Georgia Lawmaker Tries to Impeach Biden, Suspended from Twitter

Freshman Rep. Majorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) submitted articles of impeachment against President Joe Biden on Thursday, his first day in office. Eight days earlier, House lawmakers voted 232-197 to impeach President Donald Trump.

In her official statement, Greene framed President Joe Biden as a “threat to national security” based on a “pattern of abuse of power,” including his “quid pro quo in Ukraine” and by “allowing his son to influence the domestic policy of a foreign nation and accept various benefits – including financial compensation – from foreign nationals” including “America’s greatest enemies Russia and China.”

Earlier this week, Twitter suspended Greene from her account for 24 hours.

The suspension is due to her claims about voter fraud in Georgia. Twitter said that Greene violated the site’s terms of service by “spreading election misinformation,” but what is more likely is that they targeted her based on her support for QAnon – a conspiracy theory whose followers took part in the riots at the Capitol on January 6th. Earlier this month, Twitter also permanently banned Michael Flynn, former security adviser to President Trump, and Sidney Powell, mother of the “kraken” lawsuits, for promoting QAnon.

“The accounts have been suspended in line with our policy on Coordinated Harmful Activity,” said a Twitter spokesperson.

“We’ve been clear that we will take strong enforcement action on behavior that has the potential to lead to offline harm, and given the renewed potential for violence surrounding this type of behavior in the coming days, we will permanently suspend accounts that are solely dedicated to sharing QAnon content.”

Author’s Note: Greene’s lawsuit will not move forward in the Democratic-controlled house, but it could reemerge if Republicans take control of the chamber in 2022. Also, as you may have noticed, the liberal media is not covering this story.
