Adam Schiff Calls Lindsey Graham the Leader of the GOP’s “Crackpot Caucus”

&NewLine;<p class&equals;"wp-block-paragraph">On a recent appearance on low-rated cable news outlet MSNBC&comma; Adam &OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;Shifty” Schiff called members of the GOP&comma; &OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;negative&comma; bile-filled performance artists” and part of the Republican &OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;crackpot caucus&period;”<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p class&equals;"wp-block-paragraph">His scathing comments were in response to host Lawrence O&&num;8217&semi;Donnell’s question about what Schiff thought about Senator Lindsey Graham&&num;8217&semi;s &lpar;R-South Carolina&rpar; disturbing prediction that there would be &&num;8220&semi;riots in the streets&&num;8221&semi; if former President Donald Trump is criminally indicted&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p class&equals;"wp-block-paragraph">&&num;8220&semi;I think with Lindsey Graham&comma; you see some signs of conscience flare up from time to time that are quickly extinguished&comma;&&num;8221&semi; Schiff quipped to host Lawrence O&&num;8217&semi;Donnell&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p class&equals;"wp-block-paragraph">Schiff&comma; who currently chairs the House Intelligence Committee and serves on the House Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th attacks on the Capitol&comma; also condemned right-wing lawmakers who have &OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;tethered themselves” to Trump&&num;8217&semi;s brand of grievance politics&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p class&equals;"wp-block-paragraph">&&num;8220&semi;Others&comma;&&num;8221&semi; such as Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene &lpar;R-Georgia&rpar;&comma; Schiff continued&comma; fall into his &&num;8220&semi;category&&num;8221&semi; of &&num;8220&semi;kind of negative&comma; bile-filled performance artists&period;&&num;8221&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p class&equals;"wp-block-paragraph">Schiff noted that &&num;8220&semi;happily at the moment&comma; those are small in number in Congress&period;&&num;8221&semi; But he stressed to O’Donnell that &&num;8220&semi;there are a lot more where she came from who are running&comma; who have won Republican primaries in very red districts&comma; and who appeared to be poised to join the Congress&period;&&num;8221&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p class&equals;"wp-block-paragraph">Schiff then lamented&comma; &&num;8220&semi;you know&comma; it&&num;8217&semi;s just a staggering turn of events in the country&comma; but also when you take the long view and think about some of the giants who once served in the Congress – people of principle like John Lewis and so many others – and now you see sort of the crackpot caucus growing within the GOP conference&period; What a terrible turn of events it is for the country&period;&&num;8221&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;
