Authorities on Friday discovered a filthy camp in Amalia, New Mexico where Muslim extremists were training young kids to conduct school shootings. They found the camp while looking for 4-year-old Abdul-Ghani, who was reported missing last December.
Authorities located the boy’s father – Siraj Ibn Wahhaj – at the camp along with the remains of a young boy. The body has not yet been identified.
According to court documents, Wahhaj believed his son was “possessed by the Devil” and needed to undergo an exorcism. According to the boy’s mother, Abdul-Ghani suffered frequent seizures and could not walk.
Investigators found 5 adults and 11 kids (ages 1-15) living at the compound. All five adults were arrested and charged with neglect and child abuse. The children were put into protective custody.
Taos County Sheriff Jerry Hogrefe said the kids looked like “Third World refugees” and described living conditions at the camp as “the ugliest looking, filthiest” he’s ever seen. When police arrived, Wahhaj was carrying an “AR-15 rifle, five loaded 30-round magazines, and four loaded pistols, including one in his pocket,” added Hogrefe.
After being rescued, one of the children told reporters that Wahhaj had trained him to use an assault rifle in preparation for future school shootings.
Wahhaj has connections to terrorism through his father – a New York City imam whom prosecutors have described as an “unindicted co-conspirator” in the 9/11 attack.
Editor’s note: This is how close terrorists can be, and why radical Islam is one of the world’s most serious problems.
