11 Counties in California – More Voters than People
President Trump has repeatedly claimed that widespread voter fraud is the only reason Hillary Clinton won the popular vote.
“In addition to winning the Electoral College in a landslide, I won the popular vote if you deduct the millions of people who voted illegally,” he tweeted on November 27th.
Most people consider such widespread voter fraud unlikely, but new data from conservative watchdog group Judicial Watch indicates the potential for voter fraud in the traditionally blue state of California.
According to a recent report, 11 counties in California have more registered voters than eligible voters. Hillary won the vote in 10 of these counties.
Registration rates for these counties range from 102% to 144%. Such inconsistencies could have honest explanations, but states are required by law to conduct regular maintenance of their voter registration lists.
California Secretary of State Alex Padilla has twice refused demands to provide voter data to a new agency created by Trump to investigate voter fraud.
In an August 1st letter to Padilla, Judicial Watch threatened to sue the state if California of officials don’t clean up the state’s voter registration lists. In the past year, Judicial Watch has sent similar letters to 11 states over the same concern.
“California’s voting rolls are an absolute mess that undermines the very idea of clean elections,” argues Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton. “It is urgent that California take reasonable steps to clean up its rolls.”
Author’s Note: This is a lot of extra voters. It may just be sloppiness on the part of California, but the report opens things up to fraud and is certainly suspicious.
Editor’s note: Trump’s claims of massive voter fraud are not without foundation. We will see how his investigative committee fares in ferreting out illegal votes.
