Multiple people were arrested recently in Georgia in a sting operation targeting those involved in human trafficking and sexually preying on child. One of those arrested is a Georgia Democrat politician who ran twice for a seat in the State House.

Just the News reported on April 30 that Carl Sprayberry, 32-year-old Democrat who ran for two separate Georgia House seats, was arrested in “Operation Lights Out” along with others involved in human trafficking and sexually approaching children online and/in person. Sprayberry was arrested for human trafficking in the operation carried out by the Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office in collaboration with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and the Georgia Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

Sprayberry is a native of Columbus, GA, who ran for a State House seat representing District 134 in 2020. In 2024, he again ran for a House seat, this time to represent District 134. He lost both races to Republican candidates.

Besides Just the News, the Columbus Ledger-Enquirer was one of the very few sources that mentioned the political party affiliation of Carl Sprayberry while reporting the news of the arrests. WTVM, an ABC affiliate, omitted Sprayberry’s membership in the Democratic Party and mentioned him simply as “a Georgia politician.”

Democrats have been repeatedly linked with organized child trafficking involving the unaccompanied minors brought into the country via the southern border. During the Biden administration, the issue of child trafficking reached terrifying levels, with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) reportedly turning a blind eye to the cross-border child trafficking.

During the first Trump administration, the government started DNA testing for children and the grown-up accompanying them across the border to determine whether the two were related. The Biden administration ended that policy, seemingly to facilitate child trafficking by unrelated people.

On his podcast Redacted (May 8), Clayton Morris interviewed independent journalist Breanna Morello, who has reported on this issue. Morello said that the Biden administration did everything it could to help human traffickers instead of protecting children. She also said that the investigative division of the DHS, the HSI, recently tried to reach hundreds of thousands of migrant children brought into the country during the Biden administration and they failed to locate 95% of these children.
