Biden lacks a historic legacy

Biden lacks a historic legacy

President Biden has entered the “lame duck” period — those closing days of a presidency when the person in the Oval Office loses his influence and relevancy.  Yes, he is still the President and has powers, but the world is basically looking over his shoulder.  This is also a period in which folks start speculating about a president’s legacy – not what he will do, but what he has done.  That conversation has already started on the talk shows.

As a backdrop to assessing Biden’s legacy, it is important to understand that he leaves office as one of the more unpopular presidents in American history.  A compilation of the leading polls shows that Biden is viewed unfavorably by more than 60 percent of the American public – and that is an improvement over his pre-retirement ratings.  Fewer than four out of ten people think Biden did a good job.  Obviously, that weighs heavily on the issue of legacy.

Apart from the quirky oddities of his personality (hair sniffing and baby biting) – and the generally unfavorable opinion the American people have of Biden – it is difficult to see a positive legacy.  In addition, there is a total lack of historic-level accomplishments – but there is a notable record of failures.

We know what HE would like his legacy to be.  Basically, it centers on his major legislative packages passed by Congress in the early years of his presidency.  There can be no doubt that he and congressional Democrats passed major legislation.  Whether it has been as beneficial to America as Team Biden claims is an open question.  The level of spending is considered irresponsible and a major contributor to the inflation.  Most people view his handling of the economy as a disaster.  And the inflation will be remembered long after the “chips act” and the mislabeled Inflation Reduction Act have fade from the nation’s collective memory.

As the presidential campaign heated up, the Biden/Harris administration pointed to a reduction in the rate of inflation, the drop in interest rates by the Federal Reserve, lower numbers of illegal border crossings and a reduction in crime.  Ironically, those were only modest improvements in problems that Biden’s policies or inattention had created.

Let us look at Biden’s major issues more specifically.

National Unity

Biden promised to be a unifying president.  Whatever his intention, he presided over a political party and policies that divided Americans into competing demographic groups.  Team Biden not only embraced a never-Trump policy, but they also demonized half the American public as cultists, misogynists, homophobes, xenophobes, racists, and anti-American fascist coup plotters.

The Economy.

Democrats focus on the reduction in the RATE of inflation.  That is not the legacy issue.  Biden’s real legacy is the soaring inflationary prices THAT ARE STILL WITH US – and will be for the foreseeable future.  The damage Biden did is now baked into the economy.  The high prices are his legacy.  That is confirmed by the fact that most voters trusted Trump more in terms of handling the economy.  According to 2024 exit polls, it was the economy that played the major role in the defeat of his Vice President.

Interest Rates

Biden policies have forced millions of Americans to rely on credit for basic needs – and at a time when credit rates have soared.  Any American with a credit card knows that the more recent reduction in the credit rate by the Fed may be of some benefit to large corporations — or nations borrowing money on a grand scale — but has done nothing to reduce the credit rates paid by consumers.  Forty percent of credit card holders have paid late fees in recent months – and millions have fallen in the credit card trap. That problem continues – and that is the Biden legacy.

Illegal Border Crossing

The irrefutable fact is that the Biden administration allowed – and encouraged – an unprecedented number of illegal border crossers to enter and remain in the United States.  The number has created multiple crises – crime, drugs, overwhelming social services, disrupting communities and excessively burdening taxpayers.  A short term reduction in daily crossings does not correct that problem inflicted on the American Public. We will have to deal with that for years to come.    That is Biden’s legacy.

Crime

On the matter of crime, the Biden years saw an increase in the number of crimes and the severity.  Anecdotally, there was an increase in horrific crimes committed by illegal aliens — and an increase in gang and drug crimes.  The reported reduction in crimes in the final years of the Biden administration was largely due to “creative accounting” and the fact that Democrat prosecutors were refusing to prosecute certain crimes.  Then there was that defund the police movement.  Biden said he did not favor defunding police, but local Democrats were doing just that – and Biden did favor shifting police enforcement money into social welfare approaches.

Afghanistan

Biden’s ill-conceived and poorly executed surrender in Afghanistan resulted in the deaths of 13 American military personnel and 170 Afghan civilians seeking escape.  Biden literally handed that nation and its resources over to the terrorist Taliban.  It also left American citizens, and Afghan allies, behind to be tracked down and killed by the Taliban.  It returned Afghanistan to a theocracy that now oppresses women, gays and perceived infidels.

