
<p>You know their names; you know their faces &#8211; but have they actually accomplished anything? Despite non-stop attention from the liberal media, Democrats Stacey Abrams and Beto O’Rourke just can’t seem to win.</p>



<p style="font-size:18px"><strong>Let’s start with Stacey Abrams</strong>:</p>



<p>Famous for being a Black Woman, Abrams served in the Georgia House of Representatives from 2007 to 2017. More recently, she has made headlines for her voting rights activism and election denial. ;</p>



<p>Abrams founded the nonprofit group <em>Fair Fight Action</em> in 2018 after losing to Brian Kemp (R) in Georgia’s 2018 gubernatorial election. Abrams claimed the contest was “rigged” and used her nonprofit to sue the state (<a href="https://punchingbagpost.com/stacey-abrams-associate-reaps-millions-from-her-nonprofit/">read more here</a>). Though the lawsuit would ultimately fail, Abrams’ challenge against voter suppression galvanized the Democratic Party and brought in more than $60 million.</p>



<p><strong>Nonetheless, Abrams went on to lose against Governor Kemp again this year with a final vote of 46% to 53%.</strong></p>



<p>“Black-fence gossip and racism scuttled Abrams’ second bid for Georgia Governor before it got off the ground,” writes <em>The Daily Beast</em>. Abrams was criticized for “dining with Hollywood elites, hobnobbing with superstars, and appearing on national talk shows…she was too busy being famous.” ;</p>



<p><em>Journalists who were less kind pointed to Abrams&#8217; weight and marital status (she’s never been married) as contributing factors. </em></p>



<p>As noted by <em>Fox News</em> contributor Dan Gainor, it’s very possible that Abrams could have been tapped as President Joe Biden’s running mate in 2020 had she won the gubernatorial election in 2018. <em>The Washington Post</em> made a case for her in 2020, even going so far as to compare her to ‘people with last names Clinton and Barack.’ ;</p>



<p>In an extremely creepy op-ed linked below, <em>New York Times</em> contributor Charles M. Blow actually compares Abrams to Moses: “As the <em>Bible</em> tells the story, Moses delivers his people from bondage and to the ‘promised land,’ but even with all his efforts he is not allowed to enter…This, I fear, is the story of Stacey Abrams.”</p>



<p>To date, Abrams&#8217; most impressive achievement was fictional: appearing briefly as “President of United Earth” in the Sci-Fi series <em>Star Trek: Discovery. </em>Though her TV appearance may have been the proverbial nail in the coffin for her political future, the role boosted her net worth from $109,000 to $3.17 million.  ;</p>



<p style="font-size:18px"><strong>Moving on to Texas Democrat Beto O’Rourke</strong>:</p>



<p>O’Rourke, whose given name is Robert Francis, served in the US House of Representatives from 2013 to 2019. He founded the political action committee &#8220;Powered by People&#8221; after losing a Senate race in 2018. ;</p>



<p>O’Rourke went on to fail his presidential bid in 2020 and lost a gubernatorial campaign this month against incumbent Texas Governor Greg Abbott (R) with a vote of 44% to 55%.</p>



<p><em>O’Rourke has often been criticized for running a campaign that alienates moderate voters. ;</em></p>



<p>“He ran a standard progressive campaign in a red state that might be becoming more purple,” explains GOP consultant Matt Mackowiak. “His whole strategy was hoping there would be more school shootings and the grid would fail…He had no message on the economy, and his position on the border is laughable. He didn’t give himself a chance in this race because he never moved to the middle.”</p>



<p>Among the major mistakes O’Rourke made was a campaign promise to confiscate assault-style rifles including AR-15s. <em>No matter your political leanings, some things just won’t fly in the Lone Star State.</em></p>



<p>“This is three statewide failed races,” adds Republican consultant Corbin Casteel. “He’s a perennial candidate. He hasn’t shown any ability to win outside his hometown and his ideas are just way too radical for Texas and he keeps getting rejected left and right.” ;</p>



<p>While the liberal media wasn’t quite as obsessed with O’Rourke as they were with Abrams (he is a white man, after all), the Texas Democrat has been described as:</p>

<p>Despite a combined record of 0-5 when it comes to running for major office, the campaigns of Abrams and O&#8217;Rourke have helped other Democrats win elections and have produced shifts of power in Congress. </p>



<p>“It’s amazing how much money Democratic voters waste on social media stars in clearly unwinnable races, doing nothing but enriching Dem consultants. $75m on Beto. $70m on [Val] Demings,” tweeted American author Glenn Greenwald. “At least Dem consultants got new boats.” ;</p>



<p><em>Combined, Democrats spent nearly $200 million Abrams and O’Rourke in 2022.</em></p>



<p>At this point, Abrams and O’Rourke are better known for the races they have lost than the ones they have won. Both are in danger of becoming symbols of political failure like Tony Sanchez, Ron Kirk, Wendy Davis, and John Sharp.</p>



<p>“Beto O’Rourke losing an election is one of those holiday season traditions that really makes you nostalgic,” jokes Caleb Howe of news site <em>Mediaite</em>.</p>



<p>Perhaps both should give up running for elected office and put their fundraising skills to work helping the Democratic Party. In the words of <em>Fox News</em> journalist Joe Silverstein, both candidates are ‘amazing at setting Democrats’ money on fire.’ ;</p>
