
<p>The left’s hatred of white people is not confined to race only but has a layer of other factors including social and sexual. That’s why a Canadian university recently offered a number of academic positions to candidates from a variety of backgrounds but excluding straight white men.</p>



<p><em>LifeSite News</em> (April 23) reported on the story that was brought to public attention on X by independent journalist Chris Brunet. He pointed to five tenured professor positions advertised by Memorial University – the only university operating in Newfoundland and Labrador province of Canada – and the eligibility criteria for applicants. These positions were opened to these groups of applicants: “women; 2SLGBTQIA+ people; Indigenous peoples; racialized persons; and persons with disabilities.”</p>



<p>As noted in the story, the eligibility criteria disqualify straight white men from applying to these positions. Calling this exclusion of straight white men” indefensible” and “obviously racist,” <em>LifeSite News</em> reminded that this is not an isolated incident of racial discrimination in the academic sphere of Canada. In February, the University of Toronto posted a similar call for the open position of assistant professor in computational biology and data science. The eligibility checkmarks for applicants for this position also excluded straight white men. And the same happened in 2024 with another academic position, one at the University of Waterloo.</p>



<p>Discrimination against straight white men has increasingly been put into practice by liberal/leftist employers in the west with Canada one of the leading enforcers of this anti-white racism. It is also on display in allocation of government funds that come from people’s money, majority of whom are actually white. Last week, Canadian media reported on the federal government’s announcement of $8.6 million to help black communities tackle “systemic racism.” A Canadian conservative woman on X responded to the news with the hypothetical alternative: what if such federal funding was announced for white people only?</p>

<p>Liberals in America largely follow the same anti-white racist bigotry as the Canadian left, if not worse. Whether big corporations or academic institutions, foreigners and non-white people are preferentially employed over a DEI (Diversity Equity Inclusion) policy closely tied to left-wing politics. In February, U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) announced the launch of an investigation into NIKE over its discriminatory hiring practices that racially targeted eligible white workers. The allegations under investigation include NIKE’s discrimination against whites in “hiring, promotion, demotion, or separation decisions, including selection for layoffs; internship programs; and mentoring, leadership development and other career development programs.”</p>
