<p>There is an element within the Trump Derangement Syndrome folks that is living in some sort of fantasy land – personified by actor Robert De Niro. They see Trump as so dangerous that he must be removed from office immediately. “We cannot allow him to continue in office,” they chime. They reject the idea of Trump serving out his term.</p>

<p>It goes beyond De Niro. The extreme and irrational hysterical coalition goes beyond one nutcase actor. It is found all over the Internet – including one of my college classmates on Facebook. He wants Trump out immediately.</p>

<p>I find the messaging quite disturbing since there is only one way that they can achieve their goal of immediate removal &#8212; assassination. And there is no doubt that their rhetoric promotes the idea, even if unstated. By claiming Trump is an existential threat to the Republic – and all who call it home – they can create the necessity of removing him <strong>by any means</strong> in the minds of those who are seventy-five cents short of a dollar.</p>

<p>The solicitation goes on to say that “Donald Trump is growing more dangerous by the day, so Robert De Niro issued a WAKE-UP CALL to Democrats ;EVERYWHERE.” To do what? Remove him <strong>by any means</strong>? We have seen the results of that kind of incitement in two assassination attempts, several aborted attempts and an uptick in death threats against the President.</p>

<p>Yes, there are other options – impeachment with a conviction by the Senate and the 25th Amendment. De Niro &; Company should know, however, that those options are non-starters. There is no way that the Senate – even if Democrats were to take control – will vote to remove Trump from office. The odds are within a sliver of zero.</p>

<p>As far as the 25th Amendment is concerned, the odds are at absolute zero. It would require the support of the Cabinet and Vice President. And even then, it is only temporary. The President can reclaim the office. Since it has never been tested, the 25th Amendment is a constitutional minefield.</p>

<p>(The 25th Amendment has prompted an interesting question. If a President’s second term is cut short, is he eligible to run again? We have a possible precedent. When a Vice President takes over upon the death of a President, it counts as a “term” for the Vice President if it occurs in the first two years of the deceased President’s term. But it is considered a first term for the Vice President if the ascension occurs in the last two years. It is an issue that the Supreme Court would resolve. But I digress)</p>

<p>Di Nero is venting his spleen in a fundraising email from something called the StopTrumpPAC &#8212; an affiliate of the Progressive Turnout Project. They are seeking petition signatures and, of course, money to remove Trump ostensibly by the 25th Amendment even though they most certainly know that will never happen – and certainly not as the result of some hopeless meaningless petition drive. One could reasonably argue that the StopTrumpPAC solicitation is outright fraudulent – asking for money for something that will never happen. It is no more credible than raising money to have the tooth fairy take Trump away in his sleep.</p>

<p> The solicitation reads: “So, if we fall a single signature short, our petition will be ignored. We’re begging sign now to invoke the 25th Amendment and remove Trump from office.”</p>

<p>De Niro says Trump will not voluntarily leave. So what comes next?</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image aligncenter size-full"><img src="https://punchingbagpost.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/image.png" alt="" class="wp-image-35191"/></figure>

<p>De Niro and the folks at the StopTrumpPAC will swear they are not promoting violence, even if it is the only logical conclusion. They know the 25th Amendment will not accomplish their mission. So, what is left? Any low IQ nutcase with a gun and figure that out. And so can De Niro. Personally, I think he would be perfectly happy if a deranged left-wing whacko hitman (or woman) took out Trump. And then they would say it is his own fault.</p>

<p>If there is a dangerous character in the mix, it is not Trump. It is De Niro. Perhaps it is all those mobsters he played on screen have embedded in his brain and make him the pugnacious Mafia-style thug he has become in real life.</p>

<p>Many people on both sides talk about the need to tone down the rhetoric. Apparently, De Niro did not get the memo.</p>

<p>So, there ‘tis.</p>

Di Nero is Getting Nuttier by the Minute
