147 FBI Agents Investigating Hillary's Security Leaks
A recently released report shows that 147 FBI agents are now involved in the investigation into Hillary Clinton’s private email server. These agents have been tasked with looking into leads that have generated from initial stages of the investigation, a source told The Washington Post.
FBI director James Comey, for one, has taken a special interest in the case. “What I can assure you is that I am very close personally to that investigation to ensure that we have the resources we need, including people and technology, and that it’s done the way the FBI tries to do all of it’s work: independently, competently and promptly,” he told lawmakers in March.
The Post also reported that the FBI is intensifying efforts in the case so that no announcements are made close to the November election. Currently, the agents are trying to determine whether Clinton broke any laws by using her personal email server during her time as Secretary of State. Although Clinton has admitted it was a lapse in judgment, she does not believe that she violated any laws.
The issue has been a major storyline in attack ads against Clinton, and it is expected that it will be more prevalent as the election looms closer.
According to the Los Angeles Times, FBI agents are now setting up interviews with Clinton’s longtime aids in the hopes of determining whether or not she knowingly or negligently exchanged classified information through the private email server.
Editor’s note: Lest you forget, consensus is the FBI will decide to indict or not in May.