Ukraine

Biden’s feckless too little/too late policy enabled Putin to invade Ukraine – and resulted in the dragging out of the conflict as a deadly stalemate. It now appears that any negotiated peace agreement will result in Putin gaining more territory and resources.  The war that began on Biden’s watch rages on – and is escalating.

Iran

Biden’s accommodation to Iran – including providing billions of dollars to the terrorist state — allowed Tehran to muscle-up and sponsor terrorism throughout the Middle East – including the attack on Israel that launched the Hamas war.  On Biden’s watch, Iran surrogates continue to attack American assets and kill American military personnel.

Israel

Biden’s tried to play it both ways in terms of the Hamas war.  While he continued to send military aid, he took up the Hamas propaganda line by blaming the Jewish state for excessive civilian casualties.  He was more focused on not expanding the war than winning it.  Another war that started on Biden’s watch continues – and is widening.

Rising antisemitism

Biden’s equivocation on the Hamas war also led to the antisemitic protests that swept American campuses – and was seen on the streets of New York City.  While Biden is not antisemitic, his policies allowed it to blossom.

Wokeness, political correctness and identity politics

Despite Biden’s crafted image as a moderate “lunch bucket Joe,” he governed over a political party that took America to the radical left-wing woke absurdity of identity politics and political correctness, with men dominating girls’ sports … forced gender pronouns … and underage abortions and gender switching without parental agreement or even knowledge.  Schools became laboratories for social engineering.

Minority stagnation

Despite the highly promoted narrative of the Democratic Party’s dedication to civil rights, there was virtually no improvement in the lives of Blacks and Hispanics who remain segregated and oppressed in America’s urban centers – communities controlled for generations by Biden’s powerful political allies.

Comparing legacies

Biden’s team claims that he has been one of the most successful presidents in American history — with a strong legacy.  But how does he really compare?

I simply do not see great legacy material.  Rather I see a one-term president with more negatives on his report card than positives. He is leaving office with one of the lowest approval ratings since Richard Nixon (24%).  President Truman and Johnson both were forced to give up reelection bids by low approval ratings, 22 percent and 36 percent, respectively.  At  the time Biden withdrew from the campaign, his favorable rating was approximately 36 percent.

Ironically, all three of his unpopular predecessors were more accomplished than Biden.  Truman for ending the war.  Johnson for his Great Society and War on Poverty programs – and the civil rights legislation of the 1960s.  Nixon for rapprochement with China and affirmative action legislation.  Those were accomplishments that changed the course of history.

The Biden legislative achievements are not on the scale of Johnson’s civil rights bills or Nixon’s affirmative action legislation.  The so-called “chips act” and the Inflation Reduction Act simply do not have the same historical shelf life.

And then there were presidents who left office with high favorable ratings – and legacies far more impressive than Biden.  George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt, Franklin Roosevelt, Dwight Eisenhower, Ronald Reagan and Barack Obama.

Summary

Despite the political cheerleading from Biden’s contemporary fan club, he just does not have any accomplishments that will stand the test of time. When history looks back with the advantage of hindsight, it is more likely that Trump will be the most remembered President of this era.  Biden will land in the ranks alongside such predecessors as John Tyler, Millard Fillmore, James Buchannan, William Henry Harrison, Calvin Coolidge, Bill Clinton, George W Bush and others – notable in their day, but no enduring legacy.

So, there ‘tis.

Yes, but this is why the crooked Dem party would install a puppet.
The handlers of Biden put him in this position to do their will, not his.
The Dems in charger never gave a rats ass about how their Anti American policies
would affect the aftermath on Biden.
Live by the rules of screwing the American People, and you expect their respect
    in how you are remembered?
    What absolute Dumb Asses!

You know Darren, you may have a point. Maybe all Democrats are bad just as all Republicans are bad, magarat bad. For years, I have rarely called all Republicans anything. Or even generalized on magarats. Not any big on the racist thing like you are on the communist thing. You feel we are the “the crooked Dem party,” all of us “never gave a rats ass about how their Anti American policies would affect the aftermath on Biden” as you close with your summary of Dems: “What absolute Dumb Asses!”

Others here want to imprison, deport, or even worse.

You may have a point that indeed, we are all part of the same rabid bunch.

As are you, I guess. Just a bunch of lowly educated, red neck, white felons, white felon wannabees, or white felon cheerleaders who love to demean women right after you rape them so they will be forced to bear your butt fuck ugly kids. You love to cheat, whether it’s your customers, charities, or even other tax payers, of which you pay little or none. After all, you are led by the Felon King. You hate education, science, and medicine, You would rather drink bleach than get a shot. Republicans love to ban, banish, deport, defile, and destroy anyone who is not them. All races and creeds except white Christians. Gonna round up over 11 million, put em in camps, and then send them all to Mexico who will pay for it, gratefully. And then you will come for the Democrat commie scum demons. And Tom.

