<p>Good day everyone and happy 4th. It is my custom as a historian to give a small insight into the meaning of the holiday. As a proud American and a patriot I ask this question: what is there to celebrate?</p>
<p>This country is a pandemonius mess. It has become something unrecognizable. It&#8217;s philosophies have been hijacked and its people cowed into a state of stupor and complacency. Its citizens have been turned against each other for political gain and expediency. It&#8217;s leaders have become mad with power. It&#8217;s entrepreneurial spirit replaced with dependency and exploitation. The land I was born into, the land my grandfather emigrated to (legally), the nation I&#8217;ve studied with wonder all my life, seems to me to be gone or at least fading away.</p>
<p>America is a truly unique nation in the history of human progress. It is land founded not by a people but by an idea. A concrete belief in the rights of all people. The naysayers and revisionists love to jump on that premise by pointing out the history of blacks and women.</p>
<p>Which brings me to how that premise breeds the best and fastest kind of change. This country has been around for a very short time in comparative terms. In that time more progress has been made in the fulfillment of that ideal than any other nation.</p>
<p>It took England for example nearly 400 years to simply put a small restriction on the Kings power (magna carta). In half that time we established the first true republic since Venice in the 9th century, freed the slaves, became an industrial powerhouse, became a haven for the downtrodden, and saved the world from the scourge of nazism and the malevolent promises of communism. ;</p>
<p>Yet here we are now! What the hell happened to us?</p>
<p> ;&#8211; Our people have been diced up into groups and pitted against each other.</p>
<p> ;&#8211; Terrorist attacks are happening weekly and the response is disarming and hindering Americans?</p>
<p> ;&#8211; A new aristocracy has formed in the political world of career politicians who become wealthy through their corruption. ;</p>
<p> ;&#8211; The people who speak out against this corruption laughably fawn over the worst personification of it (Hilary Clinton).</p>
<p> ;&#8211; We make business impossible to flourish by driving business abroad with high taxes, regulations, and oversight.</p>
<p>The above act creates a miserable life for the low and middle class who are then sicked on the wealthy like starving dogs by the very politicians who were the architects of their misery. And it&#8217;s called social justice.</p>
<p>What can we do to right the ship? In this world of hyper politization it&#8217;s difficult to say. I just know this. The way we&#8217;re going is leading us to our demise and decline. We need someone who hasn&#8217;t been an architect of this mess like Clinton or any career politican for that matter.</p>
<p>The job was never meant to be a career. It was meant to be a sacrifice one did for his/her community by being the one to speak for them in the nations capital. Instead our representatives worry about their poll numbers, their public image, their party loyalty, and their dependency on other people&#8217;s money. Know anyone like that?</p>
