Democrats attending and boycotting SOTUS embarrass themselves
There seems to be bipartisan agreement that the democrat members of Congress in attendance for the State of the Union Speech looked bad. They were criticized by Democrat strategists. James Carville had cautioned his colleagues to behave. Democrat congressional leaders advised their members to be respectful – and not engage in the kind of theatrics that hurt their image in President Trump’s 2025 address to Congress. But the radical left was unpersuaded.
Texas Congressman Al Green reprised his 2025 ejection from the chamber for disruptive behavior. Showboating of the worst kind. (Who votes for these folks?) A few Democrats walked out during the speech. Congresswomen Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib shouted at the President during his remarks – without the response from Trump they hoped for.
The cameras caught several members – including Senators Elizabeth Warren and Chris Coons – sitting stone-faced with an occasional scowl. (No one scowls better than Warren). Virtually all of the Democrats in attendance sat when their Republican colleagues and guests in the galleries stood and applauded enthusiastically. Sometimes it was understandable – when Trump mentioned subjects with which the Democrats did not agree.
It was especially shameful, however, when the applause was for non-controversial tributes to those who suffered at the hands of illegal aliens or were national heroes. It was obsessive obstinance – failing to respectfully stand for wounded warriors and police, parents of dead children and even a little girl in a car accident with a drunk illegal alien.
Several times during his speech, Trump set it up for Democrats to look bad – and they took the bait every time. When Trump called on everyone to stand who believes that the President’s job is to put American citizens ahead of illegal aliens, Most Democrats remained seated. Trump pointed to them and said, “Shame on you”.
Following the speech, there was virtually no praise for the Democrats behavior – even among the more left-wing programs. MS NOW avoided the subject in favor of unrelenting criticism of Trump’s speech.
Weeell …. just when you think Democrats could not get any crazier, they prove otherwise.
A group of perma-pissed radicals, known as the Portland Frog Brigade, hopped in from the west coast to protest outside the Capitol Building during President Trump’s State of the Union Speech.
They assembled in something called “State of the Swamp”. It featured the usual hyperbolic political rhetoric … but the showstopper was a bunch of adults dressed up as oversized … frogs. (Oh! And one tiger). It was a “you got to be kidding” moment. Okay … I got it. Frogs … swamp. (Not sure how the tiger fit in).
The theatrics were so silly that any political messaging was lost in the mocking laughter. It brought to mind Shakespeare’s observation, “Lord, what fools these mortals be”.
I guess one should not be surprised. The left loves street theatre … of the absurd. One only need s to recall the various “die-ins” protesting nuclear weapons and the Vietnam War. And there are the bare-all on bikes protests in Portland (again?) … the sit-in on the floor of the House …. the lady members of Congress shadow boxing (badly) on Reels to show their anti-Trump fighting spirit.
The left loves public protest and performance politics – even if it makes them look like a ship of fools. Even though they generally lack a sense of humor, they do make people laugh.
Not far from the political frog pond, the “no show” members of Congress assembled for their own public protest. They were sans costumes. Although, they could have dressed as the party symbol, the donkey, since they most certainly made asses of themselves.
The rhetoric was over the top – and that is an understatement. New York Congressman Dan Goldman responded to Trump’s statement that the Republic is in great shape – stronger than ever – Goldman said it is “hanging by a thread”. That might have been appropriate at the onset of the Civil War … but today??? Provocative nonsense.
A significant element of the Democratic Party has been overtaken by a strategy of obsessive hatred that has replaced policy with silliness and absurdity. The patients have taken over the asylum. These Democrats insult the American people by thinking such silliness is persuasive. If the GOP pulls a miracle and retains control of Congress, Democrats have only themselves to blame.

No, the democrats did not want to inject any praise for Krusty Gnome’s ICE brigade and their lawless deportations, ignoring people’s rights in the US, murdering US citizens as well immigrants, illegally sending people to jail in other countries, some of which they have no relationship to-shame on you and your perverted sense of right. You prefer to make an ass of yourself by standing strong for the worst president ever who routinely breaks the law to benefit himself (how about those trump crypto coins that he has encouraged his backers to purchase, routinely holding up monies that congress has appropriated due to his petty ignorance, getting rid of USAID which benefited so many, thus allowing China to become the bigger benefactor of those in need-the list goes on and on daily, and yet you, in your ignorance prefer to point fingers at Democrats so that the dumbasses that think you are speaking truth ignore the abomination that is happening right in front of our eyes). In the interest of brevity, I am not going to list any of the other atrocities committed by the incompetent trump regime, but I dare you to say that anything I have written is incorrect, if you do, it will be just another boldfaced lie which republicans seem to enjoy so much

Larry often picks a fight while blaming the other guys for starting it. That’s not just my conclusion. One wonders his end game since we will never move ahead by constantly beating on each other. Larry favors a win-lose strategy binding us in the trap of division, discord, feuding and friction with a complete lack of compassion for the other fella. His story is a prime example of one-sided, blind-sided, partisan, biased, bullshit without even attempting to “walk a mile in the other fool’s shoes” much less chart any promise for a profitable future. In Larry’s world, one side wins while the other loses.
The SOTU is just a simple statement of where we are. It has grown to include a salute to heroes, survivors, plus a futures wish list from our President. Today we add, all of us, not just the other guys, we add political theater from both attendees and speakers. Are you not entertained?
Who’s on first is a question Larry answers from the left, devoid of the Obama and Biden years when his side started the “shock and arms” phase of today. Larry can dish it out, but cries like a baby upon return of volley. Pull up your big boy pants, Larry. You can wear your depends with them now too!