Here’s how hypocritical you are. Melania Trump entered the country using the “Einstein Law.” That’s right, the almost-super-model tits-on-a-stick used the same law that allowed brilliant scientists like Einstein enter the country post WWII. Then she and Don used chain-migration to get her parents in. Her father, an actual communist party member, now lives in a stone’s throw from the super top-secret nuclear plans at MAL in a cabana in the back. That’s OK with all Republicans, but the guy who snuck over the border to mow your lawn, serve you food, and pick your crops —- that shithead has to go.

Yup, we all the same. As are you. Makes sense, right?

This article gets a Stop The Spin rating of 5+ mostly because of its negativity and inability of the author to see the positive side of the Biden administration.

For this Independent, stopping a Trump consecutive second term was a gift to all Americans as it gave us a break from Trump and his MAGA folks. Four years of Trump and his anger and bellicose rhetoric tired all of us. But that break was short lived due to Trump and MAGA working hard after his loss to oppose the Biden Administration’s effort to help Americans struggling from Trump era Covid lack of response. And it started with an insurrection that was flung onto the incoming Biden Administration and a messy clean-up affair due to Trump’s lack of skills in negotiating and executing a proper withdrawal from Afghanistan that he had agreed to with the terrorist Taliban group. But unlike the disastrous Trump first term administration, Biden stood tall as a giant when he did what was best for America rather than being like Trump who does what is best for Trump, by not running for a second term, and, by not inciting an insurrection like Trump during Trump’s ungraceful transfer of power in 2021. And Trump will now benefit and claim it was all his doing as he will undoubtedly falsely claim accomplishments that actually trace back to the American Infrastructure Act that Trump could not pass in four years but Biden got passed in two years!!

Larry seems to think he now speaks for “most Americans” yet again, fails the measure of solid journalism by not referencing a single poll in his supposed “compilation of polls”. So to remind our readers of the positive side of the Biden Administration that Larry avoids in his attempt to paint the Biden Administration with his negative poisonous venom, Larry gives the appearance of a cheap tabloid writer.

Already, historians list Biden as number 14, a ranking that is sure to rise. Meanwhile, Trump finds himself stuck at the bottom, where he is likely to remain. Here below are some accomplishments of the Biden Administration as cited by “The Hill” in August 2024:

As Democrats gather in Chicago to nominate Kamala Harris and Tim Walz for the presidential ticket, the party will spend its first evening celebrating the 52 years Joe Biden has spent in public life. It promises to be an evening filled with nostalgia.

Much of those proceedings will be spent honoring the accomplishments of the Biden administration. Running for the presidency four years ago, Biden promised voters, “I know how to get things done.”

And what he has done is remarkable. That includes putting vaccine shots into people’s arms to end the COVID-19 pandemic, passing the largest infrastructure program since the 1950s, signing the Chips and Science Act, expanding healthcare and reviving the Cancer Moonshot program.

He also championed the Inflation Reduction Act, which transformed health care coverage for seniors and contained the largest federal investment aimed at mitigating the effects of climate change. He fought for the PACT Act, which provides veterans and their families with health coverage after exposure to toxic chemicals.

Biden enacted the most significant gun control legislation in decades, expanded NATO and rallied the world to stop Vladimir Putin’s aggression in Ukraine. (Had it not been for Biden, Putin would have owned Ukraine in 2021. Yet Ukraine is still free. )

In 2020, few thought such a record of accomplishment was possible, and some have compared Biden’s achievements to those of Lyndon B. Johnson and even Franklin D. Roosevelt (whom Larry hates and documented his hate of in a worst seller book).

In a recent CBS interview, reporter Robert Costa asked Biden how he thinks history will remember him. Biden said he believed historians would record that he proved democracy could work and government could still do big things. But he quickly added that his domestic accomplishments “were going to take a little time to work their way through.”

The concrete evidence of what he has done will become evident over the course of this decade.

Many Americans have little understanding of what Biden has accomplished. During his presidency, those history-making laws have been overshadowed by the courtroom travails and controversies enveloping Donald Trump.

Day after day, the press has covered the real-life court proceedings of America’s first ex-president who now stands as a convicted felon. Most cable news watchers have become educated in the finer points of the law as the Trump saga drones on.

