heads of state, and now have started the largest regional war since WWII.

Europe already supports Ukraine more than we do and why you feel we need to police the world, except for Europe is beyond me.

Why you feel we need to solve the world’s problems is beyond me. I could have sworn this is about America First, not saving or protecting the world while America comes second or last. One of the few things I like about Trump, or at least used to like, was his avoidance of war, especially new wars. Ever since Captain Bonespurs ducked Vietnam, he has skirted wars until he discovered the joys of war as diversion and started his wars. Already he has raised the max age for military recruitment so now Eric can join Tiffany and The Barron in their patriotic enlistment to support their Dad’s patriotic war to bring democracy to Muslims. Do you realize how much debt you are rolling up for this saving of the Muslims? You rolled back Russian sanctions so they are rich as are the Iranians — you rolled the sanctions there too, how crazy delusional is that. We are rolling up more debt than when Trump achieved that record, a record only Trump is breaking. While we are paying his tariffs on the other end as he and his family roll up a couple of billion since inauguration.

Yeah, we’re paying, you got that right. You just got WHO we are paying wrong. Wise up.

Earl you will find that Frank Dunger cares nothing about the American people. But he can’t explain how democrats will make America great again. They want to make America weaker again. By the way, Dunger does root against America

Willie, why would you say that when you know it isn’t true. How do Democrats weaken America? How did I root against America? That’s a lie.

I have listened to you bitch about Biden for six years, including Trump’s year-long bashing him for things Trump does. He even brought him up to blame in the SOTU a year after he took office. This guy is hitting you with a 10% tariff tax, the biggest tax increase in decades. Is pointing that out unAmerican? Should we take back the Boston Tea Party. Gas was under three dollars when Trump promised to bring it down by 50% by NOW. Instead we are over four dollars a gallon and the oil company stocks are through the roof with expect profits like we have never seen. Is it unAmerican to speak out about that? He campaigned on affordability and now tells you it’s unamerican to use the word. Ukraine was winning with our support and now the guy would claimed to be their best supporter is tossing them under the bus and defunding that war starting in 2025. Is it unpatriotic to want to support Ukraine, a Christian Democratic Republic? And now you kill 150 school kids in starting a war-by-choice with no imminent harm by a guy who campaigned on NO NEW WARS while he bombed a half dozen countries in 2025 and just started the largest war since WWII; over seven countries involved and growing. The biggest oil disruption in decades. Now he even wants all of NATO to jump in. Is saying what Trump campaigned on, NO NEW WARS unamerican now?

Are you saying it’s patriotic to spend $4 for gas, patriotic to bomb a gaggle of countries and start a large seven nation war? I think you need to check what you said in 2024 that eroded in 2025 and now you have reversed yourself in 2026. You are spending us into the shitter. You are taxing us to death. Prices are rising. The market is cratering. Employment is falling. Where are those new factories, those jobs, is it unamerican to ask questions about this stuff? We continue on this path and pretty sure the wheels will be coming off our economy by mid April; the die is already cast; the question is can he signal a trajectory change.

I am sorry, do you have the patriotism handbook specifying all these new rules. I need a new pen, think I want to paint it black.

Do you even know why we are doing all this stuff? If your patriotism was exemplified by America First, where does Ukraine, Gaza, Lebanon, Venezuela, Yemen, Somalia, Syria, and Nigeria; over 600 strikes in 2025 fit in. Then Greenland, Iceland, Cuba, and Canada; is that America First. Is it wrong to bring this up?

I really wonder how you can forget that which you lobbied for so strongly before?

Come to our NO KINGS rallies this weekend and see us protest against many things that were MAGA in 2024 but are not in 2026.
