Enough of This Coup Crap…

Enough of This Coup Crap…

Washington Post writers have produced yet another book – an anti-Trump book, of course.  It will receive the treatment all left-wing books get in this country.  The fact that these highly partisan books get instant publishers is the first evidence that the book industry is a captive part of the left-wing propaganda machine.

Of course, the book will get rave reviews from the New York elitist media. And the authors will be guesting on virtually every program in the CNN and MSNBC line up.  Excerpts from the book will be top of the news stories for the mendacious liberal media platforms.  With any luck, it will win an in-house Pulitzer Prize – an award that is given by the left to the left.

The latest book is entitled, “I Alone Can Fix It.”  The more salacious passages have to do with former Joint-Chiefs-of-Staff Chairman General Mark A. Milley saving America from a coup by President Trump.

Milley is SAID to have said that he was deeply concerned that Trump would attempt a coup after losing the 2020 election.  And Milley is SAID to have used words comparing the situation to the rise of Hitler – fearing a “Reichstag Moment.”  He is also said to have “feared brown shirts in the street.”  Milley is alleged to have assured associates that the military would not participate in any coup.  Well Duh!

Of course, the book and all the reporting is based on what others may have said that Milley said.  I have yet to see a single interview in which Milley actually spoke for himself.  If Milley really did say all those things, I would think it was more of a “Seven Days in May” moment.

Long before the 2020 presidential election, the left was seeding a fantastical narrative that Trump would refuse to leave office if he lost.  There was no evidence to support that claim – but irrational hatred of Trump does not require evidence.  Just accusation.

Right after the 2020 election, Democrats and the left-wing media refloated the nonsensical coup theory.  At the time, I wrote a piece that basically called attention to the fact that there was no evidence of coup plotting – and if there was even the slightest indication – even a hint – the military would never go along with it.  Just like the General said.  And the White House staff would have hauled Trump off in a straight jacket.

There was not any possibility of a coup – or even an attempt to mount one.  The entire notion of a coup was fiction then – and is fiction now.

But that has not stopped Democrats and the media from embellishing the initial phony theory of a potential coup by seeing everything as an attempted coup.  They initially elevated the riot on capitol Hill to an insurrection … then sedition … and finally an attempted coup – an actual attempt to overthrow the government to install Trump as a dictator.

The fact that some people may actually believe the Democrat narratives is more frightening than the fairytale coup.

If you have any view of the history of coups, you will immediately understand that the event of January 6th was not a coup – or even an attempted coup.  In most cases, the military undertake them.  If the military is not driving the coup, they are stopping them.  But they need a real coup to stop – not some imaginative ramblings of an old general.

And did you ever see a coup in which those involved do not come to the seat of government with weapons.  I mean real weapons.  How can you have a respectable coup without a bunch of people shooting at each other.

Outside of a few mentally impaired nutcases, I do not believe that any of the demonstrators – and damn few of the rioters – had an intention of overthrowing the government.  There was no call to arbitrarily install Trump as president-for-life.

They wanted to stop the certification, for sure.  That was out of a belief that the Democrats stole the election – and that future vote counts or court cases would result in a reversal of the popular vote and, consequently, a reversal in the Electoral College.

Contrary to the portrayal of the Democrat and mendacious media, voting against certification of individual states is not … repeat, not … an insurrection or coup.  In fact, it is fairly common.  A number of Democrat legislators voted against the certification of Trump’s 2016 election.  Were they coup-plotters?

Those on the left have taken hyperbole into hyper-space.  Not only are they falsely claiming that there was a real coup attempt – with real coup plotters – but they allege it came perilously close to succeeding. WHAAAT!!!!!

Folks like MSNBC favorite “historian” John Meacham has said as much.  With a straight face, he tells the American people that we nearly lost the Republic on January 6th.  A couple hours of rioting and the Congress was back in business certifying the election of President Biden.

As my readers know, I am not a fan of Trump’s personality. I am a constant critic of his pugnacious and bellicose nature.  I think many of his problems are self-made.  And I have written commentaries about his inexplicable behavior at times.  I think he allowed his personality to distract from his many good accomplishments as President.  I do believe that his personality is a significant part of the reason Democrats made the gains they did in 2018 – and why he is not in the Oval Office today.

