A Clinton Dropout Contingency Plan? Liberal Media Avoiding It.

<p>Concerns regarding Hillary Clinton&rsquo&semi;s fragile health are all over the news&comma; but what doesn&rsquo&semi;t seem to be in the mainstream news is a backup plan&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Conservative media sources have begun to contemplate what may happen if Hillary&rsquo&semi;s health forces her to drop out of the race&comma; but the liberal media refuses to even consider it&period;&nbsp&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Clinton is almost 69 years old&comma; and if you take this at face value&comma; losing consciousness as a result of pneumonia is a very serious illness&period;&nbsp&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&ldquo&semi;Hillary Clinton&rsquo&semi;s weekend health scare already has started to stir speculation about whether Democratic officials should be discussing the possibility of a Plan B&comma; in case they need to hastily arrange for a replacement nominee&comma;&rdquo&semi; writes <em>Fox News<&sol;em>&rsquo&semi; Adam Shaw&period; The smaller conservative outlets are all following suit&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>CNN&comma; MSNBC&comma; and Huffington Post remain silent&period; &nbsp&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>According to Democratic Party bylaws&comma; the DNC has the power to appoint &lpar;by majority vote&rpar; a candidate to fill Clinton&rsquo&semi;s spot if she is forced to drop out of the race&period;&nbsp&semi;Potential candidates include Clinton running mate Tim Kaine&comma; Vice President Joe Biden&comma; Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders&comma; and Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren&period;&nbsp&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>This scenario is unlikely&comma; however&comma; as Hillary would have to step down voluntarily in order for such a meeting to occur&period; But it&rsquo&semi;s still worth considering&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Former DNC Chairman Don Fowler is one of the few Democrats urging his party to take action&period;&nbsp&semi;&ldquo&semi;Now is the time for all good political leaders to come to the aid of their party&comma;&rdquo&semi; he said to <em>Politico<&sol;em>&period; &ldquo&semi;I think the plan should be developed by 6 o&rsquo&semi;clock this afternoon&period;&rdquo&semi;&nbsp&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Fowler expects Hillary to recover from her bout of pneumonia &lpar;with which she was diagnosed last Friday&rpar;&comma; but says it would be a mistake to move forward without a contingency plan&period;&nbsp&semi;&ldquo&semi;It&rsquo&semi;s something you would be a fool not to prepare for&comma;&rdquo&semi; he said on Monday&period; &ldquo&semi;She better get well before she gets back out there because if she gets back out there too soon&comma; it might happen again&comma;&rdquo&semi; he added&period;&nbsp&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Fowler know that if Clinton&rsquo&semi;s health prevents her from continuing as a presidential candidate and the party <em>hasn&rsquo&semi;t<&sol;em> come up with a backup plan&comma; there is virtually no chance the Dems will win the election&period;&nbsp&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&ldquo&semi;There should be a concerted&comma; unified effort on behalf of the president and the Democratic leaders in the House and the Senate and from the officials of the DNC as well &ndash&semi; I think unanimity would be absolutely critical&comma;&rdquo&semi; says Fowler&period; &ldquo&semi;The quicker that unanimity develops&comma; the easier and better the process&period;&rdquo&semi;&nbsp&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><strong>Editor&&num;8217&semi;s note&colon;<&sol;strong> Tim Kaine or Joe Biden are the obvious choices and might have a shot if the timing is right&period; But either would self destruct when Bernie claims the crown&period; Warren would self destruct as soon as she opens her mouth&comma; she&&num;8217&semi;s just that bad&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;
