According to a Washington Times report, 50 Senators, led by Senator Joni Ernst from Iowa, have signed letter to the Department of Health and Human Services calling for an investigation of Planned Parenthood. ;The letter references the harvesting and sale of human body parts from abortions conducted at Planned Parenthood facilities, and challenges those practices with respect to federal law.

The Senators wrote: “The footage raises a number of questions about the practices of the organization, including whether they are in compliance with federal laws regulating both the use of fetal tissue and partial-birth abortions. In addition to questions about Planned Parenthood’s compliance with applicable federal law and medical ethics, we believe the footage prompts important policy questions surrounding the issue of abortions permitted so late in a pregnancy — sometimes even later than 5 months — that an unborn baby’s organs can be identified and harvested.”

PBP reported five days ago Senator Rand Paul is introducing a bill to pull over $500 million of federal funding from Planned Parenthood after a second video was released where an Planned Parenthod executive described the ghoulish sale of body parts.

Presidential candidate Carly Fiorino spoke up during her campaign, describing this as “moral depravity” and setting herself distinct from Hillary Clinton who made vague and unspecific comments in support of the organization.

Despite the flurry and fury of reporting in the conservative media, the three major networks ABC, NBC and CBS are maintaining their liberal bias and giving the story only a passing nod. ;The Washington Times reports they have provided a total of only 9 minutes and 11 seconds of coverage to the issue. ;
