Finally! Senate set to vote to defund Planned Parenthood
After two gruesome and graphic video interviews with Planned Parenthood executives caused a national uproar (at least among conservatives), the Senate is set to vote on a bill to cut off over half a billion dollars in Planned Parenthood funding.
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky said the Senate will vote on bill S. 1881, introduced by Joni Ernst and about two dozen co-sponsors and widespread support. The bill would re-direct the funds to other community based health organizations. The vote should happen sometime next week (we will report when it happens).
According to Ms. Ernst, even Hillary Clinton, whose initial response was supportive of the organization, has described these videos as “disturbing.”
