A New Threat from ISIS: “We are Already There”
ISIS used social media to issue a new threat to America. In their post, they made it abundantly clear what they are capable of and what they plan to do.
First, ISIS promised that they will kill Pamela Geller, the woman who organized the recent draw Mohammed event in Garland, Texas. Their recent attack failed to kill her or anyone attending her event thanks to a quick-thinking police officer’s last-minute heroics. But make no mistake, says ISIS. They will try again and they will not fail forever.
Perhaps more startling is how far they claim their reach extends. According to the new post, ISIS already has bases set up in fifteen different U.S. states. Seventy-one fighters are already in the country spread across those states. Twenty-three of those fighters have already pledged to carry out a mission, like the Garland, Texas attack for ISIS.
The threat against Geller extends to those around her. “Everyone who houses her events, gives her a platform to spill her filth, is a legitimate target.” This included anyone who attends her events or supports her. They offered an explanation for why Geller was not killed during the first attack: “We knew that the target was protected. Our intention was to show how easily we give our lives for the Sake of Allah. The disbelievers who shot our brothers think that you killed someone untrained, nay, they gave you their bodies in plain view because we were watching.”
ISIS also revealed five of the fifteen states they are claiming to have trained, loyal fighters in: California, Michigan, Virginia, Maryland, and Illinois.
It is not clear how much of what was said in the threat is true, but how much of a risk do we want to take?
