EgyptAir Jet Crashes, Likely Terror Attack

An EgypAir Jet carryig 66 passenger en route from Paris to Cairo crashed in the Mediterranean Sea after veering sharply off course.  It went down near the Greek Island of Crete.  Thus far there are no signs of survivors.

Egypt’s aviation minister said it was more likely terrorism than mechanical problems. According to BBC, the Airbus 320 made a 90 degree sharp turn to the left then a 360 degree turn right before falling 25000 feet and dropping off of radar. 

Greek traffic controllers spoke to the aircraft earlier and all was fine, however attempts to reach the flight as it was about to enter Egyption airspace went unanswered.  Since aircraft communications are reliable and redundant, it is unlikely the craft would have suffered mechanical problems of this severity without a “mayday” of somekind being sent.

Jean-Paul Troadec, former chief of the French air accident investigation bureau said “A technical problem, a fire or a failed motor do not cause an instant accident and the team has time to react,” he said. “The team said nothing, they did not react, so it was very probably a brutal event and we can certainly think about an attack.”

Some debris has apparently been found, France is sending investigators to assist in the investigation of the crash. Reports say no U.S. citizens were on board.

According to the New York Post, some American official are already speculating a bomb blew the airplane out of the sky. Presidential candidate Donald Trump has already tweeted about this, saying it was terror and blaming it on President Obama.

It is interesting to note such an attack originated from Paris, instead of Cairo. One would thing it would have been easier from a Muslim controlled area.  

Perhaps that is part of the message, the raadical Islam is running free in Paris.