Quite often, the judgments voters render upon presidents as they leave the White House are upended by history. Consider: In 1953, Harry S. Truman was seen as weak and ineffective. Likewise, in 1961, Dwight D. Eisenhower was widely viewed as a “do-nothing” president.

But as the years passed both presidents’ standings rose. Truman’s strong domestic and foreign policy record — including his vital role in the creation of NATO and his integration of the U.S. military — puts him in the company of “near-great” presidents, reaching number six in the top 10 list compiled by presidential historians.

Similarly, Eisenhower’s prudence in committing U.S. troops to overseas conflicts was praised during the Vietnam War years. And domestically, the initial appraisals of his “do nothing” administration have been recast as a “do-everything” presidency, a reevaluation that began with the publication of political scientist Fred Greenstein’s 1982 book, “The Hidden-Hand Presidency.” Today, Eisenhower is ranked eighth.

Nonetheless, there are times when historical evaluations do not have to wait for 20/20 hindsight. Abraham Lincoln, George Washington and Franklin D. Roosevelt were instantly recognized as leaders of profound significance. Today, they occupy the top three rankings of those who have held the nation’s highest office.

Biden may not approach their standing, but his accomplishments — combined with his willingness to put love of country ahead of his political ambition in renouncing a second term — will serve him well as the decades pass.

Already, historians list Biden as number 14, a ranking that is sure to rise. Meanwhile, Trump finds himself stuck at the bottom, where he is likely to remain.

Historian David McCullough once said: “In history, chance plays a part again and again. Character counts over and over. Personality is often the determining factor in why things turn out the way they do.”

Time and chance brought Biden to the Oval Office. When he could have easily foregone a race in 2020, Biden stepped up. When he saw that he was not the best candidate to beat Donald Trump in 2024, Biden handed the baton to Vice President Kamala Harris.

In a speech delivered at Valley Forge at the beginning of this year, Biden said: “Democratic leaders, with a small ‘d,’ don’t hold onto power relentlessly. Our leaders return power to the people. You do your duty. You serve your country.”

Biden has done his duty and nobly served his country. We owe him a debt of gratitude.

And this Independent agrees with “The Hill”. Horist will fade into the dustbin of history with no notable accomplishments, but Biden’s legacy will endure!!!

And there ’tis!!! Now you have the whole truth!!!

The author is technically correct of the polling issues but I agree with Tom on the misplaced negativity.

This is not the time or place for recriminations and being nasty.

The author knows the polling will moderate in time; does for most Presidents. But the legislation is good, may last, just like ObamaCare did. Unlike flash in the pan Republican solutions, building infrastructure and new markets like solar and ev’s takes time. Obama made solar markets, Trump tried to kill, Biden establishes Texas and big oil as top solar markets, and thriving. Like Obamacare, good luck killing. It’s a major income for Texas, Exxon and others now.

This is not a unifying article.

I agree Frank! Very good points! For a party that supposedly seeks to unify, they sure are dividing!

One only needs to surf the internet to find many articles on Biden’s extensive legacy.

As an Independent, what I do not understand about Larry and others is that these guys won, yet they continue to act as sore losers! Why?

Its almost like the reason they attempt to assault Biden’s legacy is because they fear it!!

Tom … Nothing you wrote refutes my commentary. You jaded opinions, and spin do not rebut the facts … not to mention your penchant for petty insults. The weakness, inaccuracy and irrelevancy of your counterpoints only establish the solid description of Biden’s legacy in the commentary. Your adoration of Biden has no relevancy in terms of his legacy. You say Biden’s ranking among historians is “sure to rise.” You may believe, that but nothing in the record would suggest that to be true. You say Putin would have all of Ukraine if it were not for Biden. That is provably wrong. The surprising strength of the Ukrainian army and the support from NATO — which was ahead of Biden — were the reasons for Putin’s initial failures. NATO nations did more and earlier — and often had to pressure Biden to do more. That is a matter of record. Ukraine is far from winning the war .. it is not free from war … and Biden held Ukraine back … never applied all the sanctions he promised.. Regard covid, If you recall, it was Trump who preformed a miracle in producing the Covid vaccine in record time. Inoculations started under Trump. Biden’s inoculation program was slow. If you recall (which I am sure you do not), Biden said he would have 70 percent of the population inoculated by June of 2021. Not even close. Of course, I will fade into the dust bin of history, As will most folks — even more prominent folks, including Biden. The angry old man rants you write puts you in the dustpan even BEFORE you are history. LOL You entire response lacks intellectual knowledge and integrity. You did not tell “the other side.” You just spewed your usual anti Trump, anti Larry baseless propaganda. If you would not engage in so much distraction from the point, you could cut your responses by at least 80 percent– maybe even make them more persuading..Just trying to help you out old man … so you do not make such a fool of yourself. Larry, the more important question is how does your commentary sneak in between comments as if held before release? Moderation, editing, or what?

