In the leftist political system, the federal law enforcement is paid not to go after criminals but to attack those who expose the corruption of the government’s sacred cows. The actions of Joe Biden’s Department of Justice (DOJ) are the best illustration of this unwritten policy. In the latest example of such a case, the DOJ has criminally charged the man who alerted them on the corruption of the Bidens.
Last week, Dr. Gal Luft – a US-Israeli dual citizen – suddenly resurfaced after spending months in hiding from the Biden administration. The 57-year-old co-director of the Institute for the Analysis of Global Security provided a video statement to the New York Post that went viral on Twitter and made news widely across the web. In the video, Luft provided details of witnessing the dealings between the Biden family and the Chinese energy company China Energy Fund Committee (CFEC) and his “fatal decision” to bring these dealings to the knowledge of the American government in March 2019. Thus began what Luft calls his “ordeal” that he describes in the video.
Since blowing the whistle on the financial dealings of the Bidens with China before the American authorities, including Hunter Biden’s close ties with a retired FBI official” and a mole within the DOJ, he said the DOJ began its cover-up for the Bidens and made him the “public enemy number one.”
For the next four years, his family and friends were harassed and intimidated before he was finally arrested in Cyprus in February 2023. He was charged with arms trafficking and operating as a Chinese agent but the indictment was not made public. While out on bail, he went into hiding.
Luft challenged the DOJ to in his video statement make his indictment, and they took his call for an open battle.
The DOJ unsealed the indictment on Monday (July 10), days after Gal Luft’s video statement made news, bringing federal criminal charges of arm trafficking, working as an unregistered Chinese agent, and brokering oil deals between Iran and China in violation of U.S. sanctions on Iranian oil.
In his video, Luft questioned how come the CFEC was allowed to operate as a public charity registered in Virginia and not marked as a foreign entity while it made major donations to the Clinton Foundation and Columbia University.
He demanded that the FBI provide to the congress the minutes of the Brussels meeting between him and the DOJ team.
The news of indictment of Luft was at once followed by criticism of DOJ’s selective prosecution of a whistleblower while sparing the President’s son. Breitbart asked how come the DOJ charged Luft for failing to comply with the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA), but has spared Hunter Biden for doing the same.
Though Luft faces FARA charges, critics note that Hunter Biden has never been charged with the same, despite acting as a representative for foreign companies and officials.
On Tuesday, National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan was asked the same question by the New York Post reporter Steven Nelson at a White House press briefing. Sullivan declined to comment.
Following the video statement of Dr. Luft, Republican Senator Ron Johnson told Fox News that the DOJ went after this important witness against the Bidens to silence him. He added that Dr. Luft needs to be granted immunity as a whistleblower and be allowed to testify before the congress.
