DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz Ousted from DNC Convention
According to CNN and other sources, DNC Chairman Debbie Wasserman Schultz has been removed from the speaking schedule in the wake of the leak of 20,000 emails that revealed a substantial bias toward Hillary Clinton and againt Bernie Sanders.
The DNC Rules Committee has rescinded Wasserman Schultz’s position as convention chairwoman, naming Rep. Marcia Fudge of Ohio as the permanent chair of the convention.
Among the emails release was one that appears to show DNC staffers askiing how Bernie Sanders’ faith can be used against him in the South (he is an irreligious Jew). Another appears to show a DNC attorney giving advice on how to defend Hillary against the Sanders campaign accusations of defaulting on a joint fundraising agreement.
“I am not an atheist,” Sanders said. “But aside from all of that, it is an outrage and sad that you would have people in important positions in the DNC trying to undermine my campaign. It goes without saying, the function of the DNC is to represent all of the candidates — to be fair and even-minded.”
Bernie Sanders has also called for her resignation. “I told you long time ago that the DNC was not running a fair operation, that they were supporting Secretary Clinton,” Sanders told ABC News.
Editor’s note: I’m a long time anti-fan off Wasserman Schultz, and would be glad to see her go. But what about Hillary’s role in this? Certainly she knew of the bias, is was obvious to anyone who watched the primaries with more than a passing interest.
With this development, perhaps Trump is wise to woo Sanders’ supporters.
And if he didn’t release it, would that prove Trump is guilty? You do know that Trump reviewed the document…
