An Interview with Kevin McCarthy

<p>Kevin McCarthy appeared Tuesday on&nbsp&semi;<em>The Sean Hannity&nbsp&semi;Show<&sol;em> and surprised the world when he said that John Boehner &&num;8211&semi; the man he intends to replace &&num;8211&semi; deserves a B minus for his efforts as House Speaker&period;&nbsp&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>The interview opened up with a poll showing that over 50&percnt; of GOP voters feel betrayed by Boehner&rsquo&semi;s decision to step down&period; McCarthy is one of them&period;&nbsp&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&ldquo&semi;I think John Boehner deserves a B minus&comma;&rdquo&semi; said Kevin McCarthy&comma; the California Representative predicted to become the next House Speaker&period;&nbsp&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&ldquo&semi;Aw&comma; come on&comma;&rdquo&semi; responded Fox News host Sean Hannity&period;&nbsp&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&ldquo&semi;Now look&comma;&rdquo&semi; said McCarthy&comma; &ldquo&semi;you may disagree with me &ndash&semi; he won a majority&comma; we&rsquo&semi;ve got the highest margin we ever had before&comma; we lowered the deficit&hellip&semi;but you know what&quest; There is a lot more&period;&rdquo&semi;&nbsp&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>McCarthy explained that there were over 300 bills passed by the House this year that have not moved through the Senate&period;&nbsp&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&ldquo&semi;The Senate can&rsquo&semi;t change a nuclear option to protect a nuclear-free world&quest;&rdquo&semi; he asked&comma; referring to the failure of Senate Republicans to stop the filibuster rule in an attempt to defeat the nuclear deal with Iran&period; &nbsp&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>McCarthy has already proposed a reconciliation bill designed to dismantle Obamacare&period; The bill will need only 51 votes to pass through the Senate&period; It will certainly be vetoed&comma; however&comma; when it reaches the President&rsquo&semi;s desk&period;&nbsp&semi;Although McCarthy does aim to defund Planned Parenthood&comma; Obamacare&comma; and executive amnesty&comma; he did not say whether he would continue to fight if the effort would lead to a government shutdown&period; &nbsp&semi;&nbsp&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>As the interview progressed&comma; McCarthy used the Benghazi Committee&rsquo&semi;s stab at Hillary&rsquo&semi;s popularity as an example regarding the type of leader he would be&colon; &nbsp&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&ldquo&semi;What you&rsquo&semi;re going to see is a conservative speaker&comma; that takes a conservative Congress&comma; that puts a strategy to fight and win&period; And let me give you one example&period; Everybody thought Hillary Clinton was unbeatable&comma; right&quest; But we put together a Benghazi special committee&period; A select committee&period; What are her numbers today&quest; Her numbers are dropping&period; Why&quest; Because she&rsquo&semi;s untrustable&period; But no one would have known that any of that had happened had we not fought to make that happen&period;&rdquo&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&nbsp&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;
