Democrats Shielding Illegal Aliens in Food Stamps Fraud Inquiry
In the dark age of America under Joe Biden, when inflation was soaring, the federal government put as many people on federally funded food stamps as it could, including illegal aliens it brought into the country. Now Democrats are blocking the Trump administration’s effort to make states account for those funds. Hence the rhetorical question: what are they hiding?
Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) reportedly serves over 42 million people across the country. The Biden administration extended its benefits to illegal aliens so generously that hardworking American taxpayers were left wondering why their tax money is being showered on those who should never have been allowed into the country.
The Trump administration, after taking office in January 2025, started asking the states to provide details of the recipients of SNAP funds. The purpose of this information requested from the states was to determine the level of fraud, waste, and/or abuse in the program. Aside from individual instances of fraud reported here and there, blue states in general reported most cases of SNAP fraud. As reported in Newsweek in June this year, citing data from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Food and Nutrition Service, the top three states with most SNAP fraud cases are New York ($80 million), California ($38 million), and Maryland ($24 million).
The Trump administration also wanted to know how many illegal aliens were enrolled for the SNAP benefits and this made the Democrats tick. In July, Democrat attorneys general from 21 states and the District of Columbia (D.C.) sued the Trump administration against the demand to reveal details of who received SNAP benefits. Led by California, the lawsuit was filed in a federal court by attorneys general and/or Governors of the states of California, New York, Arizona, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Illinois, Kentucky (by the Office of the Governor), Maine (by the Office of the Governor), Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, Oregon, Rhode Island, Washington, and Wisconsin.
Reporting on the lawsuit, the Associated Press cited California’s Attorney General Rob Bonta condemning the Trump administration’s demand for the identity of those who received the SNAP funds while spilling the reason of his opposition to the federal government’s requirement. He expressed the fear that it would reveal the identity of the illegal aliens benefiting from the program and thus become subject to deportation:
“SNAP recipients provided this information to get help feeding their families, not to be entered into a government surveillance database or be used as targets in the president’s inhumane immigration agenda.”
I honestly don’t get these urban myths and there is much confusion over what the Fed does, what the States do, and what is defined as what benefits. But basically, Dempsey lies: “The Biden administration extended its benefits to illegal aliens so generously that hardworking American taxpayers were left wondering why their tax money is being showered on those who should never have been allowed into the country.” Undocumented immigrants are not eligible for major federal benefits, they can’t get Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security (even if they pay in, and many do), SNAP, Welfare, etc. It’s the 1996 law passed under the Democrat: Bill Clinton. Called the Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act (PRWORA). However, some groups may access certain services depending on their status, passed under Biden, and state laws, passed by the States. About 14 States have programs and yes, they are all blue. State laws asshole. For major benefit programs.
Biden introduced policies that expanded eligibility for certain benefits for some immigrant groups. Dempsey has no clue what’s going on and just wings it with lies. The Biden administration finalized plans in May 2024 to expand government-subsidized health insurance to Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) recipients, a group of immigrants brought to the U.S. as children. As many as 100,000 previously uninsured DACA holders were expected to be able to enroll. Oh my, the horror of treating folks here for a quarter century as being here for 25 years. Also in 2024, the administration created a parole-in-place program for undocumented immigrants married to U.S. citizens who had lived in the country for at least 10 years. This provided work permits and protection from deportation, creating a streamlined path to permanent residency for an estimated 500,000 spouses and 50,000 stepchildren. Only stupid shits would extend DACA changes to all undocumented. Damn, ten years, married, working, oh the horror of it all.
Under the 1996 federal law, undocumented immigrants are not eligible for major federal benefits like Medicare, Medicaid, or food stamps (SNAP). However, certain demographics can access some services and some benefits like:
• Emergency services: Hospitals are reimbursed through Emergency Medicaid for emergency medical care provided to low-income individuals from anywhere. Don’t like it, change the law.
• Food: The kids get WIC: SNAP for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC), which provides nutrition assistance, is one of the few federal programs for which undocumented immigrants are eligible, for the kids. You hate kids too?
• A few states, 14, have created their own programs to provide health care or other benefits to undocumented immigrants.
Trump took actions to reverse many of the Biden-era policies concerning immigrant benefits.
• DACA health coverage reversed, Welfare ban to stop giving food to kids, yup, I guess you do hate kids.
• In October of 2026, Other lawfully present immigrants, including refugees and asylum seekers without a green card, will become ineligible for Medicaid and CHIP starting October 1, 2026 so we can cut kids from health care as well as food.
• Trump will also strip legal immigrants from ACA insurance credits as well as Child Tax Benefits even though they are legal, working, and paying taxes.
• Trump even signed an EO that specifies immigrants cannot be eligible for benefits they are not eligible for today. That’s just fucking deranged, but, that’s the edict from Trump.
