GOP Voters Support Trump on Immigration

<p>According to an Economist Group&sol;YouGov survey of GOP and right-leaning independent voters&comma; an overwhelming number support Donald Trump as the best man to handle the issue of immigration&period; Trump receive 49&percnt; of the support&comma; in second place was the &&num;8220&semi;not sure&&num;8221&semi; catergoy at 13&percnt;&comma; and Marco Rubio received the third greatest support at 10&percnt;&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Trump&&num;8217&semi;s position has been controversial but consistent&period; &nbsp&semi;In a nutshell&colon; build the border wall &lpar;make Mexico pay for it&rpar;&comma; enforce our existing laws &lpar;throw illegals out&comma; defund sanctuary cities&rpar; and make our immigration policy serve the U&period;S&period; by requiring Americans be hired first&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>The most controversial part of Trump&&num;8217&semi;s immigration plan has been the stated goal to deport 11 million illegal immigrants currently in America&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>This would be a massive undertaking and other candidates believe would lead to a horrendous abuse of human rights&comma; ripping families apart and rounding up illegal in holding pens&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>But would this be the case&quest; According to a Trump&&num;8217&semi;s website&comma; &&num;8220&semi;In 2011&comma; the Government Accountability Office found that there were a shocking 3 million arrests attached to the incarcerated alien population&comma; including tens of thousands of violent beatings&comma; rapes and murders&period;&&num;8221&semi; &nbsp&semi;Looking at 3 million arrests&comma; would it be much of a stretch to continue one step further and process them for deportation&quest;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Trump&&num;8217&semi;s style has always been to make controversial statements&comma; and then double down when challenged&period; The immigration issue has been the rule rather than the exception&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>But the more confidence Trump expresses in this idea&comma; the more mainstream USA starts to look for solutions to this problem and accept it as possible&period; While most politicians see the potential horror of Japanese internment camps or Auschwitz style treatment of illegals&comma; perhaps with Trump&&num;8217&semi;s inspiration&comma; some of the great and bureaucratic minds can find a way to begin this process and make a dent in illegal immigration&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>In my own view&comma; the solution is to build the wall and control the border&period; Period&period; Once this is accomplished and the flow of illegals is slowed dramatically or stopped&comma; the problem of illegal immigrants in America takes on a completely new dynamic&period; Once this happens&comma; we can solve the problem without the crisis mentality that currently exists&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;
