
<p>The most fundamental obligation of government is to keep we the people safe and secure in our ability to enjoy “life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.” ; President Biden is failing to meet that obligation.</p>



<p>If we wanted to be kind to Biden, we might excuse his behavior to age-related loss of mental acuity. ; At least in that way, we could be sympathetic – or at least understanding – of his incompetent and dangerous policies. ; If we assume that he is mentally sound, then we have no choice but to blame his policies on incompetence, intentional malfeasance or worse.</p>



<p>Biden’s threat to the national security AND personal safety come in three major policy areas – reduced law enforcement, open borders and foreign policy. ; In the first of the three-part series, we will deal with reduced law enforcement.</p>



<p><strong>Reduced law enforcement</strong></p>



<p>The purpose of the American police forces – according to the motto – is “To Serve and Protect.” ; That pretty much sums it up. ; It is the “protect” portion of the motto that is critical. ; They “serve” just by enlisting and being. ; But their primary job is to “protect” innocent people from the criminals.</p>



<p>Biden is the leader of a political party that has been – except for a few short years during the Clinton administration – “soft on crime.” ; Democrat policies toward police, prosecutors and the courts have consistently been in the favor of the criminals.</p>



<p>Looking at police, we have seen both an evolutionary reduction in police authority and activity – and a national leftwing demonization that has seriously undermined police morale. ; That, in turn, has created unprecedented resignations from police forces across the nation – and a reduction in recruitment. ; Many of our cities now do not have enough police to keep the street safe even if they were empowered to do so – and they are not always so empowered.</p>



<p>We have seen police and other law enforcement agencies – such as the National Guard – be ordered to stand down or stand by as rioters wreaked havoc on residents with violence, arson, looting, vandalism, destruction of property, personal injury and even death. ; This also includes life-threatening attacks on police and government buildings (insurrection?).</p>



<p>The fact that the Vice President of the United States, Kamala Harris, would assist in raising bail for the few rioters who do get arrested is a slap in the face to every police officer in America – and underscores the Democrats’ allegiance to the criminal class.</p>



<p>Despite the best efforts to suppress law enforcement at the police level, a lot of potential criminals do get arrested and put up for prosecution. ; This is where you see the Democrats again making life easier for the criminals. ; First of all, they use prosecutorial discretion to simply NOT prosecute many of those arrested.</p>



<p>This seems to have arisen out of a plan by radical leftwing billionaire George Soros to fund soft-on-crime prosecutors throughout the nation. ; And … he has had success, unfortunately. ; Unfortunately for the innocent people currently being victimized by an unprecedented crime wave stretching across the nation.</p>



<p>Among Soros’ toadies are Los Angeles District Attorney George Gascon, Chicago District Attorney Kim Fox and New York District Attorney Alvin Bragg – and others. ; In virtually every case where a leftwing (Soros) Democrat has become the local prosecutor, enforcement has been reduced … and crime has soared.</p>



<p>In addition to prosecutorial discretion, Democrat politicians are decriminalizing serious crimes. ; As another move against police, some have made resisting arrest a civil misdemeanor – arguably making it impossible to use lethal force when criminal attacks police or even draws a gun. ; After all, one does not use lethal force when confronted with a mere civil violation. ; You issue a ticket.</p>



<p>Among the kind of crimes to be unprosecuted or reduced to civil penalties are battery, when there is no permanent injury, shoplifting, stealing merchandise under $5000 in value, property damage, etc. ; ;</p>



<p>Democrats have espoused the belief that if you are poor, stealing may be justified. ; One Democratic activist said that blacks looting stores was a form of reparations. ; ;</p>



<p>Democrats want to enhance the political power of criminals by extending the voting franchise to convicted felons – even those still serving time in prison.</p>



<p>As President of the United States, Biden has not pushed back on his own Democratic Party’s dangerous disregard for the rule-of-law. ; Nothing in his Stimulus Bill, his Infrastructure Bill and his failed Build Back Better bill and the so-called Voting Rights bills has addressed the soaring crime problem in America. ; He has not yet told his Vice President to stop siding with the criminals.</p>



<p>Thanks to Biden and the Democrats, more Americans are being robbed, raped and murdered for lack of law enforcement. ; It is not only on his watch, but also the direct result of his failure to address the issue. ; He and the Democratic Party are complicit in the current crime wave. ; They are not allowing our police to “serve and protect.” ; In fact, they are inhibiting them.</p>
