Democrats Fumble to Exploit Man’s Fake Seizure Act during ICE Arrest
Embarrassing themselves in political stunts comes natural to liberals and now when their frustration over deportation of illegal aliens is soaring, they are frantically toying with antics on the street. Last Friday, liberal lunacy danced around a new stunt a man pulled during an ICE arrest in Massachusetts.
On Thursday (November 6), U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) stopped a car in Fitchburg, MA, to arrest an illegal alien from Ecuador named Juliana Milena Ojeda-Montoya. The woman has been living illegally in the country since she came here illegally during the Biden’s open-border years. She has a criminal record of a violent attack on a coworker this past August.
When ICE stopped the car carrying Ojeda-Montoya along with her husband – also an illegal alien from Ecuador – in the driving seat, she had her young child on her lap upfront instead of a safe child seat in the back. Seeing that ICE agents would arrest them for deportation, her husband suddenly started shaking as if having a seizure. The woman quickly forced the child into the arms of her husband and a scene of chaotic family hysteria was created, all caught on video.
It’s easy to guess what would happen next. Democrats pounced into action, meaning into echoing the hysteria on social media and pretending that they champion humanity by calling out the Trump administration and specially ICE for cruel treatment of a family that led to the man having seizure while his little daughter cried in his arms.
On November 7, as if in a coordinated social media campaign, the nearly 25 second video of the scene was shared by many prominent Democrats on their social media accounts. This included several elected officials. Democrat Congresswoman from CA Norma Torres called ICE “out of control” and guilty of inhumane acts of cruelty.
Democrat Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley of MA called it a “sickening example of Trump and ICE’s blatant disregard for humanity.”
MA Senator Ed Markey called for ICE to be held accountable for its “inhumane, illegal actions.”
Leftist news sites like Common Dreams published stories about the incident serving the Democratic Party’s political campaign to paint ICE and the Trump administration as villains while the illegal alien couple as a victim of ICE’s recklessness.
But all this came crashing down when the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) responded to the liberal hubbub with a reality check. On November 7, DHS posted the details of the arrest incident and stated that Ojeda-Montoya was asked to hand her child to her husband so they could take her into custody without any incident. But she refused repeatedly until her husband faked a seizure at which moment she suddenly joined the act and put the baby in the father’s arms.
However, as DHS clarified, Carlos Zapata Rivera faked the seizure as when ICE called 911 on seeing him shaking, he refused medical treatment and suddenly appeared alright with no signs of any medical concern. He also at first refused to take custody of the child. DHS wrote:
Once Zapata Rivera realized he would be arrested for immigration violations if he did not agree to take custody of the child, he suddenly decided to be a good father and left with the child.
To complete the dive of liberal lawmakers into embarrassment, DHS posted these details of the incident in comments to Congresswoman Pressley’s X post. The Democrat lawmaker was left struggling for saving face and demanded that DHS release the full body camera footage as well as release the identity of the agents involved in the incident.
Conservatives took this opportunity to mock liberal activists for their failed political stunt. They also questioned whether Democrat activists have been coaching such illegal aliens to create such “made for YouTube” scenes to influence public opinion.
The Democrats have since gone quiet on the story. But don’t be surprised to see more theatre of the sort as they campaign for next year’s midterm election.