On your warp speed comments, I will address fully in a bit after some research but the top line is:

YES, Warp Speed was a true benefit that was completely negated by the failure of a workable distribution plan resulting in both Trump’s and Biden’s ability to meet self-stated goals. Remember, there was no Trump team transition to team Biden either.

Plus, of the winners, only Modera was part of Warp Speed, Pfizer was not, getting much of it’s money from it’s German partner. At the last second, after Trump pumped $3.2B in for vaccine sales, Pfizer joined Warp Speed for the PR. But Warp Speed helped.

What didn’t help was the Trump covid response, widely seen aa a total failure which resulted in the US ranking 222 out of 238 countries in death rate. The death trajectory can clearing been seen on Trump’s watch, bleeding past vaccine delivery in Decemnber of 2020. Trump did not make his vaccine delivery objectives either Larry. Estimates are that the US lost up to 500,000 people due to Trump’s terrible covid response, operation Warp Speed included.

On top of that, Trump messaging did not help get the vaccine into the arms, especially of his own constituents, as he got his shot in secret only to be outed like a gay Congressman on holiday. He said it would go away, drink some bleach and shine a light, and many other stupid things, none of which helped. At one point, the worm turned from the urban centers, blue, dying, to red unvaccinated areas as Trump stayed silent as his own people croaked due to misinformation in statistically significant numbers.

At one point Trump advocated not giving or getting tests as a way to bring the numbers down.

Now, I think Biden sucks too, especially in ending the covid pandemic, killing all of our early warning indicators and data streams, to get re-elected. Today, we lost 400 citizens every week and that ain’t no damn flu Joe.

Now, at this point, Biden has removed most of the numbers that would tell you 400 dead a week, 1,600 a month, and close to 20,000 a year at the LOWEST POINT of the disease we have seen where it still ain’t no damn flu Joe.

I will detail more, but yes, Warp Speed was good. The covid response, the vaccine delivery plan, the messaging, and the optics from Trump SUCKED. And when you look to the bottom line: death, Trump blows this metric to hell and back. 222 out of 238 countries blows.

So many times you have expressed your baseless complaints that the system is rigged against you. Sounds like paranoia.. I did not read past that first graph since I do not waste time on bs. You really have some serious issues man. It was a simple question. A softball one at that.

By all accounts, Operation Warp Speed was a success. Distribution was a failure. Messaging was a failure. And Trump’s, response to covid, in total, was an abject failure. We rate 222 out of 238 countries for highest death rate leading to close to 500,000 dying from covid that would not have —- in almost any other country in the world.

Covid started in March of 2020; OWS started in May of 2020, not bad. First called MP2, for Manhattan Project 2, it was funded at $10B at first, for seven vaccines, figuring all would not make the finish line. They needed $18B before it was done. Obama used a similar formula for solar market expansion, remember Solyndra, not all make the finish line. Deployment was a stated goal. And Trump screwed the pooch when it came to deployment. Worse yet, he tucked tail and ran rather than offer Team Biden a transition.

BARDA was chosen to distribute funds and Trump forced the BARDA head out through demotion after he suggested early on that the covid drugs recommended by Trump were dangerous. He then filed a whistleblower complaint, won back pay at his old level, as well as pain n sufferin dollars, all paid for by you, the taxpayer, and he got a better position with Biden and, no doubt, is looking for a new job as I type…. Sweet guy that Trumpy is. Like Horist, if the dog is down, kick it.

Two of the seven selected made the finish line, J&J and Moderna. Pfizer, co-developing with a German company was funded by both of them and only joined OWS after Trump plunked down billions in orders pre-development. IE— he bought the farm on that one but Pfizer was not part of OWS for their development.

How good was OWS: WHO said in 2/2020 that vaccines available by August of 2021. OWS delivered in December of 2020 but not exactly first in the world, nor even in the US. The first US vaccine came from the efforts funded by Pfizer and Germany.

The world timeline: on June 24, 2020, China approved the CanSino vaccine for limited use in the military and two inactivated virus vaccines for emergency use in high-risk occupations.

On August 11,2020, Russia announced the approval of its Sputnik V vaccine for emergency use, though one month later only small amounts of the vaccine had been distributed for use outside of the trial.

