
<p>The reelection campaign of Joe Biden is on a political ventilator but conservative states are just starting to fight the war his administration has waged on American families in the name of transgender rights. Seven conservative states have taken Biden’s Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to court over its redefinition of sex discrimination.</p>



<p>Last week, <em>The Daily Wire</em> reported that seven Republican-run states – Missouri, Utah, North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa, Idaho, and Arkansas – along with the ;American College Of Pediatricians filed a lawsuit against the HHS. The lawsuit challenges the HHS rule from April 2024 that requires healthcare professionals to provide “transgender medical interventions” to patients, including minors. Refusing to provide such interventions would amount to sex discrimination.</p>



<p>The Office for Civil Rights (OCR) at the HHS included the rule as part of Section 1557 of the Affordable Care Act:</p>



<p><em>On April 26, 2024 OCR announced issuance of a final rule implementing Section 1557 that codifies protections from discrimination on the basis of sex, including pregnancy, sexual orientation, gender identity, and sex characteristics. The final rule also prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex with regard to marital, parental, or family status.</em></p>



<p>Citing a press release from the American College Of Pediatricians, <em>The Daily Wire</em> included a brief list of the kind of interventions this OCR rule requires of doctors and health professionals:</p>



<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li>Use of pronouns inconsistent with biological sex</li>



<li>Experimental use of puberty-blockers and cross-sex hormones for ‘gender-transition’</li>



<li>Harmful, sterilizing procedures on adults and children to appear to be the opposite sex</li>
</ul>



<p>The release says that the rule would require medical professionals to provide these services even if state law restricts these procedures. The battle for parental rights against government’s social engineering agenda for children is not restricted to American children but also relates to children brought into the country from across the border. On the same day that the seven red states went to court against HHS, a federal whistleblower working at the agency testified before the Congress about child trafficking knowingly enabled by the HHS. Deborah White, a federal employee assigned to the HHS Office of Refugee Resettlement (HHSORR), stated in her testimony that she was reprimanded for trying to verify the identities of people involved in taking unaccompanied minors in and asked not to dig into any details.</p>

<p>Recently, investigative journalist Lara Logan detailed how the HHS has legalized the trafficking of children from across the southern border via the mass illegal immigration through a federal program that goes back to the Obama administration. Logan talked about the revealing experiences of volunteers who helped with processing immigrants including minors.</p>
