FBI Finally Questions Hillary!
As the FBI investigation into Hillary Clinton’s irresponsible and illegal use of a private server during her time as Secretary of State comes to a close, Hillary herself was finally brought in this Saturday for “voluntary” questioning – for a grueling three and a half hours.
“Secretary Clinton gave a voluntary interview this morning about her email arrangements while she was Secretary. She is pleased to have had the opportunity to assist the Department of Justice in bringing this review to a conclusion. Out of respect for the investigative process, she will not comment further on her interview,” reports optimistic Clinton spokesman Nick Merrill.
Saturday’s interrogation has been hotly anticipated, especially following Bill Clinton’s suspicious (and stupid) meeting with Attorney General Loretta Lynch last week. FBI agents are reportedly “livid” about the clandestine meeting, with many calling Lynch to recuse herself form the case and others convinced the meeting was a bribe.
Mr. Clinton “at the very least may be a witness in this public corruption probe,” says Fox News’ Catherine Herridge.
The big question now is how long will it take the FBI to conclude the investigation? It has already been more than a year since Hillary’s use of an unsecure server was discovered, and we still have yet to see the State Department process all of the emails she submitted.
While we have been assured by Attorney General Loretta Lynch that she will accept the recommendations of the FBI, and we are assured that FBI Director Comey is outside the influence of the Obama Administration, the lack of an indictment so far does not bode well for the process. Donald Trump has responded to this state of affairs by slamming the system as “rigged,” tweeting that “it is impossible for the FBI not to recommend criminal charges against Hillary Clinton. What she did was wrong! What Bill did was stupid!”
The possibility of an indictment, although unlikely, is a huge boon for Donald Trump, who is currently lagging behind his female rival the polls.
RNC Chairman Reince Preibus reminds us that Hillary is “the first major party presidential candidate to be interviewed by the FBI as part of a criminal investigation surrounding her reckless conduct…that the FBI wanted her for questioning reinforces her central role in deliberately creating a culture which put her own political ambitions about State Department rules and jeopardized our national security,” says Preibus. “In over 2,000 emails, Clinton’s decision exposed classified information, including 2 that included TOP SECRET intelligence, just so she could skirt transparency laws in order to hide her shady dealings as Secretary of State.”