The Pfizer–BioNTech partnership submitted an Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) request to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for it’s mRNA vaccine thus the development outside of OWS was the first to enter the race on November 20, 2020.

On December 2, 2020, the United Kingdom’s Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) gave temporary regulatory approval for the Pfizer–BioNTech vaccine, becoming the first country to approve the vaccine and the first country in the Western world to approve the use of any COVID 19 vaccine.

On December 11,2020, the FDA granted an EUA for the Pfizer–BioNTech COVID 19 vaccine.

A week later, they granted an EUA for mRNA-1273, the Moderna vaccine.

So, OWS beat the WHO projections but so did the ROWorld and the ROWorld beat the US. However, the OWS development created a better drug.

Then, Trump, who basically tossed distribution to the states quit, did zero transition to team Biden and the distribution effort, for many reasons, sucked dog dicks in hell. After story, another time, soon.

Fact of the matter, OWS was a great thing even if we basically delivered at the same time as rest-of-world, because we may have set the pace for everyone. A rising tide lifts all boats and all that. Trump gets credit for greasing all wheels to make that happen. It is a great effort.

And then, as is his way, he totally dropped the ball on the handoff leaving Biden to recover his distribution fumble. Again, in the near future on that one.

The true heroes: the scientists and big pharma. Not Operation Warp Speed. Face it folks, mRNA rules for time, efficiency, and effectiveness. But, at the chagrin of anti-vaxers fighting this from the beginning, mRNA had been in development, testing, etc. since the 1960’s. Imagine where we would be if this technology was shut down like Trump wants to shut down a lot of science and medical funding? In the 90’s, researchers in Michigan advanced the field but still no commercial use. Covid breathed new life into the technology, and the rest is history. Took 60 years of scientific effort to make OWS have a chance of success.

Bravo to the scientists first and bravo to Trump second for the extra effort, but remember, Trump screwed distribution and if you can’t make the last mile, the jab in the arm, who cares how fast you develop it.

Next I will cover distribution, but I warn you, it’s Trump ugly. All I can say is if mass deportation goes as smooth, we better plan on incarcerating these folks for a long, long, time. Some guys have issues with going full circle.

What we don’t know about Operation Warp Speed was where did the money go. Some has been announced, but it’s $18B and much was distributed by third party with no oversight via public record dissemination. We may never know. That is the Trump way. If you don’t have the facts, he can tell you anything. He even tries that when you have the facts. We can track $6B, $12B is not trackable.

We got the vaccine in record time although others were faster. A noble effort to get to the goal line, but apparently troubles in the red zone. Trump declared 20M to be vaccinated by end of December, 50M by end of January. By the middle of January, only 13M were vaccinated. Over 2/3rds of Trump’s initial deliveries had not been administered. Some places had way too much, others none. Logistical breakdowns plagued the process and Trump’s top military official issued a public apology for misleading states on how many vaccine doses they’d get. I believe the term clusterfuck was used.

Less than a month in deployment, Czar Azar in January announced a revised plan to speed things up while he punished states he called laggard. Now we had recriminations between the federal government and local leaders, finger pointing was the rule of the day. Trump griped about the CDC being stupid just like he did when his plan for tests and protective supplies went awry. Like Horist, it’s always the other guy’s fault.

Then Team Trump avoided the transition leaving Team Biden holding the broken bag and needing an entirely new distribution program.

Yale University health policy professor Jason Schwartz concluded that the Trump team’s projections of total doses manufactured and distributed across December and January were “wildly off-target.” “It was a planning error, and I am responsible,” Army Gen. Gustave Perna said last month. “We’re learning from it. We’re trying to get better.”
But we know where the buck stops. At the guy who takes all the credit.

Larry, You have just outdone yourself-there is more bullshit/propaganda in this tome that I have ever seen in one of your pieces. Is it dementia that is causing this, or are you lying out of your ass? You correctly stated about Biden’s poll numbers, and yes I agree with you he should have done more more with Ukraine (but he did so much more than republicans wanted-if trump had been in office there would have been nada, he would have been too busy kissing Vlad’s ass). The rest of your writing total BS…. Inflation problems-you are showing a lack of understanding of economics if you blame Biden for that-it started with that great deal trump made with the Saudi’s to curtail oil production for two years, when folks started driving again, prices went through the roof-an example of trump looking out for the oil companies, not the average Joe. And it went on due to companies shutting down production during the pandemic and not being able to restart quickly enough to meet demand. There was inflation all over the world-you should know that, but you’re too ignorant (and biased) to recognize that. Of course Afghanistan was an issue-but the blame mostly goes back to trump, ignorantly negotiating with a terrorist group and leaving the rightful government out. I would have scrapped the deal, but the fact is, 75% of the blame goes back to the orange asshole. On domestic affairs, Biden shines, our economy is the envy of the world. Biden has nothing to worry about with his legacy, it will always be yards above trump’s, though it may never reach the heights of our most liberal president, good ole Abe Lincoln. Now your legacy, not so high-you will be remembered as a partisan bullshitter who really can’t write an honestly critical piece about anyone who doesn’t worship the current Republican mess of politicians..

