
<p>What happens when the criminal and the judge hearing her case share the same political ride? There is no stop by the prison, which is what Americans witnessed in the recent sentencing of a Maryland prosecutor.</p>



<p>Democratic former State’s Attorney Marilyn Mosby of Baltimore, MD, was convicted last year on two counts of perjury and again in February of this year on one count of making a false mortgage application for buying a condominium in Long Boat Key, Florida. According to the Department of Justice (DOJ), Mosby faced a maximum of 10 years in prison for the perjury conviction and a maximum of 30 years in prison for the conviction over mortgage fraud, totaling to 40 years in prison for all her crimes.</p>



<p>But when Mosby was sentenced on Thursday (May 23), she did not get a single day in prison – thanks to U.S. District Judge Lydia Kay Griggsby, who was appointed to the court by Joe Biden in 2021. Judge Griggsby sentenced Mosby to only one year of home confinement, 100 hours of community service, and 3 years of supervised release. The prosecution has asked for a sentence of 20 months in prison for all of Mosby’s crimes of mortgage fraud and perjury.</p>



<p>Mosby’s crimes were defended by Democrats and the leftist media serving the Democratic Party before and after she was convicted by a federal jury. Earlier this month, Joy Reid of MSNBC had Mosby on her show where she would defend the convicted criminal as a victim who was politically targeted.</p>

<p>A look at the official profile of Judge Griggsby shows that she has quite a history of serving Democrats. In 2009, Democrat Senator Patrick Leahy appointed her the Chief Counsel for Privacy and Information Policy for the Senate Judiciary Committee. In 2014, President Obama appointed Griggsby a Judge of the United States Court of Federal Claims.</p>



<p>In sentencing Mosby, the Associated Press wrote of Judge Griggsby:</p>



<p><em>She also noted that her crimes didn’t involve any taxpayer money and said the prospect of separating Mosby from her two young daughters “weighed very heavily” on her decision.</em></p>



<p>Conservatives on X (Twitter) reacted to the slap on the wrist for Mosby by the Biden appointee by calling out the favoritism. Independent journalist called it Democrat privilege.</p>

<p>MAGA conservative Sheri wrote that no jail time for Mosby shows that “prison is reserved for Christians and Trump supporters.”</p>

<p>Conservative patriot Matthew Nichol wrote that Hunter Biden is likely to get a sentence similar to or even less than what Mosby got.</p>
