Democrats for Hamas

Democrats for Hamas

There is universal agreement that President Biden gave a very strong speech in support of Israel – and offered a few preliminary actions.  In my judgment, it was the best speech he has ever given.  The message was strong and clear.  We can only hope the follow-up is as strong.

It was not perfect, however.  His failure to address Iran is a major drawback.  He did not take action to freeze the $6 billion still in Qatar banks from the hostage exchange – as has been called for from many directions.  It would have hit at Iran – and he seems reluctant to do that.  He did not stand for any questions from the press.  Instead, mostly dodged questions rather than answering them.

But … even as Biden expressed undying support for Israel, his Democrats in Congress and elsewhere were singing off a much different song sheet.  The anti-Israel faction of the Democratic Party was in full force.

The person who drew the most attention was Michigan Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib.  She not only expressed support for Hamas even as the atrocities on the ground were being reported, but she also posted the Palestinian flag – essentially the Hamas flag – at the door of her congressional office and proudly posed for photos alongside it.

Tlaib went even further down the path of evil.  She refused to condemn the carnage in Israel.  She remained silent when reporters asked her view on the murders of more than one thousand innocent men, women, and children – of rapes and beheadings – as she walked down the hallways of Congress.  Asked if she did not care about Jewish lives, Tlaib remained silent – scurrying away from a reporter and shielded by a staffer.

It is an easy question to answer no matter your view on the larger issues, no one … NO ONE … can morally remain silent in the face of such grotesque atrocities when silence means approval.   But Tlaib could.

I have never been in favor of kicking folks out of Congress.  That is for the people to decide.  But I do believe that Tlaib should be condemned by resolution and stripped of her committee assignments.

What is even more disturbing is that so many of the Democrat leaders and members of Congress remained silent over Tlaib’s un-American position.  I say “un-American” because Tlaib has set herself in total opposition to American policy on the issue of Israel and the war as laid out by the President of her own party.

When asked to respond about Tlaib, such leaders as former Speaker Nancy Pelosi had no comment.  South Carolina Congressman James Clyburn had no comment.  Others merely said that Tlaib has a right to her opinion.  If there were any voices of condemnation, they did not appear in the newscasts – although there seems to have been some backlash on Capitol Hill.  No condemnation from the White House.

The Democrat members of what can be described as the anti-Israel caucus (aka The Squad) have not been so silent.  Virtually all of them have expressed anti-Israel and antisemitic comments before and during their service in the House – even to condemn the killing of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard terrorist commander.  They opposed Biden’s arm sales to Israel.  After the attack on Israel, several repeated anti-Israel tropes.  The Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) held a rally in New York City in support of the Hamas attack – a town with a large Jewish population.  Members of Congress who are also members of the DSA include Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Rashida Tlaib, Cori Bush, Ilhan Omar, Jamaal Bowman, and Greg Casar.

But the Democrats’ anti-Israel sentiment is reflected in their leftwing grassroots supporters.  The nations academics are overwhelming leftwing Democrats – and antisemitism is prevalent in both the faculties and the student bodies they indoctrinate.  Following the vicious attack on the people of Israel by barbaric Hamas terrorists, 30 – count them, 30 — Harvard campus organizations signed a joint communique blaming Israel. It was titled the “Joint Statement by Harvard Palestine Solidarity Groups on the Situation in Palestine.”

The coalition included the African American Resistance Organization, Amnesty International, Arab Society, Asian American Women’s Association, Black Students Association, Black Women’s Health Collective, Coalition for a Diverse Harvard, College Democrats, College Events Board, College Republicans, Divest Harvard, Environmental Action Committee, First Generation Harvard Alumni, Harvard African Students Association, Harvard Bhangra, Harvard Black Law Students Association, Harvard Black Men’s Forum, Harvard Islamic Society, Harvard Jews for Liberation, Harvard Latinx Student Alliance, Harvard Minority Association of Pre-Medical Students, Harvard Palestine Solidarity Committee, Harvard Progressive Jewish Alliance, Harvard South Asian Association, Harvard Undergraduate Legal Committee, Harvard Women in Computer Science, Indigenous Peoples Rights Club, Korean Association of Harvard College, Muslim Students Association and the  Progressive Jewish Alliance.

I thought it was important to name them all.  It has been reported that some have withdrawn their signature because of the backlash.  It is unlikely that any of these groups will be disbanded by Harvard as hate groups. The left does not hate its own hate groups.

