Acting (or future) President Harris ?

If elected, California Senator Kamala Harris is likely to be the most influential and powerful Vice President in American history.  So, we should pay very close attention to HER record and positions – to those in a Biden administration who will be developing policies.  In fact, she may be the major influence in naming those individuals.

We have already seen hints of it.  Former Vice President Joe Biden has mostly sequestered himself in his basement – where he occasionally grants a softball interview to a shamefully biased reporter.  He has now begun to take trips to other locations but remains as isolated and aloof from the press and public – making no public speeches or responding to questions from press and the public.

Oh, I know.   I saw him give a “speech” to a mostly empty room in Pennsylvania and take a less than a dozen questions from a pre-selected “reporter” – who failed to ask a single question.  It was a staged event that included a number of “reporters” who shed their journalistic responsibilities to play supporting roles in the Biden political movie.

On the other hand, Harris is out on the campaign trail handling most of the media appearance.  She is serving as Biden’s attack dog as the presidential candidate hunkers down cowered in the bunker.  To use the colloquial phrase, Biden is hiding behind a woman’s skirt – or in this case, pants suit.

Harris will assume extraordinary power because Biden is not all that interested in issues.  His 47 year career on the public payroll had proven that he has no core beliefs.  He is a political wannabe who will go along with anyone and anything that he believes enhances his hold on public office.

When the mood of the nation was reflected in excessive “get tough” policies, Biden was a leading advocate – and principal sponsor of the law that incarcerated hundreds of thousands of black males – and others – to prisons for excessive terms.  As a candidate and a politician, Biden has always been a “cork on the water.”

Harris, on the other hand, is a dedicated and determined left-wing politician on most of the critical issues – although as California Attorney General she certainly took advantage of the Clinton/Biden crime bill to send a lot of those young men and women to the slammer.  But like Biden, she has now seen the political light and is walking away from hardline prosecution – so much so that she more recently helped raise money to get rioters – including looters – out of jail.

In addition to Biden’s historic disinterest in core principles, he is a 77-year-old man who demonstrably lacks the vigor to be a dynamic and forceful leader.  Biden simply lacks the physical stamina and the mental acuity.  This will greatly empower any presidential aides and especially his Vice President.

A Biden administration will be constructed largely by Harris with one mission in mind – to make Harris the 47th President of the United States, by succession or election in 2024.  A vote for Biden is a vote for Harris.

So, there ‘tis.
