Another Clinton Presidency?
Hillary Clinton has announced her intention to begin her presidential campaign. The former first lady, New York senator and U.S. Secretary of State previously ran in 2008, easily getting defeated by Barrack Obama. This current presidential season, with virtually no other discussed candidates, Hillary is expected to be the Democratic candidate for the 2016 general election. With the looming controversies of Benghazi and the deleted email scandal, however, Hillary will have to convince many that she is a responsible, competent and transparent candidate.
Hillary is expected, according to the New York Post, to have volunteers deployed throughout Iowa within the next few weeks. Although the other Democrats have little to no name recognition, the former Secretary of State is not looking to underestimate this latest crop of candidates. As Clinton is well aware, the last Iowa primary concluded with her in third place — behind the unknown Obama and soon to be disgraced John Edwards.
The announcement was made by Hillary’s senior adviser John Podesta, but Hillary followed up the twitter message with her own video. “Everyday Americans need a champion, and I want to be that champion, so you can do more than just get by, you can get ahead and stay ahead,” said Hillary. Although the candidate is confident, many are still concerned about her infamous Secretary of State Tenure will impact the presidential hopeful’s electability.
