
Beau Biden, son of VP Joe Biden dies at age 46
Beau Biden, son of Vice President Joe Biden, former Attorney General in Delaware and rising star in the Democratic Party has died from a brain tumor at age 46. Biden had been experiencing health problem since 2010 when he suffered from a stroke (did not affect is speech or motor skills).
In 2013, Biden was treated at the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center after he had become disoriented and weak on vacation. He underwent surgery for brain cancer and was given a clean bill of health. The cancer returned this past Spring and aggressive treatment at Walter Reed in Maryland was not successful. Biden passed away Saturday evening surrounded by extended family.
Biden was first elected attorney general in 2006 and re-elected in 2010. During his tenure he focused aggressively on tactics to reduce sex crimes against children, and achieved 180 convictions. He also prosecuted banks and mortgage lenders for crooked loan practices. Biden as a captain in the Delaware National Guard and deployed to Iraq for a year in 2008.
