CNN Predicts Post-Labor Day Attack Against Trump

Trouble is brewing. According to a recent CNN report, a group of GOP elites is planning to launch a series of anti-Trump ads after Labor Day weekend.

“It’s no secret the Republican establishment is unnerved by Donald Trump and his lead in national and key state polls,” reported CNN. Party elites had hoped that Trump’s support would have fizzled out by now. Instead, he’s the clear leader of GOP candidates with nearly a quarter of the vote.

Trump’s enduring appeal with GOP voters has the other candidates worried. But who will sponsor the attack against Trump: super PACs, rival candidates, or some other group? There are rumors of anti-Trump television ads in the works.

“There are a lot of donors out there who see it as much too dangerous, obviously, for the candidates, or their allied super PACs, to go after Trump,” said CNN’s Maeve Reston. “So they’re looking to more establishment PACs to potentially take him down in post-Labor Day ads.”

According to Fox News’ Charlie Gasparino, the other Republican candidates think Donald Trump has gotten away with too much and are planning to bring him down. Gasparino reported that GOP donors, especially those associated with Marco Rubio and Scott Walker, are planning “attack ads” in an effort to “reset the primary.”
