As a result of Hilary Clinton’s recent decline in polls, Bill Clinton has been called upon to attempt damage control.
“The other party doesn’t want to run against her,” the former president said of his wife in a CNN interview on Sunday. “And if they do, they’d like her as mangled up as possible. And they know that if they leak things and say things, that that is catnip to the people who get bored talking about what’s your position on student loan relief, or dealing with the shortage of mental healthcare, or what to do with the epidemic of prescription drugs and heroin out in America.”
In the same interview with CNN, former President Bill Clinton also equated the current investigations being conducted by congressional Republicans and federal agencies with questions faced by his administration.
Clinton compared the email to the Whitewater scandal of the 1990s, which tainted his own campaign and presidency, claiming that “we’re seeing history repeat itself.”
“I have never seen so much expended on so little,” he added.
Rather than Hillary take the blame for inappropriate handling of classified information, she simply sent her husband out to say the whole scandal is the creation of Republicans and the media who have exaggerated and overblown the situation. If confidentiality laws are not important, someone should go and give Petraeus his job back.
As Hillary’s campaign continues to fail, it becomes abundantly clear, be it Hillary or Bill, America does not want any more Clinton scandals.