Larry, I do love your GOP ignorance! It is stunning!!

First of all, if your brains were dynamite you would not have enough to blow your nose buddy!! Nothing I wrote was intended to refute you, AND I SAID THAT!!! What I wrote was the positive accomplishments that you didn’t mention! Next time, please read closer!

Much of what you wrote in the first half of your comment has no factual basis like your comments on my adoration of Biden is not true, it is your opinion, Biden being 14th you need to google “the hill, and read the article to see they said that. Again I stated I was using their article and posting it as a response – but you did not grasp this simple concept. So for14th, look up *https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2024/feb/20/presidents-ranking-trump-biden-list* and see for yourself. There are many articles citing Biden as 14th and Trump dead last! So stop being an imbecile!!! Without Biden pulling together the NATO that Trump fragmented, most military analysts agree that Ukraine would most likely be under Putin control. It is you that is out of step (as usual). As far as Covid, Trump wasted almost 3 months in denial and telling us it would all go away, and just shine a UV light in your gut and drink some bleach!! That is why he needed Operation Warp Speed in the first place – but you were under your rock sleeping! His initial poor performance is documented and agreed upon by both parties. Trump’s inoculation program was inept and Biden had to redesign it so that it would work. That took a little time, about a month. And by the way, because Biden waited on Iran, Israel did the job and did not need us getting involved – which is a win win in my book.

Again Larry, all of your comments after the Biden inoculation program are worthless dribble not even worthy of toilet paper. You seem to be unable to understand that I copied and pasted the article from “The Hill” which is a pretty accurate Washington publication – whereas you offer no references. Yes, your journalism talent is mediocre at best and full of spin – which is why I post and give you a rating. This helps you more than anything else and you know it!!

Again, what I find amazing is how you push on doors marked pull. Your party won. Why are you beating a dead horse? Please check the URL I embedded in my comment here so that you can read the presidential rankings by real historians, not elderly incontinent hacks like you. 🙂

Tom you’re a whiny bitch. Biden didn’t do anything and was a weak pussy. As for our “felon” that shit is going away. So build a bridge and get over it. The idiots in the democrat party ran the wrong candidate with a dumbass bitch who couldn’t answer questions without a word shit salad and a lot of cackling. We are taking our country back once again. Message to democrats? Get out of the way and follow. You’re too stupid to lead. And when the hassles start after Trump takes office us true patriots will have his back. So go ahead and scream at the sky or whatever you libturds do and get it out of your system. But don’t even think about laying a hand on a Trump supporter.

Thanks JW! Coming from a White Christian Nationalist like you, I consider that a compliment!!

Sorry his 34 felonies are not going away, they were state prosecutions, not federal.

By the way, I am an Independent and the country is mine too!

When have I ever said I was going to lay a hand on anyone dumbass! Just a warning do not think of laying a hand on me.

In this the author’s first attempt at unification since his Felon King swept all three branches in the election? His idea of an olive branch? Looking to assuage fears of his being perceived as a total asshole by half the country perhaps?

I think that Horist would even beat a dead dog. Twice. It’s his way, the way of win-lose. This is what we fear: Republicans with a grudge seeking retribution even upon an old man leaving office after serving admirably. We killed a million people, Biden led us out of it, and Larry continues to want to bring him down. Sweeeeet.

Don’t you think it’s a bit early to kill this man’s legacy before he leaves office after a crushing defeat of his own making and of his hand-picked successor? Do you think he needs you to spell failure for him? Sure, you can fall back on “it’s the truth, it’s the facts, nothing but the facts” but what happened to: humble in victory, gracious in defeat. Replaced by he’s down, he’s out, he’s helpless, let’s fuck with him some more, hahahahahha. We be unifying now.