It is interesting to note that the leftwing antisemitism is found in both the campus Democrat and Republican organizations.  It includes a number of groups that claim to have Jewish membership.  And there are a number of Black originations, suggesting that the historic tension between Jews and Blacks has moved from the urban neighborhoods to the campuses.   This is also seen in the expression of support for Hamas from Black Lives Matter – a grifter racist organization that has misused millions of dollars of donations for the personal enrichment of the leadership.

The fact that the Harvard statement includes Blacks, Native Americans, Asians and Indian groups suggests that the Democrats attempt to cobble together “people of color” as a group is not producing the best results in terms of race and cultural hatred.

The leftwing media protects the Democratic Party by not covering – or minimally covering (with spin) — the facts and examples of the deeply embedded antisemitism in the Democratic Party.  In fact, the most leftwing Democrats in cable news – mostly on MSNBC – engaged in anti-Israel reporting even as missiles were falling on the people of Israel.  It was so bad that one Jewish guest angrily ask if Hamas was writing their scripts.

There are – and have long been – racist and antisemitic fringe groups, but they are small in number and exist apart from the major institutions of government.  Democrat antisemitism flourishes in the core of government, in the media and in America’s educational institutions.  If I were Jewish, that would concern me a lot. The antisemitism of Hitler and his Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei (Nazi Party) were relatively insignificant until they gained power through the levers of government and control of the media.

It is certainly legitimate to have policy differences with the State of Israel, but the wave of pro-Palestinian (Hamas) support – a group that wants to wipe Israel off the map and exterminate Jews – has become virulent antisemitism.

So, there ‘tis.

“The U.S. and Qatar have reached an agreement to prevent Iran from accessing $6 billion recently unfrozen as part of a prisoner swap, the deputy treasury secretary told lawmakers on Thursday, sources confirmed to ABC News.” ABC News

I have noted this twice before. Why do you keep lying? How much else of this is total fabrication?

    • Joe lucas

No Frank. You’re the one lying

  2. larry Horist

Frank Stetson … because at the time of this writing, it had not been held back or temporarily frozen. That does not change the greater issue of offering it to Iran –and it is only a temporary freeze. Paying ransom is never a good policy — even if it is Iran’s money. That is why we seize assets of rogue governments .. so the do not have more money to give to terrorists. And this so-called humanitarian money only frees up other funds for terrorists. You cannot escape childish insults and bad information. That is why YOU LOSE.

    • frank stetson

It was published by NBC on the 12th. You published on the 14th. I published here with the NBC source on another of your stories ahead of your piece as well. I’ll give you the timing Mulligan, the NBC post took a pretty good researcher to find.

Of course, paying ransom is bad business, does not change your posting time. I agree with you that your story was a bad posting in that regard, it was bad information, and I excuse your childish insults but glad you own up to them.

We are talking about international affairs, and I am pretty sure that you and I will either win or lose — together. No matter how much you desire to hurt me over this affair where we both agree it is just and proper for Israel to react this way. Think I even used the word: measured.

I am sorry if adding new information, correcting your outdated information has put you in a snit. I wouldn’t have mentioned the lying except you kept on doing it. Twice at least.

  3. Frank stetson

Prove it Joe. Prove NBC, ABC, and DailyMail are liars. Come on big guy. Show us.

You won’t. You cant. And you’re not man enough to admit it I’m betting.

    • Joe lucas

Go bet. You can’t prove anything you dumbass.

    • Robin W Boyd

Sorry, Frank, but the onus is on you to back up your claims. I don’t know who is correct, but it would be nice if someone would post something that backs up their claims as to who is misinforming others here.

      • frank stetson

Robin, all the sources, including Fox, Forbes, The New York Sun and other right-leaning rags are listed below, have been for awhile. The first source, NBC, was in the original post.

I was called a liar for posting this backed up claim; I honestly don’t believe I need to back up his claim as to my lie, which was already backed up once. And now over a half dozen times including right, left and middle publications.

      • larry Horist

Robin W Boyd …. Frank has a constant mantra that he backs up his claims. But you need to consider the backup. They are mostly media reports that give his spin to an issue. I do not engage in his requests for tit-for-tat bickering because most folks understand that it is easy to find sources on the Internet who will support almost any claim. Of course, Frank alleges that HIS sources are accurate and all the others are not. That is just not true. If you study the bigger picture, you will find that Frank is not a good source of creditable or knowledgeable information. He is an leftwing obsessive contrarian given to rants and screeds. Those who bother to read his stuff eventually figure that out.

        • frank stetson

Mr Horist —- it was a freeze on the money —– where’s the spin in that sir?

Horist says: “That is just not true.” Of course, NO PROOF.

