Feud: Biden vs. Bezos

In one corner we have Joe Biden perhaps the most inept President in history who is getting more senile by the day.

In the other corner, we have Jeff Bezos, on and off the richest man in the world, who owns the Washington Post which pushes the far left agenda to its limits.

These guys should be best buddies, they are philosophically aligned. And Biden could certainly use some powerful friends right now.

But Biden frequently paints Amazon as the bad guy when he talks about higher taxes for rich people. And Biden seems to be rooting for the unionization of Amazon, a battle that Bezos thinks is a bad idea.

I guess Bezos’ left-leaning ideology doesn’t extend into real life when it costs him more money.

And Bezos has some issues with Biden as well. Bezos has been outspoken in his criticism of Biden’s handling of inflation.

Here is the exchange:

Biden tweeted, “You want to bring down inflation? Let’s make sure the wealthiest corporations pay their fair share.”

Bezos responded, “Raising corp taxes is fine to discuss. Taming inflation is critical to discuss. Mushing them together is just misdirection.”

And later from Bezos, “Remember the Administration tried their best to add another $3.5 TRILLION to federal spending. They failed, but if they had succeeded, inflation would be even higher than it is today, and inflation today is at a 40 year high.”

Then economist Larry Summers broke in, “I think @JeffBezos is mostly wrong in his recent attack on the @JoeBiden Admin. It is perfectly reasonable to believe, as I do and @POTUS asserts, that we should raise taxes to reduce demand to contain inflation and that the increases should be as progressive as possible.”

Just a side note. Larry Summers is a brilliant economist most of the time. But did he just say that sending money to Washington reduces demand?  So we reduce the ability of taxpayers to spend while enabling the out-of-control Congress which is the world’s largest “demander” to spend more?  Sorry Larry, doesn’t make sense.

And finally from Bezos. “ The newly created Disinformation Board should review this tweet, or maybe they need to form a new Non Sequitur Board instead. Raising corp taxes is fine to discuss. Taming inflation is critical to discuss. Mushing them together is just misdirection.”

Will we see a disillusioned Jeff Bezos finally see the light and shift over to more common sense conservative principles? Will he redirect the Washington Post (which is covering none of this) to cover the news instead of spewing constant mid- and dis-information?

Jeff should seriously consider registering as a Republican. We do accept repentant sinners on our side.

And I wonder how we might further this, with a game of “Let’s you and him fight”?
