
<p>Twitter Vice President and former FBI lawyer James Baker was fired Tuesday for his role in censoring the now-infamous Hunter Biden laptop story. The story, which exposed some major dirt on Joe Biden’s son Hunter just two weeks before the 2020 presidential election, was immediately dismissed by the liberal media as Russian disinformation.</p>



<p>“In light of concerns about Baker’s possible role in suppression of information important to the public dialogue, he was exited from Twitter,” tweeted Musk.  ;</p>



<p><strong>Though several social media sites took action to minimize readership, Twitter was the only platform to ban <em>The New York Post</em> and lock the accounts of users who attempted to share the story. ;</strong></p>



<p>As exposed by a cache of internal documents published by independent journalist Matt Taibbi last week, Baker was consulting directly with members of the Biden campaign when he insisted the article should be banned per the site’s “hacked materials” policy.</p>



<p>“I support the conclusion that we need more facts to assess whether the materials were hacked,” wrote Baker in an undated email. “At this stage, however, it is reasonable for us to assume that they may have been, and caution is warranted.” ;</p>



<p>Previous efforts to publish the internal documents (since dubbed &#8220;The Twitter Files&#8221;) were stymied by &#8211; you guessed it &#8211; James Baker. Reporters are still combing through the files, confirms Taibbi, and we can expect another installment soon. ;</p>



<p><em>Baker joined Twitter in the summer of 2020 as the site was reeling from its decision to label a handful of then-President Donald Trump&#8217;s tweets about mail-in voting as “misinformation</em>.&#8221; <em>Before joining Twitter, he worked as a CNN analyst and lawyer for the FBI. Baker was directly involved in the agency’s Russia probe and assisted Hillary Clinton ally Michael Sussmann in spreading fabricated stories about Donald Trump and Russia. ;He is expected to be summoned by the House Oversight Committee to testify about his handling of the Hunter Biden laptop story. ;</em></p>