“He is an leftwing obsessive contrarian given to rants and screeds.” A weak man relies on name calling when he can’t bring relevant facts to bear. Like saying something is not true just because YOU say it. BUSTED. You are posting rants and screeds all the time; mostly full of baggage from the 60’s when such garbage had some relevance.

And you had a hissy fit calling me names and such. You really should stop this or I will reply in equal or better measure and that always makes you sad. I would like to avoid that.

You’re the best they have here, too bad you can’t toe the line and debate with an honest effort.

On this one, I proved you wrong and I listed over a half dozen sources, the dates, etc. and a number were conservative rags. You said I was CORRECT and you suffered from timing. I also showed you were WRONG on the timing, but gave you the mulligan since it would take a real researcher to find the initial accounting.

  4. frank stetson

You did not prove the converse and again, I quoted NBC, ABC, and DailyMail.

Also The Guardian, Washington Post, Fox News, Forbes, Free Beacon, The New York Sun and I could go on….and on….

Pretty sure that I proved it, you got nothing, and everyone can see who is what.

But keep going. What’s next: flat earth?

    • Joe lucas

There’s no truth in you or your commie propaganda sources. Watch newsmax and fox.

  5. frank stetson

One of the sources is Fox News.

Can you really be this stupid?

Did NEWSMAX tell you it did not happen and that Fox, NBC, ABC, The Guardian, Washington Post, Forbes, Free Beacon, The New York Sun are wrong?

Is your tin foil hat really that tight?

    • Joe lucas

      You’re still a liar.

    • Old Patriot

You seem to only go by the dnc(CCP) propaganda sources

      • frank stetson

Yes, Fox, Forbes, The New York Sun, and Free Beacon all dnc (CCP) propaganda sources according to an Old Patriot, or is that Old Idiot….

I just can’t believe so many people don’t believe the believable in juxtaposition to their ready belief in the unbelievable.

        Just can’t fix it.

  6. frank stetson

Perhaps. But on this one, you did not prove it. A real man, a gentleman, would fess up.

    • Joe lucas

A gentleman is a guy who works as a gynecologist without getting a hard on.

  7. LMB

Sadly, we will have to wait and see if Qatar follows through with the agreement!! I for one don’t trust any of the Muslim countries! Per their Koran, they don’t have to tell the truth to us so-called infidels! It’s NOT the Jews causing all this killing/murder/rape in the world!! It’s the ARAB’S and their sick ideology/theology that’s causing these atrocities!!! The Muslim country’s factions attack Israel all the time!! Israel needs to Crush these inhuman beasts following Islamic theology!!!

    • Old Patriot

      That is the actual truth

    • frank stetson

LMB: good points. I don’t know about all Muslim countries being truthful, Trump loves Turkey for example. But I agree that the proof is in the pudding and Qatar is economically tied to Iran and therefore on pretty good terms.

Remember this is Iranian money created by Trump’s pullout of the Iranian nuclear deal. While Trump had most countries wind down Iranian oil purchases via bans, he allowed Sth Korea and India to purchase for some strange reason. SK had to sequester the Iranian payments which is what this money actually is.

But you are correct, trust but verify. And you don’t even trust.

Now, crushing people for being Islamic is as stupid and harmful as Hamas. Congratulations on making the grade.

    • larry Horist

LMB ,,, The head of Hamas lives in Qatar. He is the guy who called for a worldwide jihad. Shouldn’t Biden be taking him out?

  8. andy

How come we do not see any commentary from Horist about Hamas’ longest and biggest supporter, Netanyahu himself? Thanks to Netanyahu not only promoting Hamas over the years but his obscene focus on turning Israel into a Nazi state enabled Hamas to attack Israel with virtual impunity.

    • larry Horist

andy … Because I write commentary, not fiction.

  9. Robin W Boyd

The U.S. has been continually eaten away from the inside since 1912, mainly by Communists and Socialists embedded in the U.S. government, media and military. Today, the U.S. is being eaten away from the inside by an additional enemy, Islam. No Muslim can loyally serve the U.S. because it conflicts with their loyalty to Islam. No one who cannot give an oath of loyalty to the U.S. as a Constitutional Republic and to all American citizens should be allowed to work in the U.S. government in any position, elected, appointed or hired. These enemies of the state are being paid by American workers tax dollars to destroy the hand that feeds them.

    Empty words without ACTION . . .

  11. frank stetson

IMO, I condemn the attacks and look forward to Israel getting justice for these crimes. I wish them success and safety.