But recognizing his shortcomings should not blind us from the Democrats double-fault – their dangerous left-wing agenda and the biased, dishonest and disgusting way they have gone after Trump, Republicans and conservatives – and the people who supported them in the polling booth.

They have used basic fictional scaremongering narratives to claim Trump colluded with Russia to win the 2016 election – and he was even an asset and agent of Russian President Vladimir Putin.  Remember how they claimed Trump was violating the “emoluments clause” by profiting off the presidency?  Then there was the narrative that Trump would start a war to retain power.   He was going to fire Special Counsel Robert Mueller.  And now we have the coup narrative.

But they have not stopped there.   They’re claiming the coup is still in the offing.  They predicted that the coup mobs would return to Capital Hill.  They did not.  And they claimed that the Trump coup-plotters would be taking to the streets in city after city.  They did not.  They are not issuing baseless warning about an August uprising.  I doubt that will happen.  But I do believe if a dozen folks show up on a street corner with signs saying the election was stolen, the corrupt press will play it up like another invasion of Normandy.

What all these foreboding narratives have in common is that they were given maximum publicity over long periods of time – but without any evidence.  And the best evidence that these narratives were propaganda poppycock was that none of them even happened –not even the coup.

There was no coup.  There was no sedition.  And there was no insurrection or coup-plotters apart from POSSIBLY a few delusional nutcases involved in the Capitol Hill riot – and maybe not even them.

We need to keep in mind that conservatives favor limited government – diversified among the several states – and lots of personal freedom.  We do not like authoritarianism.  The left, however, loves big government – the very milieu of authoritarians.  The left prefers one-party rule.  We hear it from people like the Washington Post’s Eugene Robinson, who specifically called for the Republican Party to be “wiped out … crushed” – and that sentiment has been echoed by numerous guests on CNN and MSNBC.  Hmmm.  Now who is sounding like Nazis? … and communists?  I never thought of wiping out the political opposition as an American value.

All the scripts the left has written in the past four years have generally withered away in time.  The coup script would be more in keeping with a Gilbert and Sullivan musical comedy.  It is really quite entertaining if you do not take it too seriously.

So, there ‘tis.

    Lol.
What I find funny is that of all people, as a Special Forces Operator, General Millie would be the IDEAL candidate to lead a coup, as he has no doubt orchestrated a few over his career. And yet trump out the thought and effort into allowing his pettiness to not have the General help him.
Trump only hires the best people I guess.

    • I'm Here

Please don’t waste our time with with your “guessing”.

He has to guess. His dead brain isn’t capable of knowledge

    • paul Martin

      well said!

  2. Terry Nicholson

What a bunch of lies. The Democrats and liberals and Soros did the coup through the fraudulent 2020 election. They should ALL be sent to Gitmo.

    • paul Martin

      AMEN!!!

    • Recce1

Please, remember, you can’t send US citizens to GITMO unless captured on a FOREIGN battlefield with the enemy.

      • larry Horist

True. And we do not know if Trump made such a recommendation … only that it was reported from (as usual) anonymous sources. Neither Trump no anyone who might have heard such a comment has come forward. It was not long ago that such sourceless reports were considered unethical in journalism. I cannot deny or confirm Trump said it, nor can you are anyone else, including those who reported it. Also unethical was repeating stories from other publication with out confirming independently. All these abuses are now called journalism..

    Cry me a river, losers.

    Maybe it’s all true.

    • Nitpicker

      Maybe it’s total nonsense.

  4. Frank stetson

Then again, maybe it’s all true.

Just like you don’t need the vaccine that Trump’s entire family got in secret. Not true either, right.

The perpetrators of the coup will never face justice, but the ones answering the false Trump narrative will go down hard.

Enough of the coup, lock em all up.

    • Nitpicker

Or then again, 200 unarmed fools taking over the country is a damn far stretch!

