Biden’s BIG LIES about Afghanistan

One of the tragic realities about President Biden’s ill-conceived plan to end the war in Afghanistan is that he keeps making promises he has no desire or ability to keep – and I believe he knows it.  That means he is lying.

He promised that ALL Americans and Afghan special visa holders would be evacuated from the country before American forces would depart.  He even suggested that he would advance the August 31 deadline if needed.  Anyone with an IQ higher than a hockey score knew that Biden’s banter was bullsh*t.

And now we have the proof that Biden’s narratives were all lies.  In a conversation with then Afghan President Ashraf Ghani, Biden said that he was aware that the government would fall after the military departed – but that was not what he wanted to tell the American people.

In the phone conversation, Biden said (highlight added), “I need not tell you, the perception around the world and in parts of Afghanistan, I believe, is that things are not going well in terms of the fight against the Taliban.  And there is a need, whether it is true or not, there is a need to project a different picture.”

In other words, when Biden was telling the American people that the government in Kabul had the strength and resources to fight the Taliban, with malice aforethought, Biden was handing Afghanistan to the Taliban.

In that same call, Biden promised to continue providing air support for the national military.  In fact, such air support was terminated – and some observers cite that as the reason the Afghan forces collapsed.  They knew that without the United States air power, the situation was hopeless.

Biden and his administration have been lying about virtually every aspect of the withdrawal of American forces.

In terms of Americans flown out, the numbers are confusing.  Initially, the administration believed that there were between 20,000 and 30,000 Americans in Afghanistan.  But as the deadline drew near, Biden bragged about getting 5500 American on departing C-10s – with only 100 to 200 hundred remaining in harm’s way.  Untrue.

Biden also blames those left behind for their own situation.  According to Biden, they had every opportunity to come to the Hamid Karzai Airport.  He said those remaining in Afghanistan may want to remain. Both claims are lies.

Veterans’ groups, media and various Non-Government Organizations (NGOs) are working around the clock to get the stranded Americans and Afghans out of the country.  CNN’s Chris Cuomo had a tearful American live on the phone pleading for help – and she was hiding with 37 others – Americans and Afghans.  These are all anecdotal cases, but they are coming to the surface in droves.

Literally thousands of Americans are working to get tens of thousands of those left behind out of the country.  One organization estimates that there are literally millions of Afghans who want to leave the country. Obviously, not all of those are eligible, but it gives some sense of the scope of the problem – far greater than Biden’s self-serving mendacious narratives.

It is a pity that the Washington Post decided to end the awarding of Pinocchios for political prevarication.  It is too bad that CNN’s “Reality Check,” with john Avlon as the stand-in prosecutor, never focuses on Biden’s longstanding propensity to lie.

Fortunately, Biden is a bad liar in that his fibs – big and small – are discernible by anyone following the news – except for the hyper-partisan Democrats.  But even for Biden, his explanations regarding Afghanistan are based on humongous whoppers.

So, there ‘tis.
