Ex CNN President Admits to the Network's Unfair Journalistic Practices

CNN was so unfairly biased during its election coverage, that it quickly became known as the “Clinton News Network.”

Jon Klein, former president of CNN for six years, did not approve of how prejudice the news network appeared during the election cycle. Specifically, he thinks political surrogates shouldn’t hold paying contributor positions for CNN news channels.

“I hope this can be the death knell for the surrogates that all the news networks employ because it’s predictable,” said Klein to Fox News’ Megyn Kelly on “The Kelly File.” “As a viewer … it’s boring. We know what the Punch and Judy puppets are going to say every time.”

This was in reaction to the Donna Brazile scandal, whereas the DNC chairperson was a CNN contributor that leaked questions to the Clinton campaign, giving the democratic candidate an unfair advantage to rival Bernie Sanders.

“I’m sure under pressure [Brazile] felt she had something that could be helpful to the person or the cause that she is most loyal to,” said Klein. [Brazile] leaked this to the Hillary camp during the primaries. We don’t know that she did not leak things to [Sen. Bernie] Sanders. [We know] only because Wikileaks has spoonfed us the Hillary stuff.”

He explained that political surrogate’s agendas are not hidden, so the only way to maintain journalistic integrity is by not having them on the publication’s payroll.

“I don’t think it’s surprising when you’ve got a partisan surrogate in your midst as a paid contributor,” said Klein. “I think at the end of the day, you know where people’s loyalties ultimately lie.”

CNN wasn’t the only network that was criticized for its one-sided election coverage. The New York Times apologize for how it covered the election. The Times admitted that it underestimated Trump’s support and that moving forward the publication would aim to cover president-elect Trump without bias.

“We will cover his policies and his agenda fairly. We will bring expert analysis and thoughtful commentary to the changes we see in government, and to their ramifications on the ground,” said Times publisher Arthur Sulzberger Jr. He also said his staff would “rededicate ourselves to the fundamental mission of Times journalism. That is to report America and the world honestly, without fear or favor.” 

Author’s note: Now these liberal publications are being properly exposed. Trump, along with many others, have always said these media outlets were being bribed and provided unfair coverage to its readers, but now the publications themselves are even admitting to their bias journalistic practices.