      • larry Horist

It is such a far stretch that you could not even make a movie on that idea. The greater danger to our democracy and personal freedoms come from those who legally occupy the Capital Building — not some rioters who create disruption for a couple hours.

    • Nitpicker

Or then again, 200 unarmed protestors taking over the government is quite a damn stretch!

    • Nitpicker

Nah, it’s B.S. If it was so easy the Dems would bring in Antifa and that would that!

    • larry Horist

Frank … you are making up stories. I am a proponent of getting vaccinated, so it is dishonest for you to imply I have said people don’t need it. And your silly statement that Trump got the vaccine in secret is utter nonsense. How did you find out if it was such a secret? I learned about it from the news when he got it. I also heard him encourage people to get vaccinated. It might be fair to argue he has not been forceful enough in his encouragement … but do not make up false stories. Those rioting on Capitol Hill are getting justice — and so far no indictments for insurrection, sedition or a coup. I would not be surprised if a hand full of characters face more severe charges, but apparently that vast majority of those beaching the Capitol Building are going to get typical rioting charges — trespassing, vandalism, assault, etc. I am all for arresting and prosecuting the rioters — but I still wonder why those doing so much more — looting, arson, battery, etc — are always given a get out of jail free card in all those riots around the country. Is it because those other rioters were only destroy the common folks neighborhoods?

  5. Ben

Larry, The scary part of this situation, true or not, is that you voted for (twice) a guy so morally bankrupt that most of the world thought,” sure I could see trump trying a coup”.
That’s why personal ethics used to matter so much… especially to the “family values” republicans.

The greatest trick the devil ever played was to convince evangelicals that the guy that lies, and cheats, has 5 kids by 3 women and cheated on them all, was sent by god to save America. Or maybe it was just Putin that did that.

    • Nitpicker

Or maybe, the real liars were Schiff and Nadler who couldn’t prove any of what you claim.

    • Nitpicker

Or maybe the real liars are Schiff and Nadler who failed to prove any of it; twice!

    • Richard

And, of course, the moral high ground and impeccable ethics no doubt rest in the Clinton’s, Biden’s, Pelosi’s, Schitt’s, etc!
Ben, Go stick your head back up your posterior and get another whiff of methane, don’t use up the oxygen meant for normal folks.

      • Ben

        Richard,
Y’all republicans have this oral and anal fixation. Why is someone on this blog always telling me to stick something up my ass… or suck on something ?
I don’t get it… come with facts or personal opinions , I don’t care… but when your entire post consists of insults and name calling , it tells me that you don’t have a legitimate argument.

        • Recce1

Y’all Republicans? What if I said all you Democrats were puerile caitiffs with a fixation on race and homosexuality? Would that be fair? I don’t think so.

          • Ben

            Recce,
You are right, allow me to correct the sentence to be less abrasive to ALL republicans.
“ Why are so many republicans on this web site have an oral and anal fixation?”

Does that make you feel Better snowflake ?

    • Recce1

The problem in 2016 was that the other choice was a corrupt socialist anti-Constitution traitor. In 2020 it was a corrupt Fabian socialist mentally declining CCP owned client. Sometimes you vote for the lesser of two evils. Who was the last presidential candidate you believe was an upstanding, scandal free, Christian, free-market capitalist, constitutionalist?

But what about those who voted for a prevaricating, illegal drug using, socialist/communist, racist, Muslim, sexually permissive bisexual in 2008? Was he a G*d sent messiah? Or was his god Allah, that ancient Arabian moon god? Didn’t Mr. Obama imply that he’d govern by degree if he had to on several occasions? Also, in light of his attempt to become an anti-Constitution authoritarian, could we also say he might have considered not stepping down after his 2nd term? In fact, didn’t many fear that?

Also, do you believe that G*d is incapable of using ungodly fallen men and women to advance His purpose? As an Pentecostal evangelical, I believed Trump was a very imperfect pugnacious egotist. However, he had not committed treason as in my opinion his opponent had, along with Obama and Panetta. By the way, do you even believe in the Scriptures considering your view of what you believe Satan did?