That said, its is possible to hate apartheid and brutality at the same time. However, it is not the time to beat the apartheid drum, it’s time to blame Hamas for what has and is happening. Talib has not done anything wrong here; it’s just that she didn’t step up and do the right thing either. To say Israel did not participate in creating the conditions of frustration would be untrue. We also are participants in that. Likewise, the Abrams Accords, while IMO the greatest piece of Trumpian work out there, might have further made Hamas feel they were in an ever-shrinking box, being cut off as Israel becomes normalized in the Middle East. None of this is cause for violence and abdominal war crimes.

There is no excuse for violence, much less barbarism, to which Hamas is guilty of both. No matter Talib’s stand on apartheid, she not only should have stood up first (opportunity), but should be re-focusing now, not necessarily walking anything back, but getting ahead of herself by breaking her silence on her Hamas feelings. It’s getting to be a week now; it’s time to speak up and explain what you think Talib.

Talib is a Palestinian American who wants to see apartheid over. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that view. Horist says: “She not only expressed support for Hamas even as the atrocities on the ground were being reported, but she also posted the Palestinian flag – essentially the Hamas flag – at the door of her congressional office and proudly posed for photos alongside it.” I can not find where Talib supported Hamas in this as the atrocities were happening. While she did not condemn Hamas by name she did say: “I grieve the Palestinian and Israeli lives lost yesterday, today, and every day. I am determined as ever to fight for a just future where everyone can live in peace, without fear and with true freedom, equal rights, and human dignity. The path to that future must include lifting the blockade, ending the occupation, and dismantling the apartheid system that creates the suffocating, dehumanizing conditions that can lead to resistance. The failure to recognize the violent reality of living under siege, occupation, and apartheid makes no one safer. No person, no child anywhere should have to suffer or live in fear of violence. We cannot ignore the humanity in each other. As long as our country provides billions in unconditional funding to support the apartheid government, this heartbreaking cycle of violence will continue.” I do not see Hamas support in that, just the support of the end of apartheid in Israel. I would love to hear her call Hamas out for what it is, think it’s fair game to ask her this over and over, but she did not defend Hamas. And Horist saying “NO ONE … can morally remain silent in the face of such grotesque atrocities when silence means approval” is bullshit. Silence is silence. Especially on an issue so loaded with emotion. For a man who disdains anyone taking a stab at what Horist means or thinks in the harshest of terms and name calling, suddenly he’s mind-melding with Talib over a non response to a question from the scrum. Seems a little quick on the draw from Horist. However, it’s getting close to a week, one would expect clarification early next week, at that point I would say silence means no comment and given Talib’s history, the fact she is first — a US Representative, she owes a comment. She has got to speak up this week or be totally trashed for it. At it’s simplest sense, it’s easy: Palestinians are great; Hamas sucks. Apartheid sucks, Hamas should blow dog dicks in hell, and they will, soon.

There’s 2 million Palestinians in Gaza, and 3 million in the West Bank. Gaza is Hamas, West Bank is controlled by Fatah, not Hamas and Fatah is considered as the Palestinians Authority. As such, the flag is Palestine’s, not Hamas. I think Horist is wrong in that and people reacting to the Palestinian flag with a Hamas reaction would be overly reactionary and unfair. The Hamas flag is completely different. The Palestinian flag represents Palestine, not Hamas, and Hamas does not represent Palestine, just a portion of the Gaza strip.

In closing, and before you get ballistic:
    1. Hamas bad, must be destroyed
    2. Apartheid bad, something should be done, but no need to discuss or focus on it now
    3. Talib no like violence, no like apartheid, coulda disowned Hamas, shoulda too, but after this much time, knowing the 800lb gorilla on the table, she has got to respond.

I have posted some accounts from an American Israeli which dovetails much of mine. He is actively supporting, via fundraising, the military, lives on the west bank with Palestinian neighbors that he loves, feels they love him. He knows Hamas is evil but knows there are many good Palestinians trapped under their rule in Gaza.

It’s the most un black and white situation as it is, before you get into historical grudges as well.

Not only does the squad need to be remove from Congress but members like Jeffries and others who hate Israel
and appear to back Hamas. On the right Gaetz and his group also need to be removed from Congress. They are as far right and the squad is to the left. Neither group is capable of serving this country.

  13. Robin W Boyd

Hamas are Palestinians. Unless one was born prior to 1948 when Palestine became Israel, Palestinians are Hamas. Hamas is one of many terrorist arms of all Islamic nations, doing the dirty deeds being funded by other Islamic nations. We can’t get around these truths.
American Democrats who support Hamas support terrorism. No one who supports terrorism should be allowed to work for the U.S. government in any capacity, elected, appointed or hired. The U.S. needs American supporters, especially from within.