Larry conveniently forgets 2009, when Republican Joe Wilson screamed “You lie” at President Obama firing what was to be known as “the bullshit heard round the world.” To be fair, Pelosi ripping up Trump’s SOTU in 2020 was another, probably wants to take that one back, but now we were off to the slime race with both sides trying to better the other in insults, rude behavior, and outlandish costumes. By the 2026, the SOTU was replaced with the SOTRP (State of the Republican Party) where Trump took an inordinate amount of time to specifically blame Democrats over a dozen times for over a dozen things. Trump personally called out Biden a half dozen times; he even got down to Pelosi. A campaign speech perhaps, but not a SOTU. Not a humble thing either as Trump boasts credit for everything, even things Democratic.
Slime balling at the SOTU really took off in 2022 when Boebert interrupted Biden speaking about veterans’ health, shouting about the 13 service members killed at Abbey Gate and then joining MT Greene who came dressed as the female urban pimp to chant: “build a wall.” A good number of other Republicans joined in. Then, Greene’s 2023 SOTU screaming ‘liar” dressed again as a pimp while many Republicans booed and booed and booed. Or 2024’s massive Republican uproar of boos and taunts over the Immigration Bill causing Biden’s retort. Many Republicans in attendance at that time wildly cheered the antics. Or in 2024 when a Republican-invited guest from the gallery yelled “Abbey Gate!” and “United States Marines!” disrupting the SOTU while being ushered out. In 2024, there was also the Riley confrontation when Marjorie Taylor Greene interrupted Biden regarding the death of Georgia student Riley demanding Biden hold up a “Say Her Name” pin and address her directly.” Come on Larry, fess up, who’s really on first? Are you not entertained? I say remove them, congressionally censure them all, give someone the boot for effect, and if it continues, federal charges of sedition.
This year, for Trump’s 2026 SOTU, it wasn’t. It was the SOTRP, a campaign speech that should not have been uttered in that chamber. I turned it off once he laid the trap baiting Democrats with an unanswerable loyalty statement. Unanswerable statement since all alternatives were not presented, it required acceptance of HOW Trump is illegally attempting to accomplish his goal, and is basically a “are you still drinking” or “are you still beating you wife” verbal trap. There IS NO good answer except for magarats or their enablers. After that Trump spent over an hour lambasting Democrats —- they should have stood when he asked and then left. This SOTU was not about the Union; it was about Trump’s Kingdom; there was precious little in that speech for us and not even a glancing nod to unity. He called half the country bad, crazy, hurting people, corrupt, cheating, scamming, liars, rip-offs, and more. And then asked for our support, some fart of a deal; it stunk up the place.
Trump directly called out Democrats close to a dozen times, naming, blaming, and shaming. He said we were “doing a bad thing for the people,” and told us “All Democrats, every single one of them, voted against these really important and very necessary massive tax cuts. They wanted large-scale tax increases to hurt the people instead.”(Biden kept all the Trump tax cuts fyi.) He called us corrupt, crazy, scammers, liars, and rip-offs. Later, he said Democrats “have instituted another Democrat shutdown, the first one costing us two points on GDP…, which probably made them quite happy, actually.” (Trump can’t spell GDP that he took negative). “We have no money because of the Democrats and it would be nice — we’d love to give you a hand at cleaning it up, but you gave no money. Nobody’s getting paid. It’s a shame. So you have to think about it. We have, in case you didn’t know, pretty large snowstorm out there.” It’s a year in and everything he owns now. But what he does not like, is still our fault and he’s not going to talk to us, work with us, even acknowledge us except for blame and shame. If he can’t fix it, he accuses someone else, calls them ugly names, and then does not fix it.
After Trump sprung his illogical pre-planned verbal trap, he ripped out his pre-planned taunt: “These people are crazy, I’m telling you. They’re crazy. Amazing. Terrible. Boy, oh boy. We’re lucky we have a country. With people like this — Democrats are destroying our country, but we’ve stopped it just in the nick of time, didn’t we, huh?” Democrats should have stood and then left. There is nothing in this speech for us, not even a crumb tossed out. He even trotted out The Big Lie one more time saying “They want to cheat. They have cheated. And their policy is so bad that the only way they can get elected is to cheat and we’re going to stop it. We have to stop it, John. We have to stop it.” Yeah, if you win, it’s the GOAT landslide. If you lose, we cheated. Same system.
He claimed: “dangerous repeat offenders continue to be released by pro-crime Democrat politicians again and again.” All the time, again and again, just Democrats (actually, Republicans do it too, it’s called THE LAW.)
For knee well Rubio, he uttered: “And some of the Democrats are now saying, “I can’t believe we approved that guy! It’s an honor that they feel that way. Right, Marco?” Yeah, to get points with Trump, just piss off Democrats. Fucking people over is a good way to score points with Don. That’s how you spell: unity, NOT.
Between Trump’s plethora of lies, fabrications, and mathematically impossible whoppers, and Trump’s attacks on half the nation in general and some individuals specifically, Democrats should have taken the bait, stood and left.
“They don’t like to hear that. One of the — sick people. Isn’t it funny? Sick people.” Yes, Larry we were rude. When in Rome, do as the Romans do. Especially Caligula.
Free all the Epstein files, redacted lawfully. Have the balls to be deposed, with Melania, like Bill and Hillary Clinton were brave patriots to do. And they did not take the fifth.