Also, what evidence is there that Trump colluded with Putin? In fact, doesn’t the evidence point to the high probability that the Obama administration, the DNC, and the Hillary Campaign bought and paid for the Steele Dossier from Russia in an attempt to subvert the 2016 election?

      • Ben

        Recce,
You write that as a “ Pentecostal evangelical”… enough said. You admit to believing in fairy tales, obviously your lack of judgement is compromised.

IF there was a true socialist on the ballot, I would have voted for them in a heart beat. However, every election I’ve voted in has been the choice between a Capitalist Center right Republican and a Capitalist far right Republican.
Y’all have moved soooo far right that Reagan couldn’t get your nomination now a days.

As far as imperfect humans doing good, I do believe that, however there must be some repentance and reconciliation in order to move on, trump has exhibited neither. In your storybook, it is much more likely that the Devil (or Putin, or trump him self) conned you gullible rubes.

Q; How do you milk sheep?
A; tell them the election was stolen and ask for donations.

Evidently Milley wasn’t the o lu one concerned.

Trump is married to a gal raised as a communist by a father who was in the party. Putin that in your pipe n smoke it.

I don’t find it hard to believe him sitting in his dining room, watching his minions attempt to destroy and kill while chortling away. He sure didn’t take any actions to stop them.

Just a bunch of tourists paying their respects; a few bad apples, a handful of Trumpers. What are we up to; like 400 who will pay the full toll for driving that Trump highway? A lot flipping, crying, and begging.

Trump’s “big lie” lawyers about to get sanctioned.or worse next week. The judge is slamming them daily as incompetent or worse. Rudy no practice law here no more. And the NY Fed Prosecutors are just warming up with Trump’s CFO. GA and PA to follow.

Yeah, keep following the guy, keep believing, the graveyards are full of his loyal supporters. Come August, he will rise again. Like swamp gas in Secaucus. . .

    • Nitpicker

You’d like us to believe all that nonsense, but it’s obvious to everyone here that you are infatuated with your own fantasies.

      • Not again

I know Frank is going to bring some aliens in here somewhere, I just know it!

    • Candice

The “Big Lie” is that there was no fraud. The truth is being uncovered daily in Arizona, Pennsylvania, and Georgia.

  8. Frank stetson

Believe what you will, the only opinion above is the chortling comment; the rest are facts easily discovered.

Pick out any fact you see as fantasy. I’ll start. Melanoma’s father was a member of the communist party and she grew up in a communist party household. Trump even invited him to secure areas of the White House. Sweeet.

I really don’t expect to change your mind. It’s just one more brick in Trump’s wall of depravity and, at this point, we are all entrenched.

    • Recce1

Which president got his start in running on a Communist Party ticket? Which president actually ordered the killing of US citizens abroad without Due Process? Which president claimed that authority in the US proper? Which president had media people imprisoned to cover up a conspiracy? Which president actually committed treason?

      • Frank stetson

        1. None
        2. All of them. It’s called war
        3. Trump

Regarding point two. The question involved President Obama’s order to kill an American citizen who had joined ISIS. That was precedent breaking … and illegal.

    • larry Horist

Trump did tell the demonstrates to go home after the rioting started. You can argue that it was not soon enough, but the FACT is that he did make that public statement telling them to disperse. There is one fact you asked to be challenged.

  9. Ben

On second thought, Mr Bolton may be on to something… trump is capable of a coup… because that requires intelligence, advance planning, and critical thinking.
He may be on to something.

    • Anonymous

Or maybe the lack of all that is why he made such a bloody mess of all of it.

And why he continues to flop around with these continuing shenanigans. Only 1 more year to finish the Arizona recount. Can the faithful contribute more please?

    • Ben

      * damn typo,
Bolton has said that trump is NOT capable of a coup, because he doesn’t have the capacity to pull one off.
Sorry about the confusion of not having the not in the sentence.

  10. Big Ed

John Meacham says we almost lost the Republic on January 6. The problem with this is that followers of Trump and recent news stories know that we actually did lose the Republic, but on November 6. When the citizens votes no longer count, when an election can be so easily stolen, when Socialism, an economic system only a few squirrels like can displace free market capitalism without a shot being fired-the Republic is already gone.

