Fredericksburg, Virginia mayor supports terrorism

The mayor of Fredericksburg, Virginia, Mary Katherine Greenlaw is guilty of aiding and abetting terrorism in her own city.  That may seem like a hyperbolic statement, but the facts are clear and on the record.  We can actually see one terrifying example of the Mayor’s support of terrorism.

According to all reports, Mayor Greenlaw ordered the police to stand down in the face of continuing protests.  This was not an order to just refrain from aggressively moving or dispersing unlawful demonstrators and rioters, but to refrain from responding to 911 emergency calls.

Police and emergency dispatchers were told not to respond to calls because the protesters had “permission” to do what that were doing –even if rioting and terrorizing.  If Greenlaw offered her “personal” permission, it did not seem that the protesters had an official city permit to assemble, much less riot.

We see the evidence of Greenlaw’s support of terrorism in a 911 call from a woman with a young daughter trapped in her car by rioters who blocked her movement, jumped on her vehicle and shouted obscenities at her and her daughter.

The woman called 911 – and here is the unbelievable exchange after the woman explained that she is trapped by an angry mob.

DISPATCHER:  THE CITY HAS SANCTIONED THEIR PROTEST, SO WE JUST HAVE OFFICERS THAT CAN ONLY MONITOR. THEY CAN’T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. SO WE RECOMMEND …

WOMAN: THEY’RE BLOCKING. (screaming to rioters)  GET OUT!

DISPATCHER: YEAH, THEY’RE ALLOWED TO DO THAT PER CITY HALL.  SO WE SUGGEST THAT YOU, UM. YOU REPORT THIS TO CITY HALL AND MAKE A COMPLAINT THERE.  AND THAT WAY THEY CAN DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT, BECAUSE RIGHT NOW THEY TOLD OUR OFFICERS THEY CAN’T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT.

WOMAN: I CAN’T SIT HERE ALL NIGHT, MAM. YOU CANNOT …  I HAVE A LITTLE GIRL IN THE CAR.  YOU CAN’T DO THAT.

WOMAN:  (screaming to rioters) GET OUTTA MY CAR!  (to dispatcher) YOU KNOW, THIS IS GETTING TO GET DANGEROUS.  I GOT A KID HERE.

DISPATCHER:  YES MAM.  I SUGGEST YOU CALL UP CITY HALL TO LET THEM KNOW ABOUT YOUR FRUSTRATION.

WOMAN: (screaming to rioters) GET OUT OF THE WAY! (to dispatcher) THIS IS GETTING SCARY.  THEY’RE ON MY CAR.  THEY’RE ON MY CAR.

WOMAN: (CRYING)

DISPATCHER: MAM, ARE THEY ACTUALLY SITTING OR STANDING ON YOUR CAR?

WOMAN: THEY ARE ON MY CAR RIGHT NOW.  I GOT A LITTLE GIRL IN THE CAR CRYING.  ARE YOU KIDDING?

DISPATCHER: MAM, ARE THEY ACTUALLY STANDING OR SITTING ON YOUR CAR?

As the violence escalated the Fredericksburg police did arrive on the scene in defiance of Greenlaw’s orders — and the woman was able to ease away from the rioters.

Instead of apologizing to the woman, after police broke up the riot, Greenwald personally apologized for the police treatment of the rioters, who she said, “went through this fearsome experience.”

Those rioters were not looting for personal gain.  They were not demonstrating for police reform.  They were assaulting that woman and her young daughter to terrorize them – maybe even harm them.  That is terrorism by the first definition.

Greenwald had issued unlawful and unconstitutional orders to promote and protect the rioting terrorists.  Every police officer swears to uphold the law and defend the Constitution. They had every right and obligation to ignore Greenlaw’s criminal orders – and to protect the public by quelling the riot.  They apparently did that eventually, but not soon enough.

It is likely that the woman involved will sue the City – and if she does not win her case, we can stop talking about America’s highly vaunted rule-of-law.  As if what we have witnessed across the country is not sufficient to dispel that myth.

Oddly, Greenlaw’s policy of supporting rioters over public safety is both shocking … and typical of the new left.  For her part, Greenlaw should not only be removed from office, but she should be criminally prosecuted.  (Incidentally, this is not a story that played on CNN or MSNBC.  Go figure.)

So, there ‘tis.
