As Usual, the Democratic Primary Field is Full of Losers

<h4><em><strong>Have you seen this meme&quest;<&sol;strong><&sol;em><&sol;h4>&NewLine;<p>According to the image below&comma; the Democratic Senators <span class&equals;"s1">running in the 2020 presidential election are <em>really bad at their jobs<&sol;em>&period; I wouldn’t hire them to run anything&comma; let alone the United States of America&period; <&sol;span><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><img class&equals;"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-9022" src&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;punchingbagpost&period;com&sol;wp-content&sol;uploads&sol;2019&sol;04&sol;Screen-Shot-2019-04-18-at-7&period;34&period;45-PM-300x224&period;png" alt&equals;"" &sol;><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>While most of the facts in this meme are not accurate&comma; they aren&&num;8217&semi;t too far from the truth&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><strong>Let&&num;8217&semi;s start with Senator Elizabeth Warren &lpar;D-MA&rpar;&period;<&sol;strong><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Warren&comma; AKA &&num;8220&semi;Fauxcahontus&comma;&&num;8221&semi; was<span class&equals;"s1"> a prominent bankruptcy scholar for years before seeking federal office&period; <&sol;span><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><span class&equals;"s1">She was a registered Republican from 1991 to 1996&period;<&sol;span><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>In 2008&comma; Warren was tapped by then-Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid &lpar;D-NV&rpar; to chair a congressional panel formed to oversee the implementation of the <em>Emergency Economic Stabilization Act&period; <&sol;em>In 2010&comma; she was named by Obama as Special Advisor to the Sec&period; of the Treasury to help set up the new Consumer Financial Protection Bureau&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Warren was elected to the Senate in 2012&period; Since then&comma; she has introduced more than 300 bills&period; <em>None of them became laws<&sol;em>&period; To be fair&comma; 45 of the 1&comma;760&plus; bills she co-sponsored became laws&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Warren <span class&equals;"s1">announced her candidacy for the 2020 presidential election on February 8th&period; Her campaign focuses on promises to rebuild the middle class&comma; end federal corruption&comma; and promote equality and fairness&period; <&sol;span><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p class&equals;"p1"><strong><span class&equals;"s1">Next up is Senator Bernie Sanders&comma;<&sol;span><span class&equals;"s1"> who at age 77 announced he was running for president &lpar;again&rpar;&period;<&sol;span><&sol;strong><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p class&equals;"p1">Sanders <span style&equals;"font-family&colon; -apple-system&comma; BlinkMacSystemFont&comma; 'Segoe UI'&comma; Roboto&comma; Oxygen-Sans&comma; Ubuntu&comma; Cantarell&comma; 'Helvetica Neue'&comma; sans-serif&semi;">&lpar;I-VT&rpar; is a self-proclaimed socialist who gained nationwide fame when he ran against Hillary Clinton in the 2016 primaries&period; He served in the House of Representatives from 1991 until 2007&comma;<&sol;span><span style&equals;"font-family&colon; -apple-system&comma; BlinkMacSystemFont&comma; 'Segoe UI'&comma; Roboto&comma; Oxygen-Sans&comma; Ubuntu&comma; Cantarell&comma; 'Helvetica Neue'&comma; sans-serif&semi;"> when he was elected to the senate&period;<&sol;span><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Sanders has introduced more than 900 bills during his many years in Congress&period; Only 3 became laws&colon; 2 were to name post offices and 1 was to <span class&equals;"s1">designate March 4th&comma; 1991 as &OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;Vermont Bicentennial Day&period;”<&sol;span><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p class&equals;"p1"><span class&equals;"s1">To be fair&comma; <&sol;span><span class&equals;"s1">217 of the nearly 6&comma;000 bills <&sol;span><span class&equals;"s1">he co-sponsored were signed into law&period; <&sol;span><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p class&equals;"p1"><strong><span class&equals;"s1">Other losers include Senator Cory Booker &lpar;D-NJ&rpar; and Senator Kamala Harris &lpar;D-CA&rpar;&period;<&sol;span><&sol;strong><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p class&equals;"p1"><span class&equals;"s1">Senator Booker has introduced 269 bills since his election to the senate in <&sol;span><span class&equals;"s1">2013&semi; only 2 became law&period; Of the 1&comma;300&plus; bills he co-sponsored&comma; 36 became law&period; <&sol;span><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p class&equals;"p1"><span class&equals;"s1">Senator Harris has introduced 86 bills sine she was elected to the Senate in 2017&period; None of them became laws&period; Of the 575 bills she co-sponsored&comma; only 13 were signed into law&period; <&sol;span><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p class&equals;"p1"><strong><span class&equals;"s1">A name that doesn&&num;8217&semi;t appear on the meme is<&sol;span><&sol;strong><strong><span class&equals;"s1"> Amy Klobuchar &lpar;D-MN&rpar;&comma; who by the end of 2016 had passed more bills than any other Senator&period; <&sol;span><&sol;strong><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p class&equals;"p1"><span class&equals;"s1">According to <em>GovTrack<&sol;em>&comma; Klobuchar was the primary sponsor for 33 bills that became laws on issues such as human trafficking&comma; congressional accountability&comma; safe adoption&comma; road safety&comma; and women in entrepreneurship&period; When you take into account co-sponsorship&comma; her number jumps to 111&period;<&sol;span><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p class&equals;"p1"><span class&equals;"s1">That’s pretty impressive considering the vast majority of proposed legislation goes nowhere&period; Of the 13&comma;500&plus; pieces of legislation introduced in 2018&comma; only 443 became laws &lpar;that&&num;8217&semi;s about 4&percnt;&rpar;&period;<&sol;span><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Klobuchar announced her candidacy on February 10th during a snowstorm in Minnesota&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><span class&equals;"s1">&OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;What makes me unique is I did this announcement speech in the middle of a blizzard and I think we need people with grit &&num;8211&semi; I have that grit&comma;” said Klobuchar&comma; adding that she &OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;would have liked to see” Donald Trump &OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;sitting here in the snow for an hour giving this speech&period;”<&sol;span><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Klobuchar has promised to<span style&equals;"font-family&colon; -apple-system&comma; BlinkMacSystemFont&comma; 'Segoe UI'&comma; Roboto&comma; Oxygen-Sans&comma; Ubuntu&comma; Cantarell&comma; 'Helvetica Neue'&comma; sans-serif&semi;"> represent the working-class&comma; win bipartisan support&comma; and help Democrats take back the midwestern states that voted for Trump in 2016&period; <&sol;span><span class&equals;"s1">Key issues she wants to tackle include money in politics&comma; climate change&comma; and election reform&period; Unlike more progressive candidates&comma; she does not want to abolish ICE or provide free healthcare for all&period; <&sol;span><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p class&equals;"p1">If I were a Democrat&comma; Klobuchar would have my vote for sure&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><strong>Editor&&num;8217&semi;s note&colon;<&sol;strong> I don&&num;8217&semi;t know if Klobuchar would make a good president&comma; and I certainly won&&num;8217&semi;t vote for her&period;  But she is more capable and more real than the other candidates&period; We are dedicated conservatives here&comma; and frankly I&&num;8217&semi;m enjoying the parade of nutcases the Democrats are rolling out&period; It really is baffling how good candidates are ignored and total embeciles are gaining in the polls&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Perhaps she is a victim of the <a href&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;punchingbagpost&period;com&sol;2016&sol;02&sol;18&sol;the-shiny-ball-theory-of-politics&sol;">Shiny Ball Theory<&sol;a>&quest;<&sol;p>&NewLine;