  11. Frank stetson

    Yes, you do know.

    And therein lies the rub.

As the Covid rips through your ranks, you will learn what you know, what Carlson and Hannity have told you, what the Don kept secret; you can learn that it’s your own leaded leading down a path of sickness.and death.

Maybe then you might reconsider the big lie, the phantom socialist cabal, fake news, and the rest of the gibberish you’re being fed so someone can make a buck.

We live with your Supremes, learn to accept that you lost, man up and quit whining.

  12. Ben

Larry, the Q Shaman has been declared mentally incapable of standing trial. We didn’t need a professional validation of this theory, knowing that he was a trump cultist/ Republican should have been enough.

  13. frank stetson

Larry, always good to discuss, always feel free to ask for any clarifications.

Sorry, the “you” did not mean Larry. I get you on the Obama thing, although good call by him to DoA this treason, but I was referencing the 2001 Act that has allowed every President since then to send Americans to their deaths without having Congressional approval. Literally all bombs dropped in the past 21 years have been based on that. It should be revoked or re-engineered at this point.

On January 6th, Trump started his speech around noon sending jazzed-up folks to the Capitol promising to join them there. By about 1pm, they were breached the Capitol defenses, Trump was watching on multiple TVs in a converted White Housing dining area. Pipe bomb discovered by Capitol Police at 1pm. At 2:44pm, the first protestor was fatally shot. And hour later, 3 hours after the riots started, three hours after the pipe bomb discovered, at 4:17pm, Donald Trump issued a tweet telling his supporters that they have to go home now, while telling them he loves them, they’re very special. Ten minutes later, someone is trampled to death, ten minutes after that, at 4:32pm, 3 and 1/2 hours after it began, the DC National Guard are deployed by Trumps Acting Defense Secretary. I don’t exactly feel challenged by this less than stellar, apathetic response.

I think it was 5/8/2020 when Trump stated: ““I feel about vaccines like I feel about tests: This is going to go away without a vaccine.”

On March 16th, 2020, Trump said: “I would recommend it to a lot of people that don’t want to get it — and a lot of those people voted for me, frankly,” Trump said. “It’s a great vaccine, it’s a safe vaccine, and it’s something that works.” “But, you know, again, we have our freedoms, and we have to live by that, and I agree with that also.” So, he would recommend to “a lot” of people, but we do have our freedoms….” Not exactly gung ho. And I am not sure he ever said anything like it again.

On April 20th, 2021 Donald Trump said he was asked to do a pro-vaccine PSA because his supporters were rejecting it. He said people should get vaccinated even with the Pfizer/Government collusion to stop Johnson & Johnson’s vaccine pointing to a corrupt vaccination process. He ever did the PSA.

On July 19th, 2021, Donald Trump had the nation’s megaphone and a chance to energize vaccination efforts in the face of the Delta Variant, and he said: “Joe Biden kept talking about how good of a job he’s doing on the distribution of the Vaccine that was developed by Operation Warp Speed or, quite simply, the Trump Administration,” the 45th president said in a statement released via his Save America PAC on Sunday. “He’s not doing well at all. He’s way behind schedule, and people are refusing to take the Vaccine because they don’t trust his Administration, they don’t trust the Election results, and they certainly don’t trust the Fake News, which is refusing to tell the Truth.” Wow, if I was a Trump supporter and hesitant to be vaccinated, that would really get me moving…..

Donald Trump, Melanoma, got the vaccine, in private, in January of 2021, the first citizen got theirs, in public, around 12/14/2020. I think it was first made public, by a Trump advisor, speaking on the basis of anonymity, on March 2, 2021, over 2 months after being jabbed, and not announced by the President until March as well, I think? He’s your guy, I will let you confirm but sure looks like he got it in private, then got outed by an anonymous source, and then went public in a less than gung-ho fashion usually combined it with self congratulations for saving us all, or condemning a broken vaccination process led by his perceived enemies.
