Green Party Criticizes Jill Stein for Attempting a Recount

Things aren’t going well post-election for Green Party candidate Jill Stein. Unable to accept the fact that Donald Trump – a man whom she no doubts thinks will destroy the planet – won the election, Stein has demanded a nonsensical recount.  In fact the latest results indicate Trump has gained votes in Wisconsin rather than losing them.

Last week, Stein began raising money in an effort to conduct a recount of election votes in numerous states. Knowing that many of these states would refuse, Stein used the fundraiser to pad her own pockets.

Trump called the move a “scam” and many of Stein’s (former) supporters agree. Dr. Margaret Flowers, a Green Party candidate for the Senate, wrote a letter complaining about Stein’s misuse of funds in the party’s name. The letter received over 200 signatures from party members, officials, and candidates.

“The decision to pursue a recount was not made in a democratic or a strategic way, nor did it respect the established decision making processes and structures of the Green Party of the United States (GPUS).  The recount has created confusion about the relationship between the Green and Democratic parties because the states chosen for the recount are only states in which Hillary Clinton lost,” writes Flowers.

“There were close races in other states such as New Hampshire and Minnesota where Clinton won, but which were not part of the recount. And this recount does not address the disenfranchisement of voters; it recounts votes that were already counted rather than restoring the suffrage of voters who were prevented from voting.”

Flowers notes that the GPUS understands the “undemocratic actions taken during the primaries by the DNC and the Clinton campaign” and insists that the Greens cannot be “perceived to be allied with such a party.”

Editor’s note: We all know that Stein is merely a surrogate for Hillary’s campaign at the moment.  The money is coming from Hillary’s supporter and this is a last ditch effort for Hillary to wedge herself into the White House. We are not sure why Jill Stein would put herself into that position, but then again the Green Party has struggled for relevance during the entire campaign season.
