Federal Government Spends $138,000 on Gender Identity Research

The University of Washington is doing a research study on gender identity on children between the ages 4 to 6, with the help of federal government funds.

The study will focus on “early and current gender socialization, children’s internal sense of gender identity, children’s gendered behavior (e.g., preferences for gender-typed toys) and measures of related gender cognition (e.g., memory for gender-consistent vs. inconsistent behaviors).”

The National Science Foundation (NSF) gave the researchers $138,000 for the study, where 250 children aged 4 to 6, along with their parents, are being questioned on “gendered behavior.”

“Prominent theories of gender development have discussed the degree to which gender identity results from an internal sense of gender and socialization processes,” writes the National Science Foundation. “However, tests of these theories have been limited because, for most children, internal gender identity and environmental socialization substantially overlap, rendering it impossible to distinguish the relative impact of each factor on gender development.”

NSF was created in 1950 by Congress with the mission “to promote the progress of science; to advance the national health, prosperity, and welfare.”

The University of Washington’s study is anticipated to finish in 2019 and the NSF offered funding stating that it’s “a critical test of extant theory by examining gender development among children with atypical patterns of gender development” and that “specifically, this grant supports the investigation of whether established theories (e.g., social learning theory, social cognitive theory, gender schema theory) can account for a wider range of human gender experiences.”

However, there have been countless studies done exposing the negative mental and physical effects of sex-change surgeries.

Not to mention, the American College of Pediatricians (ACPeds,) a group of the country’s leading medical experts, has made a statement condemning these procedures at an early age.

“Conditioning children into believing a lifetime of chemical and surgical impersonation of the opposite sex is normal and healthful is child abuse,” according to the ACPeds.

Two of the leading researchers of the study also work for the “TransYouth Project,” which “aims to help scientists, educators, parents, and children better understand the varieties of human gender development.”

“In addition to our primary goal of supporting the first major study of transgender children in the U.S., we are also conducting research about the origins of anti-transgender bias, and have plans for outreach projects in collaboration with some of our partner organizations,” said Selin Gülgöz, one of the leading researchers.

Author’s note: This research group is the product of the liberal “trans agenda” and is just trying to provide scientific “evidence” that transgenderism in children is real. The Trump administration needs to reassess the funding being given from the National Science Foundation. It’s appalling that federal funds are being spent on a study about an imaginary phenomenon. Encouraging transgenderism in children is still child abuse.

Editor’s note: Trump is trying to drain the swamp, but he missed some ‘gators at NSF. The purpose the study is to justify a political position, one of the most heinous on the political left.