I could list Biden’s accomplishments, Tom already did. I could regale you with your party’s obstruction being the cause, but what’s the point.
You thing that’s righteous. Four years of failed investigations and you still think the establishment is illegally weaponized against you. Except for the Supremes of course. They are golden as they decide against the majority overturning 50-year precedents for the revenge of the minority. And you cream in your jeans when you think of the Supremes. You seem incapable of change and just can’t be yourself if you are not picking a fight with the other side. Even when they are down and out. Perfect description of the bully, and now you have the bully pulpit and all the rest as well. So, with all due respect, and the respect you are due and without name calling, I say, Mr. Horist: GO FUCK YOUSELF WITH A STICK. And then, rotate. Counter-clockwise. Slowly. Repeat in a clockwise manner.

Jesus Christ Larry, look forward for a chance. Make a difference, not a diatribe. It’s your enchilada now. The whole nine yards. You and yours have a lot of work to do. Quit focusing on the losers, pointing fingers, saying it’s the other guy’s the issue, the other guy’s fault, and, instead, look to creating this better country you have been talking, squawking, soon to be balking about for so, so long. First up: your Felon King committed to ending the Ukrainian war before the inauguration. Said it would only take 24-hours. Get to it son. Talk about that pending accomplishment of your Felon King and let dead dogs lie for a bit before you take your pot shots again. And with crazy Kennedy, you gots to get that fluorine out of the water to give out cavities at Christmas. Return education to the States, FEMA to the States, all things project 2025 you gots to get done. Fix the border. Get rid of the illegals. You got detention camps to build, private jails to scale up. You spent 12 out of the past 16 years in obstruction mode, time to shift to construction. Build something real.

You have two years before we vote your remain or show you the door. Make ALL of America great, or lose the Congress in the midterms. We give you a head start: the economy is sound and booming. At least for the middle managerial classes and above.

Technically you are correct, yet you note Nixon showing how legacy shifts as time passes. How popularity polling moderates. Trump got us into covid, Biden brought us out. Trump put us in recession and massive debt, Biden got the economy on track, it IS on track, and Biden reduced the debt increases Trump created. He got more legislation passed than Trump, and IMO, it’s good to continue the renewable economy that Obama started, yada, yada, yada. You know, legislation, not appointments and EO’s. Law. But technically you are correct, his polling numbers are bad, people are still upset, and he leaves office a broken man. Yet legacy is made up of many things, not just popularity of the mob.

Really man, grow up. Have some empathy for someone not like you. Let the losers lick their wounds and move forward instead of re-litigating the past. And yes, Larry, we have feelings. Trample them at your own loss of character. Be humble in victory, magnanimous in your win.

Frank Danger … You have launched a new bs narrative … that I am kicking someone they is down. Not so. Last time I looked, Biden was still President and therefore a proper subject for commentary. Also, I did not raise the issue of his legacy. Many folks on the tally have been talking about it — mostly sycophants pumping it up, like you. It is a subject in the public domain in which you have presented you opinions. You just want to cancel opinions with which you do not agree. How leftist of you.. Your desire to slam me and my writings at every possible turn with nasty sarcasm and childish insults betrays your obsession and pettiness — with measures of low self esteem and jealousy. And now you have joined the ranks of the cry babies, the whiners and the snowflakes. You know what they say if you cannot take the heat in the kitchen?

Larry, you are predictable. I said: “Technically you are correct.” And yes, Biden is still President, and now you are slamming a lame duck with absolutely no future in politics or media for you own puerile joy. A mental masturbation to get your raunchy old man rocks off. Joy to the world that Larry’s team is finally on top. Let’s screw with the loser. Let’s slam the user. What fun.

I also said: “Have some empathy for someone not like you. Let the losers lick their wounds and move forward instead of re-litigating the past. And yes, Larry, we have feelings. Trample them at your own loss of character. Be humble in victory, magnanimous in your win.”

But you just can’t can you.

No you can’t. I share some feelings, explain our pain, and you say: “And now you have joined the ranks of the cry babies, the whiners and the snowflakes. You know what they say if you cannot take the heat in the kitchen?” Unifying, ain’t ya. Keep your olive branch. You couldn’t unify squat. Always that neighbor kid picking a fight and blaming the other guy. And when the other guy is down, and you are up, that’s when you kick him even harder.

Snowflake? Yeah, sure, whatever, I have NEVER in my live heard that from anyone except fools.

Still waiting for that snappy comeback when I disproved your name-filled tirade that Republicans never breached State Capitol buildings in 2020 preparing for the 1/6/2021 Republican Insurrection at the Nation’s Capital after a Felon Trump – the rapist — rally. Caught you in a big lie on that one and you still can’t man up and take it. A gentleman would have stepped up by now.
